Thank you everybody for an important important work- my very parse but contuing education about the hindutva operations in Dakshina Canara began with Greeshma Kuthur's long form reportage. And, also Dhanya which series to start with for this relaxing Turskish series exoerience?
Nice discussion on a important topic … Coastal Karnataka (Udupi/Mangaluru), we had high hopes from present generation that, they will push back on the communal polarisation by right wing sangh parivar. But we are wrong and current generation youth are taking this polarisation to next level by coming out in open support to this madness, to the extent that, now politicians are not even needed there to turn the polarisation key, it’s done by local youth by themselves … instead of batting for unity in diversity. So in short coastal Karnataka is championing the demise of Diversity in India.
Hi, thank you for watching our show. I think people have always resisted, always stood up against peddlers of violence. Even when the riots happened in the wake of Babri Masjid's demolition, an activist named G Rajshekhar went around documenting it.
The Sadhvi Anisha mentioned was Chaitra Kundapura and she is a contestant on Big Boss Kannada. She was also brought up on charges of fraud, when she promised a man a BJP MLA ticket in exchange for money citing her connections with the top brass.
Do not agree with the representation part, out of 13 seats in Udupi Mangalore region for MLA elections . Only 1 ticket was given to brahmin and 1 to Saraswat . On the contrary 3 were given to Billavas , 4 to Bunts which is also an OBC community , the remaining 4 , 1 went to fisherman community where as 3 went to Gowda , SC and ST . 2 Lok Sabha seats each went to a Billava and Bunt again both OBC . So Satyajit Surathkals disappointment is valid but his point that OBCs are not given tickets and Brahmins get it , this is very much away from facts
Hi, I’m the reporter who wrote about how Karnataka's Billava community, sidelined by the Sangh, seeks political representation. Representation goes beyond ticket allocation; it’s about meaningful inclusion. While Billavas received tickets in the 2023 MLA elections, Satyajit Surathkal pointed that despite being key foot soldiers of Hindutva, the community didn’t have an MP from the BJP (until 2024. story was done before Assembly elections)-a gap between their contributions and leadership opportunities. A significant portion of members in Hindutva organisations come from the Billava community, serving as foot soldiers, who gradually moving into local leadership roles. Yet, this progression hasn’t translated into adequate electoral representation or higher leadership roles within the BJP.
@@shivaniikava Hello Shivani . Few points Post 90s BJP did not have a Brahmin Saraswat MPs either in the region Neighboring Shimogga Bangarppa an Eediga Leader was an MP from BJP as well (among the many parties he contested) While I totally agree with your point that ticket distribution does not mean meaningful inclusion . Are there any other quantifiable parameters which can measure it ? The support of OBCs especially Billavas to BJP post 90s could be said to be a parameter that they feel included hence the support. Also the Shri Narayan guru related events are attended by all castes including Brahmin and Saraswat making them a Hindu event which points towards inclusivity. I think Satyajit Surathkals is a grapes sour story I suggest if you get the resources you should do a story on the grassroots level ticket distribution (municipality, corporators , panchayats etc) and how much every caste is being included . Should be a good data point Have a great weekend Regards

There is going to be backlash for years of fake secularism at the cost of Hindus.
