Getting humiliated doesn't lower your level but it does *massively* weight the scales for your minion's "do i betray the boss" decisions. The orcs respect strength above all, and that factors into their relationship. Every time he gets mogged by the machine, *all* of his allied orcs start betrayal rolls

Tear really is his own worst enemy the further he goes in this game. About 80% of betrayals are all on him.

Will say with decoys there is one funny quirk that can occur if you die to them instead of the main Captain and that leads to you making copies of the Captain that have all their own traits, a different class, can be of a different tribe and have different armours and weapons. But look exactly the same as the Captain they were once a "decoy" of. Normally not something you might use a whole lot unless you're doing it for fun. Which most do use it for, including when you get a special kind of Uruk called a "Pretender".
Which are the exception to the rule that the only Uruks that can have decoys are Tricksters/Pranksters. Pretenders are Defenders with decoys that got a look that kinda eludes to a boss from Shadow of Mordor. And dying to one of their decoys can lead to new captains that can look really cool.
Oh and just to say, the game does actually tell you who the blood brother is but only on the army menu or if you look at a Captain's traits. Outside of that, you get nothing. Sometimes Captains when you're about to kill them when getting 'em down will tell you that their blood brother will get revenge but that's only if they're an enemy.

Gathering intel on captains and warlords and using the intel wisely has great impact on the success of your playthrough. You can tell this guy decided to fly blind. Entertaining, chaotic, but doomed to experience much failure.

He does it this way for both entertainment and to lead to more deaths, which is pretty much the only way to bring out the best in the nemesis system. If you play well enough, no orc becomes even slightly difficult and thus the system doesn't get to shine.

Sometimes it can just trigger randomly and sometimes it can trigger a lot at the same time. It gets really annoying.
