Terrific vid. Not only are you educating the cleaning tech but you're actually "killing two birds with one stone". "How long will it take to dry?" is probably asked during every phone call with a customer. This video helps techs make happier customers through quicker dry times and better results(three birds) along with a happier customer. Happy customers, Happy Cleaners. Great Job!
Thanks Andy. There are so many reasons to get the carpet dry as fast as possible but the paramount on sis customer satisfaction. Clients are amazed when the carpet is dry to the touch when you leave. That is a last impression that will be difficult to reproduce by another cleaner because most won't or don't take the time. This a great way to separate ourselves from the pack of so many carpet cleaners. Glad you enjoyed it!
Glad I could help. Really if you think about it all of us carpet cleaners need reminders at times. I have cleaned for 30 years and still learn and relearn everyday fro carpet cleaning, water damage and rugs. Carpet cleaning is not rocket science but it's close. :-)
Thank you for the positive comment. I am working on a high quality DVD to help business owners manage their employees and give them a visual for improvement. Thanks again.
Perfect video! Also up here doing carpets when it's 20°F we use fans as we go. But also a great way to dry carpets when it's icy cold outside will ask the customer if they can turn the heat up to 75°F for a few hours as the baseboard heaters, or forced hot air will help tremendously. Then turn the heat back down as normal by dinner time.
Yes make more videos. Even us know it asks need to re learn. God one here. Paramount step in carpet cleaning. Get them dry. Asap. Every customer ask this question so out must be super important to them.
Great video. Thank you. Although I've never been a fan of drying strokes. It may be the speed and pressure I clean at, but I've found that dry strokes are not very effective. I suppose if I had less recovery from my system it might be more effective.
Different strokes for different folks. If it works for you then don't fix it. One thing I have learned is you can cut down on dry strokes if you move a slower pace and focus on quality carpet cleaning rather than speed cleaning. Speed and pressure make a huge difference so your right on target. We really don't need as much pressure as we think. I prefer flushing with volume rather than pressure. But a happy medium probably best for most carpet cleaners.
I always learn a lot from your videos. One thing I have to ask is this. When dealing with pet stains, is it smart to use Clorox 2 color safe bleach. I have been told that is OK. I just will ask you since you would know. I hope you and your family have a fun and blessed holiday season.
Peroxide in liquide or preferably powdered formula is what most professional carpet cleaners use. Then they replicate the urine by flooding it with peroxide based products that will kill and remove stains that it comes into contact with. Carpet cleaning specific products are better for our industry because they don't contain optical brighteners which actually harm clients carpets esp over time. Hope this helps.
Great work!! Thanks for sharing this informative video!! Like others, I am also concerned about the dry time of carpets. I have dealt with quite a few carpet cleaning professionals and found "Steamex Eastern" very effective. Looking for others to share their experience. Thanks!!
Thanks for the tips! Is there a way to tell how much moisture you are leaving in the carpet immediately after the job? My hydrosensor just beeps above 17% so it doesn't help and just feeling the surface tells me nothing about what's within the carpet and/or pad. If any part of the carpet cleaning system is off a little I can leave a lot of moisture without knowing it.
You could get a Protimeter. They measure in LED. Just don't forget there is no such thing as 100% dry. Everything needs a bit of moisture. Your skin is dry but it still has moisture. We just need it dry to the touch to be effective. I feel that is what carpet cleaners should strive for,dry to the touch carpet cleaning Matt.
@@TruckMountForums water can be as high as 300 degrees as it leaves the truck. It does cool down some as it makes its to carpet. Is cold water cleaning meant for natural fibers?
Simple, do extra dry passes with your wand ask owner if they have any fans and if there is ceiling fans you can turn them on. And open windows if weather permits or turn on or off heating and Air. There you go ...
Zoid Burg Rug Doctor! LMAO! That's like saying a Ford Pinto will out run a Lamborghini! Well let's see. Rug Doctor has a 2 gal tank maybe 100 psi. Average TRK mount has a 100 gallon tank with100 to 2000 psi. No comparison at all. Also try cleaning the whole house with it. They don't call them back breakers for nothing. By the time you rent one and buying Chems you may as well hire someone.
Years of knowledge right there in under 8 minutes. Thanks Rob!
Great tips Rob. I`ve been cleaning carpets for over 25 yrs and have learned something from your video. Thanks for taking the time to teach us!
Thank you Ron. Positive comments like yours motivates me to make more. We can all learn from each other as iron sharpens iron my friend.
Wow! This was fast and informative. I already knew most of this but I don't think I could have expressed it so well and so fast. Thank you.

What do you recommend for blood on carpet? That's always been a pain to keep from wicking.
Solvex

Is there a reason for using power from your truck or van instead of using power from your customer's home?

Tip 21 change your wand jets every year. They get blown out.
Richard Grindland yep and don't forget to clean the screen too. They get rust and all kinds of stuff clogged in them. Been there and done that before.
Great video

Too bad we can't leave behind high speed air movers. They dry carpet super fast.
Great tips if you don't follow TMF your missing out. Sign up and find out more. Rob pushed the envelop on cleaning.
You look so young! Lol. Good stuff Rob
Hotter the better?
Live steam is disastrous to carpet.
You do know that Truckmounts can only deliver about 200 degrees to the carpet interface right?

Professional Carpet Cleaning in the south you never can do the open window thing. Too much Humidity. AZ maybe.
Meanwhile, in England we use a Rug Doctor and none of the van or crazy hoses are necessary... lol. I'd love to know how much you charge?
You need to watch the video "Rug Doctor vs Truck Mount" to see why your statement is not logical.

You have no reason to know this, but Rug Doctor machines are junk. Any truckmount will blow them away.
You want fast dry time tell em don’t get it done tip number 37
Is that herpes? Question 2: Will a carpet cleaner get that out?
Airpaths, airpaths, airpaths airpaths period
Great video
