Don't be hesitant do explain how the lock(and future locks) work. When people understand how a joint bends or twists with a technique they are more likely to try it with a partner. I got a friend of mine into a lifetime of martial arts by us watching and doing what we saw in a Richard Starks video back in the early 90's. He was a great teacher when a video teaches two novices how to do standing, guard, and mounted submission techniques.

@@AK_UK_ yes!... You are grabbing and twisting the wrist, if he makes a tight fist, it still makes it even easier as your fingers use the meaty part of the fist to twist!
@@ranjanroy82 the lock is so fast that the opponent doesn't have a chance to punch, but if he does, im expecting him to try, and the other arm will be captured as well.

What if the opponent makes a tight fist, would this technique still work?
