Gustavo Dudamel Open Rehearsal

Conductor Gustavo Dudamel was the recipient of the 2010 Eugene McDermott Award in the Arts at MIT, an award celebrating rising, innovative talents in the arts. This video features excerpts from his open rehearsal with the MIT Symphony Orchestra on April 16, 2010.

In my own life, I have found that many great conductors and musicians are also great teachers. I appreciate the way Maestro Dudamel works with young people. He teaches them how to perform the work. It is somewhat different than how he works with adult orchestras. But in both kinds of orchestras, he works hard to make certain the musicians understand what they are playing.

Apprezzo l'impegno in cui il Maestro Dudamel guida i giovani. Insegna loro come eseguire il lavoro. È evidentemente diverso da come si impegna con orchestre adulte, ma in entrambi i tipi di orchestre, lavora sodo per assicurarsi che i musicisti capiscano quello che stanno suonando.
