Usually there are loads of demos and made in various stages of the production of a song. So in this case, this was probably like a near final version and they probably finished most of it before sending it to Kylie. But other demos that are more rough around the edges are probably usually from earlier stages of the production process, and especially if the artist is involved with the production process themselves, because then they would probably even record a demo of it themselves.
