People do get banned, but the cheaters make a new acc. The problem is that there is no hardware ban
Get them to say something slightly bad, Report them for inappropriate communication, they get banned the next day. works every time!!

Last night I faced a cheating Ashe/Widow with a pocket Mercy, 25 minutes later I wanted to show a friend the replay and I noticed the cheater and his pocket changed their Battletags! I also faced a cheater today in Quickplay who was bad I didn't even notice he was cheating until he swapped to Widow.. the sad part is that I get Thank you report messages from Blizzard for reporting toxic people but I haven't had any thank you messages since I reported those cheaters.. they are still going and that's just sad.
hard felt that "thank you for reporting" message. get one almost every time i load into the game and it's always for toxic behaviour or someone saying slurs
Yeah, if ive ever reported cheaters it usually takes until the next season to get a thank you for reporting message.
That first one wasn’t even subtle, good grief. The opposing team must have fuming once they started on Echo because the aimbot was blatantly obvious at that point. Imagine being so bad that you have to cheat like this. Stacks with cheaters are even worse because they’ll do everything they can to bail their cheating friends out with no consequences.
i must be either extremely lucky or blissfully unaware because i cant remember any cheaters in my games

I only play QP and have been playing since OW1 launched. Can’t say I’ve ever seen a cheater. Not an obvious one at least. I got accused of cheating as hanzo for randomly sniping an invisible sombra once lol
I used to play unranked in apex and would see a couple of cheaters a month. There were probably more than that, but I would only spectate if I died in a suspicious way. Though when there are 60 players per match it makes sense that you’d run into cheaters more often.

The echo was shooting every shot individually. I think the snap was more obvious because they weren't holding fire (like the snap and fire are both mapped to lmb)

Yeah, if a Widow holds their ult for the whole game there's a pretty good chance they're cheating.
10:21 that is an incredibly hard shot to hit. That was a headshot on a sleeping dva from a weird angle
Yeah i was thinking they had some sort of soft aim that will adjust your aim to headshot if you aim close to their head
Paying for cheats in a free-to-play game is really sad

My duo thinks I'm crazy but this is why i watch killcams so closely. In the beginning, while obvious in the replay it would be difficult to tell that the Widow was cheating while in the middle of playing the game.
I played about 6 games yesterday and stopped playing because I had 2 different widows cheating back to back. And it was funny they both said this game will be easy. So I stopped playing seeing that zero fun

Someone testing the cheats they just got. Imagine if there was something to detect someone using cheats.
Ive said it before and ill say it again. Let all accounts now stay active and have the game buy 2 play again for new accounts. Ow1 didnt have this big of an issue becuz it was buy to play. Putting a price point for a new account makes hackers less likely to make new accounts.
yeah its even enough if they would sell it for 10 or 20 bucks,.
Give the people some goodies for buy it, lika a free skin or one time free battlepass and all is good.
As someone who plays QP mostly...you'd be surprised how many people are actually cheating...
I rarely see any cheaters in qp but in my comp masters games i see them once in a while
I found a cheating bap in qp the other day, seemed like a bought account guy was t500 on dps every season except the current one and just perfectly tracked a ball slamming over and over again, literally never missed and then just snapped to a sombra randomly
Same, I play quick play more than comp and I don’t know maybe I’ve just never noticed before now and I don’t know if this has anything to do with it but I was having really good games with a friend and we got an enemy soldier that had an aim bot and wall hacks and then the next night there was another soldier with slight aim bot but he wasn’t good. I swear its the only real cheaters I’ve personally encountered.
I just had a game with a guy who would use a mouse to get kills, but used controller to cover it up (on console)
Quick PSA, if you ever suspect someone is cheating on a projectile character (NOT A HITSCAN), you can throw off the predictive aim snaps by strafing A LOT and trying to make sure you dont jump (jumping makes the predictive snap even easier to track)
this is probably a dumb question but I don't really know anything about how cheats work. by strafing, how much strafing is helpful? what I mean is, is a simple back and forth movement enough or should we be doing a more complex "hold left for 2 seconds, right for 1 second, left for 1 second, right for 2 seconds" sort of movement? sorry if that doesn't make sense. also, does crouch spamming help against this type of cheats or is it too predictable of a movement?
(note to self: you really gotta stop spamming jump all the time, it's fun to press buttons but it's not good)

Second widow definitely had soft aim which is a more "realistic" looking aimbot

Echo is a hero alot of people cheat on (I play phara) the amount of times I’ve watched a game back to be pre fired or sticky by echo is unreal. They use hit scan cheats so it doesn’t look obvious but with echo when’s she’s close you barely have to lead. Also most of the time the beam is the toggle to always confirm the half hp kills

i just had a widow and mei in my game with aim hacks and wall hacks it took one headshot from the widow for everyone on my team to realize they were cheating it was crazy it was my first time being in a game w aim bot and actually seeing it in the killcam

why no ip-ban or hardware ban for cheaters? Has Blizzard such a low playerbase in OW that they have to accept cheaters?
Instead of sending these vods to prominent streamers, we should be able to send them straight to blizzard. Cant get much more proof than that

I get that emongg doesn't want people to harrass othrts but I'm all for blatantly exposing the cheaters' names - even their stacks. People should know and report them immediately if they get in a game with them. Don't protect people who have zero respect and integrity themselves
On PC the names are not unique, so someone innocent with the same name might be flamed and/or punished unjustly

It's an option in the streamer mode for OW. He uses it to hide the real names, to avoid people brigading against the players

What's with the names on this vod? Is that a recent change?
There is a setting that anonymizes all the player names in the game so that people don’t watch this video and do something stupid like harass the players/doxx them etc. Cheaters obviously suck but sometimes people take things too far.

@@The_LadyAJ I promise you the game assigning every player in a replay with this mode on a random set of numbers is not dehumanizing and should not at all be compared to how it happens irl or in literature. It’s better for anonymity as plenty of people can have the same usernames so innocent ppl can get in the crossfire if it showed either streamer names or their real usernames.

The echo and the entire echo’s team needs to be reported and banned for not caring they have a cheater and still trying to play with an unfair advantage like I get a cheater on my team I’m gonna throw because I can always win games if I’m not trash😂😂
others have pointed out that names aren't unique and can be changed you could get someone unjustly banned that way
