Good update, especially with updating masks! Thank you!
Went to a concert last week There was anannoying speaker in front of singer Spoiled a lot off pics But Generative fill made a perfect job INSANE
Thank you very uch, it was really interesting!
very simple explanation in a calm voice. Love it! Thank you.
Thanks so much! I have never used the AI functions with Lightroom Classic. The updating masks after removing objects were so helpful! Cheers!
Great video. I like the masking update. Couldn't you use Gen Remove again on the sand in the first example to create a sharper area instead of the clone tool?
Its still lacking resolution, unless you are applying it in smaller areas, then yes
your sessions are always great , thank you
You're most welcome!
Thank you Collin. This a great tutorial. Nevertheless I have a problem when I choose the erasure tool the picture turns from color into black and white? Only when using the erasure tool!! What goes wrong? Kind regards from The Netherlands
Thank you for this video so many of them blitz through without actually showing you how to do things …this was excellent been trying to decide on getting lightroom this has made my mind up…new subscriber now .
When i try to remove a person it just replaces the person with a deformed version of another person.
Excellent session. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
its strainge because none of this works for me,, I always revert back to photoshop because I never have a problem there....
Thank you! You look very much like George W.Bush and you move your lips exactly the same way as he does. I got a choc when I opened your video... 🙂
Great to know, just need to practise more cos I can’t get it work the way I expect, thanks again!
My items gets selected but does not get removed? Any Idea why?
Thanks Collin for more great tips - It's OK for quick edits but still prefer to jump into Photoshop for anything further, also it's really slow compared to photoshop and a little more clumsy in this early access state. But like I said - a great time saver for quick fixes and great tool to have within Lightroom.
Thanks for sharing!
very simple and effective steps 👏
Update Masks--AMAZING! Great tips, thank you!
Thanks for watching!
Excellent. Subscribed
Is scribble select available in Photoshop? Or just Lightroom?
LR and ACR
Photography is now Redundant, or will be very soon, camera manufacturers be aware!
I don’t agree with that
Scribble Select ! Great description.
👏🏾👍🏾🙏🏾 🏴🇸🇪🇹🇹
My results are very bad. I used only for remove small areas that are left in photo corners, like a bit of a chair, or a table or a foot or some small debris. And the IA generates more of the thing I want to remove. For example I have a small rock in the corner of a grass floor. Select and generate, and it gives me more rocks or different rocks. I still need to go to photoshop to get better results.
Hi Colin! Thanks for a great video! I have one question. The "update all masks" in my panel is grayed out. I followed your Gazebo picture instructions to a tee but it remains grayed out. Any ideas? Thanks,
Had you created any masks before applying ai remove?
Thanks Colin for the quick response. I went over you video again to make sure I was ding it right and it still didn't work. So I uninstalled, rebooted my computer, and re-installed LR Classic. Same problem. My MAC laptop is 7 years old but I've haven't had any other issues so I don't think it's the computer. Thanks again for everything you do.
I did not know about removal before masking. I have also found that the masks can also interfere with the color adjustments too. On the other hand, a subject mask can adjust and remove from the background very well. For example, i use lens blur on the background pretty often.
I bet by the end of 2024 you're going to to hit 500K. I am literally in the middle of editing a wedding and I have a few 'bubbles' that found the "B&G" faces. I'm going to check out your technics right now. Thanks!
Collin, great tutorial. I've had issues with masking prior to using AI. this helps a lot. Thanks
Informative video. I love this tool although it will be more impressive at full rez if that comes along. I use it for spot or small object removals.
This tool really is insane, and it's only in the beta version. Amazing, hands down.
Thank you for explaining and showing us how to use this new update so clearly, deeply appreciated~~!
This was fantastically useful. You are the best tutor with excellent tutorials. thank you so much for your generous heart in teaching us all wannabes.
Thanx Colin,,,learned some stuff that makes using this tool much easier to get the results I want.
Interestingly I used this technique on a few of my images and the AI left "ghosting" artifacts, thoughts? ie. the previous- in this case person, was still faintly visible...In PS terms 30 percent opacity. In PS i do not have this same issue.
Run it again over the ghosts
@@photoshopcafe Thanks I will try.
Fabulous, I use it, but I learned a lot more. Thank you
Thank you very much Colin, you are great!!!
Very informative - thank you
That’s great. Had no idea. Thanks.
Thank you for the deeper dive. I've had a few of the problems you covered, and my mistake was doing the mask first. It's nice to know that you can update the mask. At times, it still seems to have trouble (less now), but this is the first version. What a powerful tool for Lightroom. I'm picky, and no one covers advanced techniques like you!
Glad it was helpful!
Feelin' great after my photoshopCAFE hit. Thank you so much Colin. Excellent post as always. Much appreciated.
Thanks!
Update Ai mask was very helpful, great tutorial again.
Glad you think so!
Very useful! Thanks!
those are great examples 👍
Thanks! 😃
Thank you so much. I watched a previous video on this but this episode went a little deeper.
Glad it was helpful!
Great tip...thank you...
Great tips as always. Thanks
Nice!
Very helpful tools to try and play with Colin!
Glad you liked it!
You answered so many of my questions thank so much
Happy to help!
Very helpful Colin, thanks 👍
Happy to help
brilliant
Great tutorial, Colin. Thank you!
My pleasure!
Is this exclusive to Lightroom or do we have it in Photoshop ACR too?
Yes - it's in ACR too - not sure why you would use it there though when you have much more control in Photoshop
It's in ACR 0.09 secs into the video
@@blackislepeastoo sorry, my mistake.
Just because of 1024res. it is not of any value for me. I wonder if the res. will change when early access becomes full access.
Gr8 video Colin. I`m still converned about this 1024 resolution thing though. Is there any way to improve this, like you did with your Action in Photoshop to improve the quality, or when printing, have you still got to go over to Photoshop and remove objects using that Action that you gave us all? Cheers Colin
Usually I'm not removing big elements, and a soft background after removing a distracting element is not an issue for most of my images. But when it is, and when I can't clone in sharper background as Colin shows in this video, I can usually avoid the problem by removing smaller chunks in multiple passes, or using Remove in PS. But then my Raw files are only about 23 MB. A photog with a 55 MB full-frame sensor will run into this issue more often than I.
Use for smaller objects than say 1500px which is 5 inches at 300ppi. 1024 is obviously perfect, but you can usually sneak a little extra. For larger distractions, use Photoshop
@@photoshopcafe Thanks for your answer Colin, its much appreciated.
Blurry. Not ready.
Why nobody mentions LR Generative Fill doesn’t do a good job on removing things from the sky ? PS does it better. I find that the engine is different. Everyone is selling the same bag of rocks…😂
