One of the things that has been the most rewarding thing of following the Budgeteers is that always get to see the kindness in people. Venice is a magical place! I am so impressed with how you are able to keep costs down! 👍
For some reason this episode made me so emotional. I’ve missed travelling so much. Even if you miss a train, turn up in a city where you know nobody, there are locals or other travellers who are willing to help, host you, or show you their home. It just restores faith in humanity and they’re memories that last a lifetime. Thank you for your videos guys ❤️❤️
You described that so well 💜 Yeah, its really amazing the kind of welcome you can receive from strangers. And how events can turn around in a blink of an eye- good and bad. But always a good story in the end and memories to cherish 😊 So glad you enjoyed the video. We love to hear your comments 🤗
Venice is one my favorite cities in the entire world. Lived there for a month once. So beautiful and the people are so nice. Loved getting my espresso every morning.Love getting lost. Great video looking forward to more.
How lovely and emotioning to watch my hometown! Places I used to go regularly, cicchetti,... thanks for this! Visiting Venice with locals is a whole different experience!
Great video as the previous ones were! A little question about the boat you took to Burano island, was it a vaporetto or a different tourist boat to get there? I’ve that the taxi boat is extremely pricy, very confusing with all different boats and routes! Thank you 🙏
Its all on the cheap waterbuses. So its all included in the daypass. You gotta hop on and off, and get several new connections but its affordable to see entire Venice this way. Really fun! But try and avoid busy days because otherwise the queues are really long. And we had a quiet day 😅
Absolutely one of the best videos on Venice!! Very well done! Can’t wait to go there perhaps the end of this year or next year! Still doing all the researches to put all the informations together to make that trip happens!! Thank you!!
Thijs is getting much more comfortable and natural talking to the camera in this series which is awesome to see. I bet its not easy! Really enjoying your Italy adventures.
I really love the simplistic way you are portraying this series. There is not much loudness which makes it more relaxing. Also you both are doing pretty good, but if i would really put it then the 3 of you, including Paddy, really make a wonderful team. The chemistry you 3 share really makes your vlogs super. Please try to plan another series with all 3 of you together soon.
Thanks Antonio. So true. One of the reasons we started The Budgeteers. We travelled even though we did not have much money. You can travel with less and have amazing experiences. We wish more people to travel and have such amazing experiences too 💜😃

This is yet another fun and interesting episode. I didn’t think that you guys would be able to do Italy on a budget, but I’m glad that you’ve been proving me wrong. Ugh! Another week of waiting! 😩
Your episodes are really fun to watch. I can honestly say that your ways of spending money inspire people to travel and see the world. It can be very difficult to visit some places like Venice without spending a lot of money. Many thanks to you for sharing the information and making travel easier.
oh amazing!!!!!! thank you so much for your really thoughtful comment. it's true, some places are harder to budget than others but there is always a way to save some money but still see and experience a place! thanks so much for watching and supporting!
wow this walking tour is so much better (for us viewers) than the fast POV biking around Milan. such a postcard worthy episode! thanks to lower tourist arrivals, local spots/grub and those backstreets! that widescreen shot of the floor and ceiling framing the view of Venice... wow what an (exit)entrance!
Yeah we really were lucky with Lorena because she knew what places to go. And we could film it all. So glad you enjoyed this episode 😊💜 Yeah, that exit entrance is amazingly beautiful. The view just hits you instantly 😮

Was happy to see Mahabharata painting at couch surfing host apartment .hope to see e your episodes often and you guys travel often .I don't find some of your previous series such as Kazakhstan and paddys s Thailand mini series in your channel ,have those videos been taken down ?.

That beginning still makes me laugh. Like you’ve never taken a train before. Glad it worked out in the end and you met some cool people and saw great places. Loving this series. Oli.
Hahaha yeah it seems like. Although I've commuted to school and work for many years so I know. But italian trains run differently than belgian ones I guess 🤷♂️ The fun people really made this episode amazing!
Very interesting video and series - I just found out about your channel guys and I’m really enjoying it so far. Just a quick question - What’s the song being played at around min 9.43? Thanks and keep it up!
Tourists are back. There were almost no tourists in 2021 when I visited. It was surreal, but I felt special. There are supermarkets inside Venice. Can save food cost considerably.
This is very helpful for my next travel! Very interesting to do once I go there to Venice. Have you tried using a duffle bag for your travel? I recommend using the Bento Bag from Nomad Lane. I've been using this bag for months now and it is such a hack. It has a trolley sleeve feature and it fits under the seat too! makes your travel more convenient and effortless and it packs like a suitcase too!
wow thanks so much francine! i will look into it! i just had a duffel bag break on me and i do love a good hack! thanks for watching the episode and for supporting! enjoy the rest of the series!!

It's probably the rooftop of the Fondaco Dei Tedeschi stores. It's a famous place in Venice located in an old building which is used to host shops from famous luxurious brands, but you can visit it without buying anything and on their website you can book to also visit the rooftop
"....alright...ARRRIGHT...we've talked about it on camera a few times, all of our plans keep falling through" the stress is palpable in the "ARRRIGHT" hehe

Hey Thijs and Lina! Great footage of Venice! It is a beautiful place but you can spend a lot of money there. Drinks are crazy expensive ! Meeting locals is the BEST! Couchsurfing is a great concept just a pity it is run by Americans.
Thanks Hans, Yeah we totally agree. We love the concept of couchsurfing but sadly its website has been taken over and its not been the same community-founded feel as it was years ago. But yeah, meeting the locals is the best way to discover the place!
We're enjoying this travel series you two! Italy seems like it would be an expensive place to travel if couch surfing weren't a thing. I really had no idea Venice looked like that, with all those coloured buildings everywhere. It's interesting too how many places around the world we've been with similar colourful houses. I was picturing there being old historical brick buildings everywhere but I suppose those are mostly just in the popular areas? Keen to see what comes next. I hope Paddy is able to join you in the next series... peace!!
thanks so much! yeah, venice is insane and has so many different islands and neighborhoods that are all so different and unique! really recommend coming to see it! we hope paddy can join back next time as well! thanks for the support and for watching!
Does anyone else feel like the Budgeteers aren't actually doing anything on this trip? I get that everyone likes different things but it seems a pity to go to Milan/Venice and spend no time in museums etc. for the sake of an arbitrary budget. Why not double the budget for a more expensive country and experience these places more in depth?
Good point James. We often feel the same struggle and dilemma. We wanna explore places more in depth- its the kind of stress we talked about mid episode here.
