Alan Rothwell and Amanda Barrie, along with Dusty Mop and Humphrey Cushion of course, in an episode of Granada's show for pre-school children 'Hickory House' from 15.03.1973
I came across Humphy Cushion in a trunk down in the store room of the Puppet Centre in Battersea about 20 years ago!...I was looking for exhibits for the Wish Tower Puppet Museum in Eastbourne...Fond childhood memories reawakened....he may still be there!
Gentle and cosy lunchtime TV from the 70s. Great.
I was five watching this.im now 55.

Did you give him a banana?
Blimey, if I’d found Humphrey Cushion in a trunk I think I’d have fainted. It would be like meeting a relative I thought had died fifty years ago!
Amanda Barrie was head and shoulders above other presenters.
So funny as was Alan ofcourse
