Andrew I just finished the Expression Secession with Zack at SOM this was an amazing expression review! I thought my brain was done with "Zack Nuggets" but I guess not. Thank you!
@ 12:00 you added a note that the for loop expression is more economical written in the numObjects slider as opposed to each individual object layer. Can you explain how you would accomplish that?
I was able to get it figured out thanks to some ChatGPT help. "numObjects" as a variable would not work for me, so I subbed "objectCount" instead. The code I modified from the AI is below: objectCount = 0; for (var i = 1; i
I’ve finally got the rig built! Applied a 23mm camera to adjust perspective. I would like to tie a desaturation transition for all objects not in the foreground that transition with the circle’s rotation.
Hi Andrew! I have a few questions. When I downloaded the rig (thank you SO much btw. I will definitely give credit for the template) Here's where I'm at. I rotated it back to 180 degrees instead of 90. How do I space the objects out to create keyframes to pause on them? I wanted to extend the length to 30 seconds, and I noticed that it stops spinning at 4. How would I go about making it spin longer? I tried clicking the = in the expressions dropdown and used keyframes to make things spin, but it didn't work. Thanks again!
@@anthonyantwhite2280 I do use sliders often when attaching and animating layers along paths, however in this specific final rig it's not necessary. I just used it to explain what was happening at that point in the video.
I had ran into this problem with a project weeks ago. ARGH!!! This is SOOO much better organized than what I started with! Thank you
Hope it's helpful!
@@AndrewMarston absolutely! I figured it out and understood that it’s an alternative. Thank 🙏🏾you
Sweeeeet! Thank you for taking the time to put this tutorial together - it saved me a TON of time on a project this morning!
This is one of the most valuable tutorials on TH-cam! Thank you, Sir!
You Sir and your brother are the best of the best 😇

Thanks for the feedback Dave! Very helpful.
Wow! I am forever grateful for this tut!!!
such is as tut's should be, direct, clear, straight forward.... great job
Thanks Ludwig! Good to hear :-). I tried to keep it concise... And it was still 20+ minutes. I guess that just the nature of expression rigs though.
Thanks! Great job!

Amazing and Pro tutorial
Really useful!
Very useful, thank you.
This is absolutely brilliant, thank you.
What causes the realignment when you switch to 3D?
This was amazing! Wow. Thanks so much. Haven't written this much code in a while. Lol
1st hahaha
Nice job Andrew!
Thanks Duane!

Great video! The gumroad link is currently unavailable for download though
Oops! I forgot to make it public on gumroad thanks for the heads up.
Super helpful! #thanksalot
this works grat, thanks, only problem is, the items dont react to rotation of the guide path, any idea why?
nevermind, i did it bit differently and forgot to add name of the guide layer before "toComp" part of expression, now it workd
Trying to work this this tutorial to build a flexible rig for my project. Why do your Cntrl and Circular paths have a # symbol in blue on each layer?
Was there any use of the "progress" Slider or did I miss something?🤔🥴
@6:53 Nevermind I missed it🤦🏾♂️
