wow! this port is so more modern than in 2012. when we came, together with our pushbikes on the ship, to Aktau. we arrived in the middle of the night and after check at the customs we were allowed to pitch our tents behind the customs building...with 24/7 surveillance. never sleped safer than there. Hope you and Bumblebee will arrive safely in Baku !

Wow. This is obviously all set up for truck transport and not for tourists with motorcycles. It reminded me a little of going across the Sea of Cortez from Topolobampo to La Paz, Baja California, where we had to wait half the night for trucks to lead the ferry. But it must feel good trat the last leg of your world trip. Congratulations!

What a chore eh ? I hope you get a ride back to Lavi , and not still walking ? This vid was posted last September, so you have been back in the UK by now. What a life's experience you've both had ! After a bit of time at home with family, you'll be getting restless !
Having resources like I-Overlander makes things so much easier to navigate these issues hey. Imagine doing it back in the 70's! You needed to take a truck load of Kazakh fuel back to the UK to resell! 🤣

Oh man! What a mission! Ollie reminded me of the Tom Hanks movie Terminal where he's stuck in the terminal alone for 24 hours. What a logistical nightmare! The whole time I was wondering how Ollie gets back to Lavi and how you both get to the other side of the ferry to unload it if they haven't got anyone to ride Bumblebee off. I guess I'll find out! Cliffhanger! 🤣

Good vid. Shipping is a PITA. I helped a friend many times. It's a difficult task, especially just finding out who and where. Always uncertain of arrival and departure times and have been known to blatant outright lies. Sometimes it goes good. That's wonderful. Ships don't get in a hurry

I’m curious as to why you chose a Caspian ferry crossing with all the logistical headaches, instead of applying for a Russian transit visa in Kazakhstan and crossing into Russia , than Georgia … ?
