Did you know that goldfish were selectively bred from carps, they were bred for the sole purpose of being used for bait, they arent meant to live long and those people who have released them into the wild have caused devastating effects on the wild
I bought a Squirrel Monkey when I was a teen back in the 70's. Oh man was I in for a shock. They are constantly on the move. He never stopped. Lucus was a sweet boy but a handful. I had to give him away as I was gone more and more to 4 sisters who always just adored him. I still get a twinge in my heart when i think of him and pray that they took good care of him like they swore they would. I pray people would stop buying monkeys because they deserve to be free in the wild and not be hunted and sold. To many people buy a cute baby but they grow up and then they are not wanted. Very few people are equipt to take this on.
@Anthony Demski it doesn't matter that isn't the point the point is the more people that buy them the more monkeys are available to be bought it doesn't matter if they were born in captivity to a breeder they're not domesticated they're not tame they are wild animals. The only thing you have going for you is you can bond with the animal and the animal will grow accustomed to you and even love you but it's still a wild animal
As long as its people like her and others I've seen like her. I have no problem with it. But i see some seriously stupid people getting them and its nuts.
@@ClownWhisper Much of the problem with discussing monkeys is defining the terminology. Two different people will say pet. One will mean family member and the other will want the monkey to spend its whole life in a bird cage (and then expect it to be friendly and tame when it is taken out every month or two). Nothing any bigger than a small mouse can stay sane is a cage.
It is not an ez job! It seems very structured .... time consuming, and intense .... to be a permanent monkey parent! I think a lot of folks .... just look at the cute ..... cuddily baby monk & fall in love! ..... That's the fantasy! .....
I too had wanted a monkey since 6th grade. 30 years later I made a friend at work and told her of my lifelong dream. Her reaction was "No. No you don't." She had been a monkey owner and told of all the bad and hard things that could and did happen. All the struggles, all the messes, all the expense. The tears shed and the phenomenal amount of patience required. She owned this monkey in the pre-internet days so I'm sure it was a learn as you go experience. I had to accept that I might not have this amount of dedication in me. I still love monkeys and I'm thankful for you TH-cam so I can watch Xander and all the other sweet monkeys play and grow.
It's her fault, it's probably because she was at work all day and the monkey was in the cage all day... You can't leave them alone you have to be wity them 24/7 It's her fault
Very well said girlie!! I am so glad you mentioned researching them for at least a year before even thinking about getting one.. I tell people all the time that they should spend a couple of years learning everything they can about them and they act like that is ridiculous!! I firmly believe that the law nationwide should be that a person must spend a large number of hours actually experiencing and helping to care for one before being granted a license to get a monkey!! I guarantee it would eliminate a large percentage of people that think they want one and would really curb the huge percentage of people who do not end up keeping them for their lifetime!! If somebody wants one but doesn't have the time to do that then the don't have the time to properly care for a monkey!!
I'm glad you all are saying these things. I'm learning myself now. I'd like to get one in the future. What's the right thing to do if you want one but work 8-9 hrs a day?
I'm so glad you done one of these, I personally want one but couldn't commit to one, so it would not be fair. I admire others like yourself who devote your time and life to them. Thanks
Great video Stephanie - I'd like to add this, maybe look into a rescue group as well. Volunteer with them and educate yourself and adopt one of their rescues instead of buying one from a breeder. This holds true with all types of pets and animals. Too many jump into the cute, fun, novelty aspect of having a baby or getting a pet. Like Stephanie said, it's a lifelong commitment and prepare well beforehand. Too many buy pets and throw them away because it's "too much work" - be dedicated or don't get one. Also, just volunteer to help out surrendered or abandoned animals instead - less expense, time and life commitment, but still a joy and good deeds while caring for those in need. Unless you have the knowledge and devotion that Stephanie has to Xander, do not go out and blindly buy a monkey. They are deeply feeling beings and are Not a novelty or toy. ♡♡♡
1. Don't. 2. Don't. 3. Don't. 4. Don't. 5. Don't. This is cruel. He'll never have the chance to mate or be part of a troop. All because you decided what you want is more important than what he wants. You said it yourself, YOU chose this.
@itsthatidiot9559 No, dogs, cats, ferrets, etc, are domesticated. Monkeys are not. It takes thousands of years of selective breeding to domesticate an animal, and it changes their dna. It's not the same thing as an animal being habituated to humans, which is what they've done to these monkeys. It's all fun and games until they grow up, hit "puberty," start humping things, get aggressive and turn on you, biting off a few fingers, or going for your throat. Human beings cannot meet the complex nutritional and especially the social needs of these animals. They are like humans in that they need the company on their own kind to be mentally healthy. Just imagine yourself being forced to live in a troop of monkeys for 40 or so years.
Great video! I love how you addressed the "commitment" aspect. Many people are not aware of what is involved, and operate solely on impulse. "It's cute and I want it." Makes me think about how you mentioned getting dressed up to see Xander after you were apart for a week. It is a relationship - respectful and requires hands on care - not leaving in a cage...or alone for hours at a time. You are both lucky to have each other!
You and your monkey both look very healthy, Having watched a lot of vids when Monkey Boo and Xander were doing content together, I came to the conclusion both were stressed. I'm glad for you that you got out of a disempowering situation. You have a great presence on camera and seem thoughtful and articulate. Best of luck with your new channel.
I’m in 7th grade and I know that what I want in the future may change when the future comes, but having a monkey companion would be amazing in the far future, so thank you for the info and I will start doing my research so if I do commit to the decision in my adult years I will be ready.
8th grade now? Same when i start making bank i really really wanna get one when Primates are very intelligent so I know that when the thing passes away of old age like a chad i’m probably gonna be depressed...
Hi x ,If you're interested in getting a cute baby monkey just visit the Instagram page mentioned in my description section, it's managed by a legit breeder.
Monkeys are not pets. They are wild animals that belong in the wild. And buying them is inhumane because they are either torn away from their mother at an early age or their mother is straight up killed in the wild so people like you can have a "cute pet". It makes me sick. If you truly loved these animals you wouldn't support the trade of these beautiful animals. You'd want to see them in their natural habitat surrounded by their family because they are extremely social creatures that crave that community. My heart breaks for these poor animals.
Was my audio bad? Did you say $8500? (Hes worth every penny!) I paid 700 for my cat 15 yrs ago, he shouldve been abou $1000 the breeder was a pos running a kitten mill, I paid to get him out, and then reported her to Cat Fanciers Association. PLEASE RESUE CATS AND DOGS dont encourage these people. Maybe in another vid you could go further into the commitment part, like cleaning their cages daily, oral hygiene etc. Cost of health care, home owners insurance.
Colleen Jones thank you for rescuing your kitty and reporting the kitten mill breeder. I agree with you 100%, adopt and rescue. Cats and dogs are awesome pets, it’s horrible that so many of them are in shelters across the nation.
I purchased my monkey from local native Americans (Arawak) in South America for 30 bucks so you don’t have to pay 8500.00 if you are willing to travel. I have family in that part of the world so it’s no big deal for me.
elizabeth king-kimble If you are willing to travel to Guyana in South America you can go to any small town like Linden where you can find Amerindians who live in the interior, and ask them to get you a monkey, in about a week or two they will return with one and they will charge you $30 US dollars. There is also an animal reserve in a town called Diamond where they have some already. I am going to get a Jaguar from them, but I am not sure they will sell to anyone but me.
I think I may have said something rude on one of your videos a few weeks back or so. I apologize if i did. This video actually has enlightened me and you are good to your animals aka family members. I want to thank you for giving out this information as it tremendously helped me. I do want a monkey....but now after watching this video....I learned a few things. I didn't think how expensive they are not to just get one but to raise it, etc. So I won't be getting one. which is quite alright because I don't want to make the mistake of getting one and having to rehome the monkey, that's like giving your child to another family after you've raised them and they see you as family as well. It would break their heart as well as mine. So I appreciate your information and thank you so much for being good to your animals! you have a great day/night. give them all a huge hug from me! I'll stick to just watching cute videos of them and maybe i'll get to babysit one or something lol ! take care! :)
You’re such an expert, yet you put him in clothes. Clothes make a monkey feel constricted. You’re forcing him to be a human child, and he is not, nor will he ever be.
@@rickeystuckey9888 If you research monkeys you know this. It also prevents them from regulating their body temps. The diapers hurt their back, legs, and hips. So how much research did she actually do?
@@TheDenseManyes and no. In an indoor cage and outdoor as long as you have the necessary space to cleanup and stop the “mess” going everywhere then no don’t need diapas. Holding play round house (word appropriately) unless you want or be covered in mess along with furniture etc wear diapa. Your right don’t put them on them but realistically you need diapas but a balance where they don’t the majority of the time. Watch monkey boo a lot of the videos the three monkeys often don’t wear them
I totally agree with you Stephanie, they are harder in some aspects then children! Children do eventually grow up, monkeys will always be dependent on you! Lot of reward having but also a lot of time, money and patience! I wouldn’t trade it for anything tho!
For a few years, I researched and studied hard about the commitment it takes to properly care for and raise a small primate. Then I became disabled due to injuries sustained in a fall from an eight-foot ladder at work. I knew then that with my permanent limited movement, there was no way I could care for a monkey like it deserved to be cared for. (Lord, some days I need care myself lol!) And there’s the age factor: I’m knocking on fifty’s back door as it is, and there’s no guarantee of living to see 90-100 years to anyone, what if my monkey outlived me? It would be devastated, and I can see my daughter after my Will was read...”She left me MaMaw’s ring, three hundred collectible Barbies and her F’kin’ monkey”!!! Great video, Miss Stephanie, I hope many find it and use it to help shape their decision about primate ownership...and PLEASE keep the Zander and Obama videos coming, you guys are such an adorable little family!!!
This was very helpful.thank you.and you're a good fur baby parent.Dont let anyone tell you other wise.if you are dedicated and loving to that little cute fella then every bit of your time with that little guy is way better than what he could ever receive.Hes lucky.
She's responsible and respectful. I would never impede on someone freedoms to have the pets of their choice. I glad you informed your audience on the responsibility of ownership. There are animal groups trying everything in their power to stop people from owning one, even the mental or physically challenged. These people are control freaks and should be called out. Sadly, if people don't wake up to these animal rights fanatics, we may not even be able to own a cat or dog.
Great video! 👍👍 A lot of people don't understand how committed you have to be to raise a monkey. I used to see a lot of people saying how much they wanted a monkey because of the cuteness factor. And they are adorable. I love Xander so much! 💕 But those comments would scare me because it's sad when someone gets a monkey and because it isn't always peaches and cream, they would abandon it. I would tell them to please do a lot of research before getting one. I just love animals so much and it saddens me when people want to get rid of them because they're not a baby anymore. Your level of commitment and love for Xander is commendable. 👏👏👏 He's super adorable and I'm so happy you're his mama. 💞💕🐒👵💕💞
Monkeys require a complex social dynamic and hierarchy provided only in a troop environment. Having a monkey without any other monkeys and thinking a human nuclear family is a decent substitute for a troop than you didn't actually do your research. You are depriving your monkey child of anything and everything natural to it by keeping it in a house, in a diaper, away from other monkeys, away from the forest.....you clearly have no clue just how cruel and selfish your choice to have a monkey "family member" really is....
you probably dont give a shit but if you guys are stoned like me during the covid times then you can watch pretty much all of the new series on InstaFlixxer. I've been streaming with my girlfriend for the last few weeks :)
Thank you darlin’ for telling us the truth! Monkeys are adorable but 3 miniature dachshunds have worn us out! You younger people are better equipped physically and mentally care for one. Thank you so much!
Very informative video Stephanie. Your a loving dedicated mommy to Xander. He is very fortunate. Love to you and Xander.😚. You look stunning today. Good to see you....
Thank you so much for talking about the 5 MOST IMPORTANT facts about purchasing a Monkey. Owning a monkey is like having a toddler for the next 40-50 years! Just they're everyday basic necessities alone can be challenging. Diapers food healthcare environmental protection and dedication is a life long commitment. So if you want to own a monkey and you've never owned a "pet" I honestly suggest starting off with a cat or a dog because like this monkey owner said it's not just a pet it's a life long companion/ family member! If you can't take care and afford a cat or a dog then you would definitely not be a suitable candidate to own a primate! Thank you again for your informative video. ( I am personally trying to purchase a monkey, my children are all grown up and like you I've always dreamed of owning a monkey, and when the day comes I will be very proud to post a video of my new family member!)😊😊😊😊🐒🐒
I would love to see a video on what it takes to keep Xander happy on a day to day basis.. also his potty habits, like how often and where does he go? I know he wears a diaper but does he ever take it off?
Kyle Grasso All of your questions are very good I thought. I would love to see a video like you mentioned also. From the time they open their eyes in the morning until they go to sleep at night. Step by step, hour by hour the works, that is the only way someone can make up their mind for sure. I live in a rural area and there are not any monkey owners that I could spend time with to get educated about their habits, care, etc. An instructional video would be great for many ppl. It could avoid monkeys being bought and then given away later because you know ahead of time what to expect.
From what I’ve seen and read as far as potty habits go, monkeys can’t really be “trained” like a cat or dog. They will poop and pee whenever/wherever they need to. Pretty much like us when we’re newborns. So I’m guessing a diaper is a 24/7 necessity except of course for baths or if it’s lucky, the monkey has some outdoor time.
I know you said you weren't going to sit here and list breeders, but if you made a video doing that, honey you'd get a million views because it is NOT as easy as Googling. Then again, this video is four years old. Perhaps things have changed since then. I still say you should make the breeder video. You'd get hella traffic and you deserve it. :)
If she was telling the truth she would tell you that they are ripped away from their mothers when they are only days old which is devastating to the mother and the baby. She would also tell you how selfish it is to take a wild animal away from it's natural environment and she would tell you how unnatural it is to put clothes on them and diapers.
So cute!!! 🐵 you are amazing for being such an animal love and commiting all you time and love to this precious animal and I love the fact that you say its not a pet..... He's a member of your family. God Bless and sending love to you and Xander from Chicago🐵❤
My grandmother had two herself a boy and a girl they are a handful and I don’t remember where she got them but she was just as patient with them as she was the children she adopted and they all loved one another ❤️ I was really little when I met them and remember chuckling that they wore diapers and she had a nursing uniform and a doctors uniform for them and would take them too the hospital to see children her and my grandfather worked in....
I've always loved monkeys.. Capuchins to be exact and have been wanting one basically all my life. If I ever get one.... Do the breeders tell you how they get Them? I would only buy a baby monkey if the mom was Ill in some way. I don't think it's fair to break up a family, otherwise
misterslats Wow, you don’t know much about primates, do you? Primates have an amazingly strong bond with their mothers that last for YEARS naturally. They also bond with their troop mates and rely heavily on social cues and position to lead healthy, natural lives. You think the only way to own a primate is to rip it away from its mother at 3 days or less, stick it on a stuffed animal and then dominate it for the rest of its life? Are you serious?? Okay, let’s break it down. First primates are highly complex and intelligent creatures and have far more needs for stimulation and socialization than a dog, hamster, or a farm animal. Second, cats, dogs, farm animals all wean their progeny much, much earlier than primates, so no, they don’t care as much about their babies leaving at 12 weeks or whatever. Third, primates are not and never will be domesticated. There’s no benefit to the primate, and you cannot think you can “tame” one. You’ll end up dominating it, which by the way, will lead to fear behaviors, including aggression and self mutilation. Primates also exhibit many natural behaviors that do not make them good housemates: aggression, urine marking, inability to be litter/toilet trained, masturbation, just to name a few. But I guess if you stick it in a cage, it’ll be fine. Fourth, most people remove the primate’s teeth and some remove fingertips to prevent injury to the owner. If your pet is so dangerous you remove its teeth, perhaps it’s not a pet after all. If it loved you and respected you, it would not attack you. Finally, primates live better in their natural environment because that’s where they are adapted to live. Yes they may technically live longer in a cage but they are so psychologically messed up that it is in fact not kinder. All wild animals contend with survival odds: predation, starvation, natural disasters, disease. Does that mean we remove every wild creature and stick it in a cage for its own good? Very, very few owners can invest the time, money, and reserves to own primates and keep the mentally and physically healthy for decades. Most are dumped when they reach sexual maturity and aren’t so cute any longer.
@@pinkmonkeybird2644thank you for saying this!! 🙏 Humans can be so unbelievably selfish sometimes. They only think about what they want, they could care less about how that effects the monkey as long as they get to own a cute exotic "pet".
Pets are a commitment. As a former dog breeder I can tell you pets can live 20 years(dogs) to 40 years(horses) to 100 years(parrots). The key is knowing about the animal and what to do with it in the event you can't keep it one day. You can't just dump them in a shelter. Some breeders will take them back or you will have to find another owner for it. Be realistic and have a plan, because you don't know what may happen in your life, in spite of your best intentions.
I think it would be great if u did a video of what all they do and get into. I've been doing my research as well for over a year and all I see is videos of the cuteness, people don't show what is needed in a day to day basis
Could you possibly tell me where to get a monkeiy? I have been scammed several times and I've been prepared for several months , Judy having a very Hard time finding a real monkey fir sale
I'm just sitting here watching her trying to hold this monkey back nonstop the entire video because it keeps trying to run off. I'm like no thanks I'm fine with my cat.
Ty Xander for your advice in primates , monkies. Your so right about the pet thang.. It's like your the father or mother for a long time. PS.. Your a hottie!
I'm glad you did this video because too many people get animals/pets simply because they are CUTE ! Especially babies of any kind. There are some people that have dogs that shouldn't. Heck, some people shouldn't even have kids LOL. But anyway, I'm glad you stressed that people should do their research and realize it's a life style and a commitment. They need love, care, medical care, etc.etc.etc. Thanks for stressing all this.
Awesome Stephanie, thank you so much for pointing out these things! I love you and Xander and watch your online adventures faithfully! My ex-husband and great friend had a lovely capuchin named Kofi he cherished and loved like a son many years ago when he was in his teens and 20s in the 1970s. Laws were different back then, but being in an extremely responsible family, everyone in his family educated themselves highly on capuchins and other exotics they raised. My friend misses his beloved Kofi everyday.
Thank you for this! This really helped! I am still very young and it’s going to be a very long time before I am an adult but I have always wanted a monkey so this is very helpful for when I am much older! By the way your monkey is very cute!🥰
You need to have time and money to own one of these monkeys this is not like having a pet it is more like having a child that gets harder to control as they age.
Right, she's telling it true. They are sentient beings ,not dogs or cats, not that cats an dogs aernt, but they are in another universe.Ive been studying up on them watching them in there natural setting ,like individuals with there babies, and then how the juveniles are,how they challenge over certain items or situations, how they behave an interact, for about a year, and I dont even think I'm close at all to being ready to adopt one.The more I learn the more I need to learn more..lol..it seems..Great video, very informative you even considered the social consequences of adopting one.
Smart Lady to educate the public .... on really, really ...... what monkey buying, ownership ..... entails! It is like adopting a child .... if you take it, as a permanent commitment! ..... Good luck Babe! .....
I really like that you made this video you seem to be very smart very knowledgeable on the subject. Absolutely you are 100% right these are not pets these are companions a little person if you will. Anyone who says or judges people for the pets or companions they have in their life most of the time are just miserable people who don't have these beautiful things in their lives to add quality like we do. I love you videos I hope you keep making them and may God watch over your little ones
This seems abusive...that monkey clearly can't sit still, because he wants to be outside and explore, he belongs in the wild and should not be kept as a pet
It’s totally abusive, the animal is traumatised by being ripped from its mother at 2 days old then has its teeth ripped out because it will attack its captors if not, how the hell is any of that not abusive?
Really appreciate your input.....been wanting one since I was eight years old and they were $39. at the local Kresge's store in the 60;s...I found a marmoset for $3000. locally came with every;thing…...did decades of research . you are so right some people think i'm cracked but its on my bucket list...…..gotta complete that....Im 65 and finally I feel that I can give him the kind of attention he needs......
I wish you wpuld bring xander out for a meet and greet like at a pet store or some other safe place so he can meet some of his fans. Thanks and hugs from susan in gastonia nc
Meet and greets sounds like a great idea for the fans, but I'm not so sure if it's a good idea for the monkey. Too many people around wanting to pet and hold him may stress him out.
I understand about stressing the monkey out. I have other animals and even cats and dogs can be the same way. I understand . Maybe i could meet zander and talk with you at some point and time. I am and older individual and have rescued many animals and bottle fed many as well til they could eat on there own.
What I been thinking for a long time but I think it probably would be stressful to xander..so se could do at least like 6 fans at a time ..purchase like a ticket to meet xander to help both him and his momma out😁
I have 6 sugar gliders in a walk in enclosure. I’m finally a homeowner and have the expendable expense to take on a commitment of a primate. I don’t necessarily think I’d refer to myself as an owner so to speak but a care taker because they’re letting us into their lives. I looked in to RC ranch and they seem reputable from what I’ve researched and have been told by multiple people to stay away from poggis. Next step before pulling the trigger is finding a primate friendly vet in my area.
I'd like to ask this lady where do you take him if he gets sick. Veterinarians do not handle monkeys. I have a parakeet and still have a problem getting a veterinarian to take care of him.
Awesome video I love. Xander I’ve wanted a white faced capuchin or macaque for a very long time. I’m super jealous of yours unfortunately they’re illegal here. I still might try to get one someday. You’re doing a good thing this day and age their life in the wild isn’t that great anymore. Good luck with Xander he cute
Like she said, they came from breeders. These monkeys are in the process of domestication. They undergo the same process as traditional pets: cats and dogs. Their parents breed, and the little ones get weaned off and sent to new homes. It would be cruel to just set them free in the wild when they have lived all their lives in domesticity. They do still have instincts, but if their parents were also born in a domestic situation, then more than likely, survival in the wild were not taught by the parent. So releasing these domesticated animals is cruel and is one sure way to get them killed.
@@mavicityrelayson2924 yes so obviously the bigger issue is breeding and domestication, but it’s people buying the animals that creates the breeding industry. So don’t fucking support that shit and they won’t be bred.
Worked with smaller primates in zoo's and I've seen the darker side of primates and the fits they throw. All to you for making all the sacrifices but I think I'll stick with giant snakes.
Capuchins are lucky to live half that time in captivity. Subjective how you term "lucky" considering the conditions most are kept under. I can see you love your animal very much, are committed to looking after him and I'm sure he makes a wonderful companion for you. Unfortunately a human is not a good enough companion for a social breed such as a capuchin, who live in large troops...in trees...with no clothes....and all their teeth intact ☹️
If they can’t live according to their instinct , if they have to have their teeth ripped out and never get to mate, never get to swing through the trees, what does it matter they may live a little longer ? Basically condemning the creature to effective purgatory wearing human clothes and damn diapers cos you want to play living dollies!! If you have money to buy a monkey from unscrupulous breeders ( and face it they are pretty much all unscrupulous , your monkey was ripped from it real mother at 48 hours old ffs) if you have this kind of disposable money then send it to a sanctuary so that you can really show monkey love , not selfish indulgent “love” , actually help monkeys to thrive in their natural habitat and be content with the knowledge you have helped assist a better life for them
I've wanted to foster a baby or juvenile Macaque for a few years now and can't seem to find a whole lot of information online regarding how to get involved with fostering rescues here in America, or even reputable breeders of Pigtail Macaques. Would you happen to know anything about either and roughly how much breeders charge for them? I've done ALOT of research and am fully aware of their life spans, temperaments, health requirements, social skills training, ect. So before anyone says anything smart or rude, please understand again that I've done the research already and understand that it's a very large commitment and responsibility. If anyone has anything helpful to say or add it would be appreciated.
I'm very proud to hear her say that everything that she said is true they are expensive to have it's not easy having them like she said they're not going to be babies forever like she said that's not a dog it's not a pet it is a companion 60% of all people who get monkeys wind up giving them up why cuz they cannot handle them when they get older they kind of support them just all kinds of different reasons but like she says know what you're getting into
8000 bucks!! For a monkey?!! For this much more i better adopt an actual child ..for around 20 000 you can adopt from africa or china.. and actually help a child..
You are a great person. The love and care you have for Mr. X shows in how happy, sweet and well cared for he is. That fills my heart with joy. I cannot stomach some of the videos. God Bless You Both 😇🐒

You can't leave them alone you have to be wity them 24/7
It's her fault
Gina Powell Total agreement!
Beth Greene right lmao. Im done

I'm glad you all are saying these things. I'm learning myself now. I'd like to get one in the future. What's the right thing to do if you want one but work 8-9 hrs a day?
you’re so right );
I'm so glad you done one of these, I personally want one but couldn't commit to one, so it would not be fair. I admire others like yourself who devote your time and life to them. Thanks

I like how said its not a pet, its a companions, family member for life. Can see how much the little chap loves you already. Wishing you all well
Great video Stephanie - I'd like to add this, maybe look into a rescue group as well. ♡♡♡
Great video. Your monkey seems very happy and well adjusted which is a compliment to you and how you're caring for him and raising him. He's cute!!
1. Don't. 2. Don't. 3. Don't. 4. Don't. 5. Don't.
This is cruel. He'll never have the chance to mate or be part of a troop. All because you decided what you want is more important than what he wants. You said it yourself, YOU chose this.
i mean, most pets are like that
@itsthatidiot9559 No, dogs, cats, ferrets, etc, are domesticated.
Sydnie Benson So true!♡
You and your monkey both look very healthy, Having watched a lot of vids when Monkey Boo and Xander were doing content together, I came to the conclusion both were stressed. I'm glad for you that you got out of a disempowering situation. You have a great presence on camera and seem thoughtful and articulate. Best of luck with your new channel.
She says she wants a new monkey in the video. Look at his face, he is stressed and wants away from her
I’m in 7th grade and I know that what I want in the future may change when the future comes, but having a monkey companion would be amazing in the far future, so thank you for the info and I will start doing my research so if I do commit to the decision in my adult years I will be ready.
8th grade now? Same when i start making bank i really really wanna get one when Primates are very intelligent so I know that when the thing passes away of old age like a chad i’m probably gonna be depressed...
Same I’ve been researching for about a week now and it’s so much more work than I thought but I’m figuring it out
Hi x ,If you're interested in getting a cute baby monkey just visit the Instagram page mentioned in my description section, it's managed by a legit breeder.
Terry Boragard how do you have an “accidental litter” if you are a responsible owner?
Colleen Jones thank you for rescuing your kitty and reporting the kitten mill breeder. I agree with you 100%, adopt and rescue. Cats and dogs are awesome pets, it’s horrible that so many of them are in shelters across the nation.
I purchased my monkey from local native Americans (Arawak) in South America for 30 bucks so you don’t have to pay 8500.00 if you are willing to travel. I have family in that part of the world so it’s no big deal for me.
akim ishchayil i would love to get the info from u on how to get 1
elizabeth king-kimble If you are willing to travel to Guyana in South America you can go to any small town like Linden where you can find Amerindians who live in the interior, and ask them to get you a monkey, in about a week or two they will return with one and they will charge you $30 US dollars. There is also an animal reserve in a town called Diamond where they have some already. I am going to get a Jaguar from them, but I am not sure they will sell to anyone but me.
As soon as I heard you talking, I knew you lived in NC! I’m from Gastonia. Thanks for the info!! 💕
I could tell to I’m from Charlotte 😂
Me too... I'm from NC coast..
Me too. I’m from Wilmington 😂
How do you know what the monkey feels? Are you a monkey whisperer
@@rickeystuckey9888 If you research monkeys you know this. It also prevents them from regulating their body temps. The diapers hurt their back, legs, and hips. So how much research did she actually do?
@@tracyostrowski4217Isn’t Diapers a must?
I think the lil guy wants to roam around and explore the couch at least... Haha whatta cutie
I’m so glad you did this video. You did a great job explaining these super important points. You da best! And hugs to Xander
I meant Ohana... autocorrect is not my friend!
Thank you for sharing Xander with those of us that love monkeys but don’t have the lifestyle conducive to having one!
This was very helpful.thank you.and you're a good fur baby parent.Dont let anyone tell you other wise.if you are dedicated and loving to that little cute fella then every bit of your time with that little guy is way better than what he could ever receive.Hes lucky.
Monkey lovers should not promote keeping a primate as a pet. There is no "responsible" way for you to keep a monkey in a house.
Great informative and responsible video, Stephanie. You and Xander look great, hope you have a nice day!
I love when they crawl on your shoulders, the cutest thing ever 😄😄💛💛
Yay!!!! I LOVE that you and Pete are educating they TH-cam world!
This is my first time on this channel. But you did real good on your info. I had no idea they could live up to 45 years.
Good video

@@jeffharder8706 well that's not exactly true. As they get older it is not that difficult to train them to go back to their cage to go!
Thank you for taking the time to share that info. Xander is amazing.
Great REALISTIC, educational video. I don't mind someone owning a primate as long as they're committed. YOU are a GREAT mommy to Xander 🙂
This is a really good video. Somebody’s actually telling the truth
“Some people are scared of primates.” Lol yeah we should definitely be scared of each other as humans. We destroy everything 😉
this is cruel to keep a monkey in a house. it's a wild animal.
I just wish humans would leave them in the wild where they truly belong.
U ever just get finished with ur zoom class and out of nowhere think I want A FUCKING MONEKY and start wacthing vids ya thats me
I've always loved monkeys..

This seems abusive...that monkey clearly can't sit still, because he wants to be outside and explore, he belongs in the wild and should not be kept as a pet
Max it's not abusive. Do you see how she treats him? Better than I see some people treating their kids. I am a nurse and I see abuse.

Too many people around wanting to pet and hold him may stress him out.
sue thomas hey Sue I’m in gastonia as well, are you a primate owner?
I understand about stressing the monkey out. I have other animals and even cats and dogs can be the same way. I understand . Maybe i could meet zander and talk with you at some point and time. I am and older individual and have rescued many animals and bottle fed many as well til they could eat on there own.
What I been thinking for a long time but I think it probably would be stressful to xander..so se could do at least like 6 fans at a time ..purchase like a ticket to meet xander to help both him and his momma out😁

I mean it's basically just a human child that will never talk or anything like that I can understand why it's more of a commitment than a pet
So it's basically a disabled human child? That sure sounds like something I want to pay for.
You forgot number six: be dumb enough to think you can make a self aware, sentient, troop animal happy.
Rc ranch is good!
Xander kept going for that bra strap; My Man!
I'd like to ask this lady where do you take him if he gets sick. Veterinarians do not handle monkeys. I have a parakeet and still have a problem getting a veterinarian to take care of him.

@@austinhensley1994 Same as a dog but it happens.

It’s a lil human that do t talk and therefore you should love unconditionally.
They have a hire chance living longer in captivity due to the fact there aren’t other capuchins fighting for alpha.
If they can’t live according to their instinct , if they have to have their teeth ripped out and never get to mate, never get to swing through the trees, what does it matter they may live a little longer ? Basically condemning the creature to effective purgatory wearing human clothes and damn diapers cos you want to play living dollies!! If you have money to buy a monkey from unscrupulous breeders ( and face it they are pretty much all unscrupulous , your monkey was ripped from it real mother at 48 hours old ffs) if you have this kind of disposable money then send it to a sanctuary so that you can really show monkey love , not selfish indulgent “love” , actually help monkeys to thrive in their natural habitat and be content with the knowledge you have helped assist a better life for them
It looks like he doesn’t have his canines
Ik its been 5 years since this video got out but i hope you still reply whats a example for a website for capuchin monkeys in virgina
Thanks for all the great information.
