Great video Nick! I was in Estes Park with my family the same week that you shot this video of Ouzel Falls. My original plan was to do Emerald Lake on Wednesday and Ouzel Falls on Thursday. My daughter and I completed the Emerald Lake hike but there was still so much ice on all the lakes. Even Bear Lake was mostly covered in ice. I photographed all the lakes but I was hoping the ice would have been melted or at least mostly melted. That was not the case. I still enjoyed the hike and there were so many great views out there. My micro spikes definitely came in handy as I saw so many people struggling to walk on the snow & ice without them. When we were about to leave Emerald lake, I told my daughter "It's time to head on back." :) Anyway, based on the amount of snow and ice on the Emerald Lake hike, I decided to wait on the Ouzel Falls hike until the fall when I can photograph all the water features in all their glory without the ice. Your video was a treat as I got to see the trail in the icy conditions. I am glad I decided to wait but I was thrilled when I saw you had posted this video. When we got home from our trip, I watched it on my 70" TV at home with my family! Thank you so much for posting your videos! I've commented before and I'll say it again....your videos are awesome! Love it! Have this one scheduled (now that you have to make reservations) here in a short bit. Thanks for the trail report. Hope that ice melts. Hate carrying spikes from October to July, but it is CO.

Nice one Nick. The big melt is so slow this year. I'm okay with it if it puts a damper on fires later in the summer.
I was out there today saying "let it rain!" The more the better. No more fires!
