  • Maheshwar Sutras Achyut Karve Phonology
    Those who liked this video need to atleast repeatedly listen to the sutras and try to recite them while listening to them. This is an educational video. Its a recitation of all the sutras included in the book entitled "Unveiling the Atlantis of Sanskrit Phonology". This video will come in handy for teaching children human lingual sounds irrespective of language because they are primordial sounds of humans.

Me being a Drummer I will include this as a beginner lesson to start any lesson of percussion. I’ve learned Tabla in Hindustani shastriya sangeet..my medium of instruction was in Hindi using Devanagari script.. however this whole video is a precious beginner lesson for whole life of percussionist.. Thanks for an incredible presentation! Very humbled to find it on TH-cam! And I feel so blessed! This video has opened a new gateway to my approach of Learning.. Best regards! 🙏😇

      Sanskrit phonetics is unique and it is necessary to know its nuances or else one will recite or speak sanskrit the way they speak their mother tongues. The main difference is that in all other languages words are spoken syllabically however chaste sanskrit ought to be spoken letter by letter.

    Sir, I have learnt alphabets and their pronunciation in Kannada, I am using them efficiently with 'hrasva', dheergha, alpaprana, mahaprana with no difficulty while writing, reading and speaking. Now very recently I have taken to learn Sanskrit with all reverence and love for learning the language of our scripture. In this context please I have come across Maheshwara Suthras. Please explain me how Mahaheshwara Suthras are useful over the usual form of learning the prounciation.

    • @achyutkarve
      @achyutkarve  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sanskrit has a unique way of phonation much different from any other spoken language of the day. All languages we speak today are corrupted. Even those who speak Sanskrit speak it with the corruptions present in their first language they have learnt. As a result we find South Indians speaking Sanskrit differently from North Indians who speak Sanskrit. People whose first language is English speak Sanskrit with an English accent. Mahashewar Sutras provide a window to undo the corruptions in pronunciation of any spoken language.

      The sutras after 18.49 minutes are corrected sutras for accommodating the 64 letters. The Maheshwar Sutras as they stand have been recited at the beginning of the video.
