This is one of those body styles that I either love or can’t stand depending on options and color combo. What I think we can all agree on is that the Boss 351 is one of Ford’s greatest street engines. The only problem with that engine is that it came out four years too late. I often thought that if Ford ever put that engine in the Maverick from the factory it would’ve been king of the street. Cool car Lou!

In 1983 I bought a 1969 429 SCJ car that had a 1971 Boss 351 that was installed by the previous owner from the owner that I purchased it from. It was hopped up very nicely and very well balanced. What a great engine! I paid $3,800 for it and sold it one year later for $4,500. It paid for my first year in college. 😎🤠

My dad's friend bought this exact car new and kept it until the late 90's. He might have driven it once a month around our small town for a couple of hours

One sweet restoration! Love that vaporized fossil fuel coming out the exhaust and the torque twist when revving the Boss 351 engine. Looks like the AM radio is set to the Big 89 WLS!

This 1971 Ford Mustang Boss 351 looks spectacular in that black and silver combination! Those extra "Ram Air" air intakes on the hood, along with the silver rear spoiler, make it look pretty cool. Its cream interior, along with the black instrument panel and its "Hurst" gear lever, combine magnificently! Plus, the roar of its 351 V8 sounded great! I love Mustangs..1971-1973 body style is not my fav..but this is an excellent example of one of those cars. I love watching your videos because I always learn so much. Love the detail of them.. So I'm excited to see what you show us! Love the simplicity of the dash. Wow, interesting dash on the passenger side. The dimentions are huge. Same with the outside dimentions. The car looks as if it is going fast, even when standing still. I remember back in the day, these cars were everywhere...though not all Boss 351! Fantstic vid. Great exhaust note too! Thumbs UP!

I love this. So unique. I had a regular 1971 Mach 1 with a 351 Cleveland in forest green. I regret selling it. We all have that car we had to sell to get the money for the next one. Big mistake when you are young you don't think.

@@loucostabile thanks, back in the day I was stationed at FT Belvoir VA I had a Boss 302 and my company commander had a simular Boss 351, I tuned his car a few times and test drove it,what a blast.
What is the name of the shop that these guys work out of? What city are they in? There was a midwest race car driver who raced a 71 Mustang fast back with a 351 Cleveland. Jim Wyman, who won 6 consecutive races with the car at the dirt track in Harlan Iowa. I believe he owned the Ford Dealership in Griswold Iowa, or Glenwood Iowa. Wyman raced regularly at Sunset Speedway in Omaha, NE, which had an excellent dirt track before he track was sold to developers. He previously raced a 68 Torino fastback, and a 70 Torino fastback. His favorite engine was the 351 Cleveland.
There's two 71 Mach 1s in our neighborhood,one black all original except paint and one red all original including paint,not necessarily a blue oval guy but I'd like to own either one
I traded in my 69 428 cobra jet mach one on my 71 boss 351 in 1971,I my estimation the Boss was quicker tha the 428 cobra jet mustang.I wish I never sold either one,they were both great rides.
I'm not sure if this car has one or not. When I'm at a person's house / garage, that is usually where something like that would usually be kept, however at a car show, it's hit or miss on what documentation / brochures people bring with them.

my moms 82 mustang was similar color scheme but with the 305 cubic in or 5 L V8 which had 157 HP as opposed to the Boss 351 which had 330 HP in 1971

These are fast 13.80 quarter, that's faster then the 428 cobras, only Mustang faster from the factory was the Boss 429.

I traded in my 69 428 cobra jet mach one on my 71 boss 351 in 1971,I my estimation the Boss was quicker tha the 428 cobra jet mustang.I wish I never sold either one,they were both great rides.

I'm not sure if this car has one or not. When I'm at a person's house / garage, that is usually where something like that would usually be kept, however at a car show, it's hit or miss on what documentation / brochures people bring with them.
I occasionally see one at Detroit Autorama, or The Motor Muster in Greenfield Village at The Henry Ford in Dearborn, Michigan.
