    Instead of resizing the clips manually, go to the cut page.
    In the top right corner under Timeline Resolution select a dimension templates, e.g., portrait. To scale all footage, under Timeline resolution > Timeline Settings change Mismatches Resolution to Scale full frame with crop. If grayed out, deselect Project Settings.
    In the edit tab, adjust the X center to your liking.

    192 AAC for audio on mp4 is a huge let down. I find it fucks up the audio, does anyone else?. Linear PCM on the Quicktime setting seems to work ok for both audio and visual for TH-cam. I'm still learning but I swear MP4 in Davinci sounds like crap audio wise. thanks for video it helped anyway

    i tested these cases (shot in 4k, vertical already, intended for TT). Results are sorted from best to worst:
    Time line horizontal in 4k, export in 4k, 5kbs - upload by phone app
    Time line horizontal in 4k, export in 4k, 5kbs - upload by web browser

    if you choose quick time instead of mp4, when you go to0 audio export settings you can choose PCM instead of AAC, PCM should be lossless audio

    • @williamhouston559
      @williamhouston559 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And per TH-cam the best quality for music videos is when the audio in the video is uncompressed PCM 24bit 44.1 sampling rate. A mastering engineer on Gearspace did a number of tests and confirmed that using 44.1 sample rate audio in the uploaded video yielded the best audio quality for music in TH-cam music videos.

    • @KDHildreth
      @KDHildreth ปีที่แล้ว

      Also by doing this (using PCM) you can avoid the problems resolve has with AAC audio and windows 10 (it's broken, they know about it and wont fix it) basically any high frequencies or noise in the audio will end up with a horrible metallic compression sound and also audio dropouts plus it will only render the AAC audio at 173kbps even though 192kbps is selected.

    Just my thoughts but I don’t think it’s wise to use “scale entire image to fit” in the project settings and then manually resize footage. By doing that you’re no longer scaling up the original quality of your footage but instead scaling up a rasterized version hence detail and data loss. It honestly surprises me how many Resolve channels get this wrong.

    Hello, thanks for ur videos. First, I see u set bitrate for 1080 to 45000kbps (is very large ?) and 4k is 95000kbps (oh my god) my disk do not have enough space for use this bitrate, do you have any other best setting for give lower file size but best quality export settings ? Thanks!

      Try your frame rate (fps) x 2000

    Dumb question here: In the beginning, how do you pick the proper file location. When I click "browse" I get a ".gallery" and "CacheClip" folder and it tells me that the other file location that I selected is invalid.
    This is my first time using this software and I am using the free version of Davinci 18.

    1:07 could someone explain the science behind this to me? why would we want to decrease the quality?

  • @LawderOfficial
    @LawderOfficial 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I would always try to choose the highest possible quality for audio: mp3/aac 320 kb p/s or aiff/wav (best)

    • @BillyRybka
      @BillyRybka  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, i would. However there is no going up in quality for audio. That was the highest for the H.264 preset

      @HaroldKuilman 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Noooooo! Always check what the maximum output quality is of the platform you upload to and export your audio in that codex and bitrate. You want to avoid it getting compressed again!

      @@BillyRybka That's why you should use Quicktime format so you can use uncompressed PCM audio. Better that the TH-cam porcessing algorithm conversion starts with uncompressed PCM audio to convert to final lossy compressed format rather than uploading lossy compressed audio that TH-cam will then reconvert to a lossy format. For music video, TH-cam recommends uncompressed 24bit 44.1 sample rate PCM audio as the best in uploaded video.

    Hey Man, I use free version of Resolve & Beta 5 & Beta 6 has some sort of Problem with the audio of Files you put in the Timeline. The Moment you drop a Clip in the timeline, The Audio of the File that shows in the Green Box does not show up or produce any sound for few frames. In the Beta 3 Version it's all good, but what's happening with the newer versions, I don't know. Have you seen some like that ???

    thanks for the tips. sorry im such a noob. im having some problems finding some render settings for Ultra Wide, noone has really covered this. all my gameplay footage is recorded in 3440x1440 and theres no default option for that. so i can change my timeline to custom 3440x1440 60fps and the render res as well. but what about quality value? im kind of lost on that. and is there anything else special i should be doing for Ultra Wide settings?
