Exploring Bedford Basin near Bedford Waterfront in Bedford, Nova Scotia

  • Dived 1-9 meters depth in mill cove near Bedford Waterfront with low visibility due to a large amount of fluid and sediments floating in the water. I was very glad to see these amount of sea creatures during the winter time such as lobsters, crabs and few school of small fish. I was very surprised to find a Christmas tree; it seems like someone intentionally sunk it there with a concrete foundation and a rope.

    There are dozens of cars piled up at the bottom of the basin but close to the Wrights Cove side (north of the MacKay Bridge). They either fell off a cargo ship or the ship itself sunk (before being salvaged with the cars left on the bottom). It would be cool to see some scuba footage of it but it might be too far out in too deep of water for it to be safe to investigate.

    scuba dive? and is it legal to catch lobster from this area?

      No. Only licensed fisherman can legally catch lobster in Nova Scotia.
