Hey everyone, Thanks so much for watching and all the comments - really appreciate all the support and means a lot to me! A few people asking about my accent, I grew up near North-West London; my grandparents came across from Ireland before my dad was born (gran was from Mayo and grandad was from Offaly). So I grew up in the UK but was always very proud of my Irish 'roots', I began representing Ireland in cycling when I was 18 and did so throughout my career. Then I was incredibly lucky to meet my partner, Stacey, who is from Waterford.. and have been based/living in this area since! I love Ireland and hope to show it off a bit more in future GCN vids. So many interesting/unknown/beautiful places here! Thanks so much for the support everyone and the positive comments.. been so nice to hear from you all and I'm looking forward to sharing more of my GCN adventure! Enjoy the riding, Conor P.s Yes, that is a normal sized guitar ;)
Great video! Such an interesting and down-to-earth bloke. I was fortunate to visit Dublin a couple times, but only for a few days total. Loved it, but wish I had the chance to see some other areas, especially some of the countryside
Aw thank you, glad you have been enjoying the content! I feel very lucky to have this role and enjoying it so much. Looking forward to sharing more mad adventures and challenges on the channel soon :)
Connor has to be one of my favourite presenters. Humble, amusing and ready for a laugh all the time. Don't change please, you must ha e been a great team mate to have. The pelotons loss is GCN's gain.👍😊
What a genuine and uplifting account of a modestly decorated career in the sport (very clearly your lifes' passion). Feel as though I've really grown to appcreciate you as a presenter after this! All the best guys
I would honestly like to hear the full version of the "Bada Boo Bada Bada" song. It sounded like a song we all need to hear during these tough times. I smiled so hard. I needed that and could use some more.
Thanks Conor, as a fellow 2m+ rider always enjoyed following your pro career especially with an eye on how being tall didn't seem to hold you back. Love your input and enthusiasm on GCN, keep up the good work.
It’s refreshing seeing someone who doesn’t “fit the typical cyclist profile” succeed. I don’t have a 89cm frame like he does but I’m still far above the average height like Conor. 😂 Keep it up!
Thanks Daniel, those words mean a lot!! Hopefully I can keep the tall flag flying for us all here at GCN :) Thanks again for the support and enjoy the riding! Conor
I'm 6'5 (60yrs old) living in SoCal and I get a few stares when people see me out riding. So I share a kindred spirit with you as a tall rider. I really enjoy your GCN opinions and commentary. Keep up the good work. Ride on.
I'm 6'5 (195.5 cm in your language) so it's nice to see another giant out there. Maybe GCN will now get some kit in store for those of us that aren't vertically challenged. ;)
An utterly fab bloke. Despite being brought up in the South of England, he emerged largely unscathed. Funny, he bangs on about Co. Waterford. Although trapped by travel restrictions in France now, in a previous life I achieved the almost ultimate distinction of winning a County Championship in Ireland..... but whenever our club sallied forth on a ride eastwards, crossed the bridge after Youghal and ventured into County Conor Dunne, a dark cloud would descend over us. At Dungarvan, we'd have had enough, labour back up that horrid climb and thankfully cross back into The Rebel County. Well done, Conor.
This was by far one of most enjoyable GCN presenter videos! Connor, you are a gentle giant. I loved that you talked about the noncycling things that make you happy, chickens, swimming and the ukelele. It was also fun that Nigel interviewed you.
Wonderfully, sincere, and likable presenter who seems to be the kind of fellow you hope your children would have as a friend. So humble. Thanks for sharing!
I live in Donegal and went down to Sligo to see you win the Irish National Champs. You rode away from the break and stormed home. No one could pull you back. You got SUCH a great reception. Brilliant
Great intro to life in The Dunne Household and your career. Me and the young lad loved your Giro diaries in The Indo and your role on GCN. The very best wishes on the media career. If you ever get accosted in Waterford by a short ginger kid asking you a million cycling questions, it will probably be my young lad after he drags me down to your neck of the woods
I love the energy, fun and smiles Connor brings to GCN! I am 6'6" and it's nice to have a presenter to look up to. Looking forward to many more videos with Connor!
Yes he's a real gentleman's addition to the GCN team, very humble extremely at that and he as a very positive an honest spirit about everything he does on the show. Whether he wins a challenge or not he's very positive still. Very admirable guy indeed. Gentle giant. Excellent choice GCB made. Nothing seem to get the guy down at all. Always humble.
Hhaha I'm ashamed today that was a genuine reaction too... I was in that shed for a good while before the rat showed itself!! Thanks for the nice comment.. appreciate all the support! Conor
Love you Connor you are a genuine gentleman...love the video with your baby...you got this kid. You are a great presenter and real asset to the GCN lineup!
Great Video Conor. Great addition to the GCN Team. Love seeing Ireland in the GCN videos as well. Such a great place for cycling. Can you come up for a spin round the North?
You answered all my questions here Conor. Watching your videos I was trying to place in Ireland where you were. Settled on Galway, so I was surprised to hear that you were in probably the most underrated and beautiful corners of the island, Waterford. I'm nearly 6'5" and can find it tough getting equipment and bikes so I can imagine that you had to battle hard to get where you did in your career. Best of luck with the new adventure.
Awesome! Your meet the presenter was worth wait for 😊 My new favorite presenter, sorry Lloyd and Simon. Maybe it has something to do with being 6'3" myself. Awesome career 👍🏼 Hope to see you GCN for a long time....
I’m 15 years old and I’m 193cm and I’m also wondering how tall were you when you were my age and I’m a bit worried that i can’t ride bikes anymore if i grow more.
You will be able to ride bikes if you carry on growing, don't worry! It might be a little more complicated to get a bike that fits properly but it's not a barrier to cycling!
Such a warm and hearty person for the jolly team, thank you for the clip! I think it's rude to ask about the personal measurements, but I had a thought about difficulties in bike sizing for a fellow who isn't near the median heigts. I guess pro's are used to have their frames made for them as unique measurements so maybe it's not that big deal. :)
With the Ukulele playing for a minute I thought we were live in Hawaii and the Five-O theme tune was about to burst into life. However we're live in Ireland with great views and what appear to be quiet roads but still with lots of sun & surf! Looking forward to your GCN contributions, Conor.
Connor is so loveable. Such an interesting, yet normal guy. Dispels the idea that the cycling elite are any different than the rest of us. The COVID restrictions have created some interesting videos, that have inadvertently opened avenues for us to know the GCN presenters a lot more personally. Similarly to Dan’s video on clipless pedals starring his wife Lorraine and the video with a cameo of Si’s whippet. Great job guys! (Term inclusive of Manon)
Can't wait to see Nigel's presenter video, what an absolute legend!!..... ..Conor, you have brought back some of the charming good natured presenting from the early days of Si, Matt and even when Lloydie road a bike. Great to hear your story and as an almost 2m chap loved the start of this one. Take care from Oz (btw we never spell it like that, Aus for us)
This is class, what a guy and what a career! Pure, honest fun! Can't wait to see more videos with the rest of the GCN team once we get through lockdown!
Good video to get a background of Conor, a really good addition to the team and behind the fun, a really good bike rider. It must be great to have been a national champion, being able to wear you country’s colours on you sleeve must be a great honour. Good banter with Brother in Law Nigel as well.
Keep it up Conor your infectious love enthusiasm is great in the modern world and you always manage to make me laugh, can give you no better comment than you seem like a genuinely nice human being, the smile on the wee ones face clearly shows the happiness of the home.
Great addition to the team and I really enjoy your videos Conor. Very humble and nice guy. Always good to have brother in law Nigel in the videos too ;) (and the rest of the fam as well now haha). All the best buddy!

Great video! Such an interesting and down-to-earth bloke. I was fortunate to visit Dublin a couple times, but only for a few days total. Loved it, but wish I had the chance to see some other areas, especially some of the countryside
I'm a Irish cyclist too wish there could be a gcn Ireland wanted to make a Ireland gcn but not yet
I think he lied about the ukulele, that's definitly a normal sized guitar
It might even be a bass cello !!
Best part was he knew the second verse
You got me!!! :)
you know the saying; big feet and hands = big guitar
Such a sympathetic lad. I am really glad to see a presenter like this with GCN.
Conor is such a great addition to the GCN team - really funny, likeable, goofy and humble. Cheers Conor.
Aw thank you, glad you have been enjoying the content! I feel very lucky to have this role and enjoying it so much. Looking forward to sharing more mad adventures and challenges on the channel soon :)

Aw thanks Christoper, appreciate those words!

Haha thank you!!! Think my partner Stacey is getting sick of it by now though if i'm honest !
what an incredibly humble guy. i just love his quirky way and smile. he definitely is a keeper.
Conor has a great attitude and appears to appreciate what has been given him. Well done that man.
Thanks Conor, as a fellow 2m+ rider always enjoyed following your pro career especially with an eye on how being tall didn't seem to hold you back. Love your input and enthusiasm on GCN, keep up the good work.
Cheers Daniel, much appreciated! Stay safe and happy riding

Great video, but where is Ollie's meet the presenter? We must know more about this engineer baker Yorkshireman!
Good question, Ollie's a bit shy
Global Cycling Network that is a good suggestion! We want Ollie’s Video
@@gcn It will be a highly requested video for sure.
He's a fellow PhD Chemist not engineer - not that I'm fussy or anything ;-)
@@gcn Very shy: never flexes his chemistry knowledge :D
"Ppl is pointing the pot holes but nobody is pointing at the branches..." You are very funny dude!

That 440 watts for 46 minutes was insane dude!
Love to see connor and the team do the wild atlantic way costal route ☺
Me too Tom... one of my favourite parts of the world!
Such a likeable character, great addition to the team! 👍
Thank you :)
The only current presenter with earned national stripes on his CGN kit.
Hasn't Manon won some national titles too during her career?
@@manuel7102 Only on track and most in the under-23 category. Her only "full" title is in the team pursuit.
What about Jeremy Powers? He's 4 times national cyclocross champion.
Marek Holub Why the “only on track”?
@@thomlarson681 lol right? It doesn't count if you're under 23 and it's only on a track. Those aren't real awards apparently.

Aw thank you , appreciate those words. Thank you for watching and happy riding. Conor
In an industry that ignores the super tall like myself, I'm really happy to see Conor on the GCN team.
I live in Donegal and went down to Sligo to see you win the Irish National Champs. You rode away from the break and stormed home. No one could pull you back. You got SUCH a great reception. Brilliant
I bet that's really a standard size guitar.
This should be comment of the week

Conor, you have a natural presence in front of the camera. I am so glad you joined the presenter ranks. You make everything look like fun.
I love the energy, fun and smiles Connor brings to GCN! I am 6'6" and it's nice to have a presenter to look up to. Looking forward to many more videos with Connor!

Hhaha I'm ashamed today that was a genuine reaction too... I was in that shed for a good while before the rat showed itself!! Thanks for the nice comment.. appreciate all the support! Conor
I never saw someone be so genuinely excited about a race he was last in. Proper “joy de vivre”, life’s a big adventure to him. Made my day !
Conor - why don't you have a "proper" Irish accent like brother-in-law Nigel? Great vid - glad you are a part of the GCN team!!!
Just guessing: nobody in the team understood him, so he trained it off..
He was born in St. Albans. Guessing that might have something to do with it.
Love you Connor you are a genuine gentleman...love the video with your baby...you got this kid. You are a great presenter and real asset to the GCN lineup!

Connor, top bloke and a character 👍
Good video. Interesting to see ‘behind the scenes’ of each presenter. Makes it easier to connect with them and ‘trust’ the advice being given.
Hey Conor, did you know, Dan was in the Cervelo test team?
I love watching the presenter videos, it is so cool to earn a bit about you and where you came from!
Love your reaction to the rat “oahooo a raaaaaat”!!! Hahaha
Such a sense of humor. Glad GCN brought Conner on board.
Have to agree with Conor,
Waterford and the copper coast road is a must for every cyclist, stunning views at every turn
the rat scene was my favorite. so unscripted! love it. glad they didnt cut it.
Connor, you are a gem! So happy your are part of the GCN team👍
Great presenter with infectious enthusiasm for cycling

Really good vid Connor. Been watching yer stuff from the An Post days. A great ambassador for Irish cycling through the years.

Yes please.

Wow. One of the best meet the GCN presenters videos. It is about time GCN got a fellow 6ft8incyclist.

Thanks Conner (and Nigel), an excellent video. And I'd say both your bikes were super nice!
Lovely honest and down to earth video from a great new presenter 👍
I like how you directly address your brother-in-law as "Oi, brother-in-law, ..."
He is a great addition to the GCN crew, he comes across as so warm and generous with his time. When do we get a meet Nigel though?
Great video. Very inspiring and humbling
connor seems like a dream come true for any rider in the bunch
You are such a great presenter. Thanks, bro.

Thanks Christopher!! Happy you are enjoying the content. All the best, Conor
Great vid Connor, defo our fav GCN presenter. Respect ✌️
Love Conor, helps that I'm a big bloke myslelf.... well 6' 4" and an 1/8, now wonder I'm always on front. Cheers and keep up the good work!
