I moved out at 19 (2020) to live with my partner and his family and then moved again last year into our own place. A big piece of moving advice I can give you is delegate and cull. As you’re packing, get rid of all the things you find that you either forgot about or haven’t used - it’s a great opportunity to organise and simplify. Linking to that, organise all of your belongings by room so that when you do move, you can move each item to it’s dedicated room and then set up room-by-room. Even if you can’t put it in the room when you move (because you need to vacuum, plan, etc.), still have it labelled by room and then put it in lines/sections in a large area like the living room, for example. These two things helped me heaps when I moved! Especially the second time around. Love the quality of your videos and the new mic sounds great!
You know it’s gonna be a good day when mason posts, btw when moving out it’s nice to make your own food, it’s gets you used to making your own food, you don’t get into the habit of eating badly. Another thing I wish I did is focusing on the basic things like bedding clothing and not setup immediately, the final thing IS STAY ORGANIZED
I just found your TH-cam channel and I love you videos they inspire me to want to start streaming I been trying to stream but I was on console and that’s real bad so I’m saving up money so I can buy a pc to start streaming thanks for the motivation and keep up the good work I wish you all the best on you journey brother 🖤👋. I’ll be tapping in on every upload so yeah ig that’s it keep up the good work bro😉👍🏽
Not gonna lie, I started watching you like a year ago and you really taught me how to not be so hard on my self when trying to balance TH-cam life and personal life. And you are really inspiring, especially someone as young as you are(that's a compliment lol don't know how that sounded on text haha) Can't wait to see your new place man and keep up the great work! :)
I moved out at 18 and I def recommend getting good quality pots and pan and eat vegetables it's silly but I didn't realize until I left how much I relied on my grandma to make sure I ate enough veggies. Go for the biggest bed you can afford out the gate it's cheaper long term than buying multiple as you get more people/pets in your life. Other than that be willing to have friends over often and don't turn down too many requests to go out it's easy to stay cooped up once you live solo and don't have stuff like school as an easy shared hobby
Far and away my favourite video was really knowledgeable, interactive with asking politely for people to leave opinions on the mic for example, new recommendation on a game to maybe try out the list goes on and on over all. Fabulous video 👍.
Mic sounds good. Love your vids keep up the good work. NGL I'm trying to be like you and its seriously hard. Like regular habits were hard and then I started reading Atomic Habits you said it was pretty good and the things in the book changed how I do stuff and it gave me more time for my yt channel and streaming. Hopefully YT becomes a regular habit soon. P.S. when moving take the necessary things or the things you have and know. Stuff you haven't seen in a while and haven't used probably shouldn't go.
This is the first video of yours I've watched, and the presentation and enthusiasm level is perfect for this type of content. I've subbed and am about to check out your channel and probably watch a handful of vids. Good luck on moving!
big uhaul is very nice. when I moved I REGRETTED the big clear plastic boxes. They take up so much room and hardly fit anything tbh. bags/putting with other stuff like inside the dresser I had was much more space efficient.
hey Mason! i LOVE your videos (day in the life's especially) and it has inspired me to make my own. I redid everything on this channel for it to because i want to make healthy changes to my life and record it along the way. Im filming one now to! Keep up the good work and keep making great content!
I moved around 5 months ago; out of my parents' place. I rent out a one bed, one bath apartment & I basically rebought everything for my apartment and left my old furniture, etc. in my old room. Made it much more easier to move rather than having to get a Uhaul. Although planning on buying a house soon so thats going to be a way bigger process.
Make sure to pack a box of essentials so that way the day you move in, you will have things like toilet paper, toothbrush & toothpaste, etc. The moving van (depending on the company you rent one from) requires you to clean it out after or you will be fined. Make sure to sweep it out- it will save you unnecessary $ :) Since your couch is a light color, just make sure to protect it from rubbing on the ground when moving it out. Good luck, and YOU GOT THIS!!! You could start buying some pantry essentials to make the transition to living on your own easier too. I hope this helps :)
New mic sounds great! My biggest piece of advice for moving would be to label everything, ESPECIALLY the small miscellaneous things that you just kinda throw in whatever box there’s room in. That may not really apply to you since presumably you’ll be unpacking everything at the new spot, but I know when I moved back home after college, there was some stuff I needed right then so unpacked, but then there was also a lot of stuff that I didn’t need living with family b/c they obviously already have dishes, pots & pans, etc, so I left that stuff packed up for when I move back into a place of my own. The problem was, I did good for the most part of packing like all of the kitchen stuff together, all the bedroom stuff together, etc, but then I’d just fill up any empty space in the boxes with the little random items that didn’t need a box of their own. Which would’ve been fine if I’d labeled the boxes, but because I didn’t it took my like a month and a half to find my fingernail clippers 😂 Doing those quick tidy up sessions everyday is such an underrated habit, helps stop it from becoming this overwhelming process since I take care of the clutter and stuff daily, then all I really have to do on a “cleaning day” is dust and vacuum. Anyway, great video and congrats on moving out, excited to see what you create in the new spot!
you r gonna want to organize by the room so like take everything for you setup in one trip set that up and then do the living room stuff and set that up so you aren’t so stressed and it will be soooooo much easier
W vid. I genuinely wonder why people don't actually use lavs and just hide them instead of hold the mic. That trend just confuses me 😅 The DJI mic and the rode both sound great! I think the DJI has a wider frequency spectrum or a different EQ curve which makes it sound a bit better though. Also for moving, def keep as many og boxes for monitors or other fragile things like PC, etc. anything else wrap in blankets. shove your mirror between your matress and box spring or even the couch. pack things as tightly as possible as things break if they're moving around in the truck. Pack boxes as full as you can, use clothes/towels to protect things as well instead of buying packing paper!
I was thinking about making vlogs, I just don’t know how to start. Does anyone have any tips? (I’m a 15 yo track runner that would make videos about my day to day life)
yo Mason, what camera do you think a first time buyer should get for content that is a bit on the cheaper side(vlogs, streaming, phtography, videography)
Hey im also a senior highschool student, 17. I started youtube at 15 and stopped at 16 because of covid and the online schooling stuff (i hate those) and im wandering how did u stay consistent balancing school and youtube?
