      @LordGenericRPG That's understandable! It's clear the work comes from a place of passion so take your time with it. That's my big rule as a beginning GM as I'm writing my own stuff!

    Great video, very informative! I just have a question about clerics AOE spells not harming friendlies. I see that Divine Wrath deals 4d10 spirit damage to enemies in the area but im not seeing how the wording for Eclipse Burst or Sunburst indicates only enemies. Could you elaborate on this? I'm also curious because at the beginning of the video you had the pros and cons list and stated that AOE spells after level 4 are ally friendly, are these particular spells what you were referring to or is that some feat for clerics that I'm overlooking? I ask because my friend was looking into being a cleric and never played pf2e so he watched this video. He then told me he was thinking of being a cleric because their AOE spells don't harm Allies. I had never seen that stated anywhere so thats why I'm asking. Thank you in advance and keep up the good work!

      Okay so Eclipse Burst and Sun Burst DO hurt your friends. Those two are interesting in that they are the main rank 7 AOE damage spells shared by Arcane and Primal casters. So you get to throw out huge numbers the same way the Wizard and Druid do!
      One huge perk of Divine AOE spells is that they often (not always) don't hurt allies. Such as Divine Wrath and Divine Decree. Generally these spells do lower damage but mix in debuffs, perfect for covering the battlefield when party members are already mixed into the melee to take advantage of the debuffs.
      So for your friend, some of the best blasting spells I reccomend they take if they love the idea of party safe big booms are:
      Divine Wrath - rank 4
      Divine Decree - rank 7
      Summon Elemental Herald - rank 8
      Wails of the Damned - rank 9
      And upcast Divine Wrath for ranks 5 and 6 if you really don't want to be careful with aiming.
      And of course against any undead enemies you can spam 3 action Heal spells from your Divine Font (or if you memorized even more casts of Heal) for the classic heal the party and hurt the enemy combo.
      I'm thrilled to hear my video helped though! Happy casting!

    This video was very helpful. a question about shock to the system… it does not say it can be used only for allies. If I use it on an enemy that died within the last round (luckily it is rare to have an ally reaching dying 4 in a combat) do i control that creature? It seems like a Frankenstein creation spell, so maybe it is more effective than it seems if we can control shocked creature.

      I'm glad it was hepful!
      Shock to the System does indeed work on enemy creatures, and will revive, heal, and buff them.
      It does not give you control over the creature by the rules. But I do love the idea, and I agree with the Frankenstein's monster creation vibes!
      Talk to your GM and see what they think, it is very much outside of the written rules. But PF2 is a narrative game and if you work together to make a memorable and cool narrative moment then that's what matters!

    Haven’t played martials, so have to ask: how powerful runes are? Runic Weapon can be heightened, and in 6th rank it gives +2 greater striking and in 9th rank it gives +3 major striking; are those useless at levels these ranks can be used?

    • @LordGenericRPG
      @LordGenericRPG  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Runes are extremely powerful, and each upgrade is on its own a huge boost to your martial. The problem with heightened Runic Weapon is opportunity cost.
      First, each upgrade in runes has a smaller relative impact on damage. A Champion with a greatsword at level 4 does 1d12+4 damage on hit (average 10.5). A striking rune makes that 2d12+4 (average 17). A huge boost of like 62%!
      But a level 12 Champion with a Striking rune can easily do 2d12+5(strength)+2(weapon specialization)+2d6(elemental runes like flaming) on hit (average 27). That Greater striking rune? Now you deal 3d12+5(strength)+2(weapon specialization)+2d6(elemental runes like flaming) on hit (average 33.5). A much smaller boost of only 24%.
      And this is a *best case*. Using the biggest weapon on a martial with the fewest damage boosts. It will be even worse for say a Barbarian or a Longsword user.
      Then consider you could spend those 2 actions and the rank 6 slot to cast a big juicy damage spell. Or even Rank 6 Heroism for +2 to hit (and crit!), skills, and saves. There are simply stronger buffs and attacks at higher levels.

    Doesn’t every ancestery allow two free attribute boosts instead of normal boosts and flaw?

    • @LordGenericRPG
      @LordGenericRPG  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes! Every ancestry has the option to take two free attribute boosts instead of the preset boosts + flaw.
      If you're really stretching for power then it's usually better to have the flaw in a stat your class doesn't care about. But every build in the game does just fine with the two free attribute boosts.
