Some tips for people who are watching this video and want a few insights:
When you're base running, you can hold X to tell the guys to run to the next base. (SwitchedOn covered this in his previous video)
If you change your mind and you need them to go back, hold A instead and they'll turn around (or stay at their base, for example, if the batter hits a popup and you want them to touch up before taking off for the next base)
Also, when they're base running, you can jam L and R to make them run faster (that's what the little >>>>>[MAX] meter is when you're running)
If you're having trouble holding the cursor (either for pitching or for hitting) in the spot you want it, you can change the cursor from being "Analog" (you have the stick to where you want the cursor to be, but it goes away if you stop hitting it), to "Digital" (basically you just set the cursor where you want it, think "d pad" vs "analog stick").
Personally, hitting got much easier on Digital, but pitching is more fun in analog.
You can find that in the "Game Operations" settings (I think), you'll know you've got it if you find a menu with 3 options and one of them is greyed out (that greyed out option is the cursor speed for when you have it set to digital)
If you change settings during a game, those settings will only be changed during that game. If you change them from the main menu, they will stay that way.
When you're fielding the ball, A will make you dive and X will make you jump. I've had kind of limited success with it, but I also suck at fielding, lol.
If you're new to baseball video games or baseball in general, go through the practice mode, especially the hitting, and get a feel for how each part of the game operates.
Excellent, thank you for the tips!!!
This video is truely brilliant. Such hard work goes into this, really impressed. 👍🏻 Very helpful.
Thanks Leigh!
Super helpful. This game is brilliant but we are limping along, using Google Translate every couple of minutes. Your video puts us back in the game, big time!
Awesome, thank you! As long as I can help people with this, then I'm happy :)
Thanks so much for taking the time to put this together, Paul. It’s very much appreciated!
No worries :)
Now that's dedication!!! I don't have this game but I sure this will help a lot of people who own it. Keep up the great work 👍
Thanks Jav!
Thank you! Thinking of picking this up. The Old MLB power pros played well.
No worries, its excellent on Switch really is!
I'm late to the party, but it worth saying this. Pawapuro Switch's Succuss mode is actually a remake of the scenario from Powerful Pro Baseball 9 on PS2/GCN. You're given a choice to play for Pawafuru or Akatsuki *High School* and go through three years of Japanese high school baseball tournaments. In the original game, you actually had three more scenarios: Soyokaze, Renren, and Kyuhachi They're all cut off for whatever reason.
Instead, you get My Life mode, which is similar to MLB Power Pro 2008 in that you're a rookie doing *full-time job* as a professional player. So, no, the college thing was wrong.
Treasure Mode is a series of matches where you create a character and play against other teams in order to collect treasure keys that unlock items that raise your stats and skills.
I've been playing my life mode in MLB Power Pros 2008 as a Minnesota Twins, and i have lost every game so far. My player is doing ok, but my teammates suck. 😂
The red and blue blocks are special abilities that the pitchers and hitters have
Ah ok - I heard something about this. Is there an easier way to see them as when they all bunched up like that, they cant be translated.
Fan-fing-tastic. You are my hero!
Awww I’m just one guy 🥴
The one you called arcade mode translates to homerun attack. It's pronounced like homerun attack too.
Ah cool, thank you!
Can someone please help me. I want this game so bad. But , I love the success mode on 2007 and 2008! I have both on ps2. I wanna get 2020 for switch but , it won’t be worth it. If I can’t understand what their saying on the story mode. I mean I’d still just even love to play it. But is there ANYWHERE I can get it translated? Or even subtitles? Please I beg you. I’ve been researching this for the past hour and have gotten no where. But I really really want this game. Badly.
Basically is my only true option google translate?
Unfortunately yea. Or learn Japanese!!
SwitchedOn Question? If you can help me out. As a gamer , what all does it take for recommendations with games or wanting games back? Can you do that? And if you can what all would need to be done?
Anyone figure out how to change the difficulty in pennant mode? The menu you usually use to change it is grayed out once you start the game mode. 10 Games in and want to make some adjustments as I get better.
Found it at last!! Hunted round so many menus lol - its as you get to into the match - the screen with the 2 sets of players displayed. 4th option down is "OPTION / SETTINGS".... I think, I just accidentally clicked off it into a match and now can't quit!! But yea, was 100% in that final menu before the match starts. You can change the COM level overall, or tweak each of the 4 elements individually. Hope that helps!
Ah right ok, that makes sense. I was getting hammered in my first game - then had to go out and couldn't find a way to quit the game at all - Is that right? I had to 'fast play' the rest of it to be able to get back to the menus??
@@SwitchedOn Thanks man, I knew It had to be somewhere. Looking forward to more vids!!
@@sgwood24 No worries! Useful for me to find too :)
damn. wish i could have used your link before i bought it. Do you know how it uses Nintendo Online? i noticed the Japanese eshop mentions it
Ah that's ok, thanks! Yea, there is online play! Not tried it yet.
When I bought it on the eshop, I got a code for something on a Konami website that I haven't checked out yet. It looks like you can play online but I'm not sure if NSO access is region locked (for example, I bought this on a JP account but mostly play it on my NA account)
@@Allpaca No not region locked - you can play online fine with any account. The only thing that is 'locked' will be any DLC in games - i.e. you can only download and use them on the account you bought the game on!
@@Allpaca yeah i dont play sports games much online so it won't bother me if I can't. I wonder if those amiibo cards from the trailer are worth it. What do they do?
Hello quick question, can you play cooperatively? I just imported the game and was curious
Yea, you can!
@@SwitchedOn thank you for the reply ✌🏻
How did you get the translation running over? I'm just having to hold my phone up to my screen to Google translate
Yea, using Google Translate then edited it into the video after :)
@@SwitchedOn I was so hoping you had an epic discovery so I could stream this on Twitch without having to manually do it all myself to make it easier for the viewer & myself
will this translation work for the PS4 version?
Yes I would think so, more or less!
So this is not comeing out in US
Very unlikely.... hasn't been a western release of Power Pro's since the Wii I think!
@@SwitchedOn Damn shame too. it's an awesome series. Fortunately, it's playable on any switch console thanks to the Switch being region free.
Me fail English? That's unpossible!
Is that you Super Nintendo Chalmers!?
