Late to the party, as ever, I played Undertale for the first time at the tail end of last year. Like so many others, I was so taken with its story and atmosphere, in all of its most heartfelt moments as well as its many moments of comedy and darkness. What a game! Although there is much music in Undertale that is important to fans (myself included), Snowy was the one that stuck with me the most immediately, and naturally I wanted to try it out on the harp.
I've added a small second harp part to reference the original track's violin lines - I filmed this on my last evening with the Malvern electroacoustic that I borrowed from Pilgrim Harps, before I had to take it back to them. It's a lovely harp and I miss it, so this was like a little farewell for it. It blended really well with my Style 30 and has such a big sound, even though the Malvern is smaller and more compact than a full-size concert harp.
Snowy is a really interesting study in true staccato, something that the harp isn't well known for, so I think that was the most gratifying thing about working on this for me - if you listen you can hear lots of really short stopped notes in the left hand of the main part, whilst the right hand plays a legato melody which rings out over the top. I think the combination of the two sounds really captivating.

I would ask if you can possibly do covers from the game The Legend of Dragoon, quite possibly one of the greatest games of all time.
Please do more from undertale I have remixes of it on repeat and listen to them all the time.

undertale is so much older than I remember. it feels like just yesterday I heard about this fun pixelated adventure. I obsessed over it and I didn't play it till like 3 years later.
Very enchanting. Reminds me of final fantasy bits. Please if you have not yet listened to Stones from Ultima on the grand piano via you tube, I highly recommend you listen to it. Wow, what a very cleverly written piece. I can 'hear' the appeal. Bit embarrased to confess I didn't know Pilgrim did an electroacoustic version of Malvern. I have a little Progress, that I use with a pick up as my recording harp. Really amazing and big sound. I might just have to try one of these once we're allowed to visit them again. As ever, Amy, you're truly awesome x
