It's amazing how the trail at times is just full of weeds (overgrown). And I would add this: those of us who connect to you via TH-cam are VERY GRATEFUL that you're doing it again to record it---so we can follow you! Please keep going!
Crunchmaster!!!!! First of all absolutely amazing unreal pictures of Washington 💚 Second you have been an absolutely awesome motivator...entertainer..I have watched every episode the story you are telling needs to be told 💚 Thank you for continuing to share your adventure 💚🏔🥾🌲
I feel for you. Crummy to have to double back on ground you already covered. It's true you have nothing to prove having done the trail twice before. However, you already decided to do it a third time and you've already set aside the time and money to do it, so you made a commitment. If for no other reason, you might as well finish what you started for the sake of the commitment you made and as a personal test of finishing what you started instead of throwing in the towel. I think it builds and proves character to stick with your commitment even when, and especially when, you don't feel like it. I would encourage you to continue, you'll look back and remember how you got through hard times and be proud of yourself. You're strong, you can do it. Go to the next level.
rkatrails I’m definitely not quitting. Just trying to be real and show the ups and downs of a thru hike. It’s not easy but I’ll fight through the hard times 😄
Doing amazing. So this is your 3rd time doing the PCT. I think maybe a book about hiking the PCT is a great idea. You capture the scenery in an awesome way. Keep trekking.
Crunch,I could see it on your face before you spoke, you have this, only a low point on the trail, work past what your mind is telling you, lean on Daisy as she leans on you for support, both of you are the best team on the PCT
Hi, so you said it's illegal to enter the US the same way that you came from and you have to enter thru Harts Pass, so is there a station somewhere at harts pass that checks your papers? Also while entering thru Hats pass are you in Canada the entire time and than at the station you are entering the US? Im a little bit confused about the logistics, maybe some can enlighten me.
John Schmitt Hart Pass all the way to the Monument is within the United States so no need for papers and you won’t get checked. You can enter Canada if you get a Canadian entry permit for the trail. But to enter the US you have to go to a official border crossing. So all southbounders have to start the trail this way
@@TinyHouseHikers I see, ty. I always assumed that the northern Terminus is in Canada as the official Trail shows that the trail ends some miles into Canada. So you didn't enter Canada this time, did you enter it the last time and do you have to hike the Canada Miles for an Official Thru Hike?
Here is why I would hike the PCT.....1) Super Fun, 2) Pure Adventure, 3) The trail whips me into shape, some of the best shape of my life, 4) Great scenery, 5) Fellow PCT hikers are some of the best people, 6) love backpacking, 7) love hiking, 8) love nature, 9) The PCT is very cost effective for what I get out of it, 10) It is a form of slow but steady travel, and 11) it satisfies a deep desire to do something like this. If the fun is gone from the trail, perhaps you are pushing yourself too hard? Or what other reasons can you come up with?
mountaincat8 I enjoy doing big miles, and I havent even been pushing hard. It’s normal to have low moments like that and it can be from a variety of different reasons. In this case I was just cold, wet, and tired of walking uphill.
I'm Happy, Crunchmaster's father. I've encouraged him to share openly both the highs and the lows. It is part of hike, just as we experience in life. He is not whining, he's sharing openly what he's experiencing at that moment. I applaud him for doing so. If you only share the good and the up times it doesn't give a realistic picture of what it's like to thru-hike.
Forgive me, I hate to be critical but if you're not loving it why are you doing it? I did this section last year at 70 years of age and 60 pounds overweight and it was the hike of a lifetime. I also did the Trout Lake to Bridge of the Gods section and plan to do more this year. Perhaps it's time to work on what is the meaning of your life.
Difference is, I’ve been hiking since March. Do you really think every day is wonderful and awesome? The answer is no. These are completely normal feelings on a thru hike and it’s the people that can fight through it that actually are able to finish the trail.

Tom Salter I will never quit 😊 just will keep fighting through the rough times!

John Schmitt the trail into Canada isn’t the PCT. It officially ends at the monument. And yes I entered canada on both of my previous hikes
