I am 62 and I have been a fan of the Stamps ever since the first time I heard Sweet City Woman way back in '71. This song was all over the radio in the seventies so you must have just missed it.
Saw them perform last night (Apr22.2023) in Brandon, Mb. Sounded great. Pretty cool they still perform after over 55 years!
I lived in Shilo with my parents from 1968-1972 and we used to drive to Brandon each weekend to visit my grandparents who lived there. Interestingly it was during these road trips that I first heard "Wild Eyes" on the radio in 1971-1972. That guitar riff stood out the first time I heard it....and I still love it to this day!
Another great old song! Love his voice!!!
me too love it watched live
I can appreciate a drummer that sings. Admirable
They were my first concert at the old Pavilion on the Stampede grounds in 1975. Saw them the last time with my teenage kids to show what true Canadian pioneers were. The band were also very engaged with everyone at the end of the concert with a meet and greet.
They were my first concert also that year in Smithers BC and 13yrs old it was quite something to watch. The two opening bands were 'Five Man Incredible Band'?(not totally sure about that) and Thundermug(they were fantastic) and been a huge fan of them since then. When Kim Berly was doing his drum solo he lit his drumsticks on fire and all the lights went off it was quite show. Never seen nothing like that along with my buddy. Got the whole live concert on CD as the live album has so many songs on it from that Canada wide tour.
This song has always rocked!!
Greetings from Athens Georgia usa. Nice sound. David Wildsmith sent me here.
Powerful, heavy! Canada chart #2, year 1972
Wasn't #1? What a SHAME!
I remember, i was teen, all of my teeth :)
I'm From Edmonton originally and never heard this song in my Life one day I moved to Calgary and noticed it was constantly on Classic Rock FM 😊 I'm a proud Albertan and can appreciate Rock from Cowtown Cheers Eh
Based & Under-rated af.
Drumming & singing, talk about talent. 👏

I love this song. Great Canadian band
Wowed that this song still works, some 50 years later. I would love to perform this live sometime!
Good luck. It's hard!
@@daniellovell7606 Not that hard, really. My kid brother's garage band figured it out in no time flat. It's actually a pretty easy song to play, at least on electric guitar.
Now, for something a little *more* challenging, try out Babe Ruth's "The Mexican." That one took me all of 15 or 20 minutes to figure out!🤣
Wow....I think I got a contact high just watching this!
Heavy Metal Stampeders ! So many great songs. My first concert too!
Outa sight!
I have seen them 3 times in the last 10 years

Born in Calgary. Worked as a kid at Revelstoke Lumber on Edmonton Trail in the early 1980’s. A little guy with more hair and beard than height came up to the order desk. He bought something or other and left. Co-worker (Jim Fay) says “do you know who that was?” I said no. Turned out to be Kim Berly. That’s my brush with fame…
Great 🇨🇦 band
They’re playing in Sudbury, Ontario April 13, 2024!!!!! 🎉
Sadly without Cornelis Van Sprang. Passed away suddenly in early March 2024. The band says they will carry on. Hey! I accidentally made a reference to one of their songs…
Love them women with wild eyes!
Really missing Andy Frost and Psychedelic Psunday on Q107.
Yeah, Sunday afternoons aren’t the same anymore.
I will beseeing them for the 3rd and last time this may wit the passing of Ronnie King yesterday
Canada❤
Canadian
Canadian ! ….you better believe it.
With Songs like SWEET CITY WOMAN, HIT THE ROAD JACK, and THIS Classic, WHY are THE STAMPEDERS not Better Known?
Clearly. They were Not just Canadian-based Recording Artists, as the TV program featuring THIS Clip is based in the United Kingdom.
Curious WHY we rarely Hear their Songs.
At least we can "Call Them Up" HERE on TH-cam!
Thank You TH-cam.
❤ 😂
The Dutch liked to rock in 1972.
I’m not sure if they do
In 2022.
