I like the way you sum it all up....Gao Hui's talent or skills are no where near Gao Jie's because Gao Hui's heart and mind is evil and bad always thinking the worst of everyone especially Gao Jie so her designs cannot come out pure and special, just plain ordinary and Yu Yi is not helping by siding and promoting her instead of encouraging her to improve on her skills....if you really and truly love her you will encourage her to better herself not just her skills and not to condone her evilness and maliciousness towards GaoJie..
For Gao Jie she doesn't need to scheme and manupilate behind the scenes or any support from Yu Zhi. All she needs are her own skills and help from the three old masters and the 10% space from her aunt GM Mu Ziyun.....

If you mean Gao Jie to be Cinderella then her scheming was for the good of the company and also to help the three old masters jewellers to still be able to keep their jobs and to be able to show the world the traditional craftsmanship us still alive. It's not bad scheming like what yuyi and gao hui were doing to just promote herself but not the company.
