It's a beautiful truck also I like they didn't put a Chevrolet motor in it they kept it Ford and that idle surge is probably the ethanol fuel my 97 Dodge Dakota Sport V8 does it too if I don't keep premium fuel in it

Engine needs to be checked out by a tuner. Super fine truck, could only of been made better with a 6.2.
Why would you ruin a classic. By putting a cheap ass GM motor in it? The only reason people put GM motors in non GM vehicles. They want the cheap horse power. People by Fords because they are not cheap. They may cost more. But, you get what you pay for. You want to put cheap horse power in it. Fine, don't whine when you constantly have to work on it. You want the best. Keep it what how it was made. Ford.
