He heard my prayers when I asked the Lord to help me come back to church after many years of being away from the gospel. I had become an alcoholic so after surviving a car accident from a DUI I got on my knees and asked my father in heaven for mercy and forgiveness, now Ive been back at church 1 year later so I just received my temple recommend last month and Im now the 2nd councilor to our bishop. I’ve been so anxious and studying the scriptures has been triggering anxiety for me. I try to push through and do it but it’s so hard. This song helped me feel peace and the Spirit so much
Maybe you could change up how you study? Instead of studying chapter by chapter, try studying by topic (a good topic could be "comfort"). Or choose a conference talk that you found helpful or soothing and study the scriptures from the talk. Scripture study doesn't have to mean finishing a book in a specific amount of time. Leaders sometimes issue cover to cover challenges, but they are really just reminders to keep studying. Cover to cover, or so many pages a day might not be what you need right now. But we always need the scriptures -- so look for a way to study that fits your needs.
You know one thing I like to do, especially on chapters I feel I can't quite understand? I highlight all words referencing deity! Like Lord, God, He, Him, His... Looking for Christ in the Scriptures and marking them helps me feel closer to Him!! (Just another suggestion ♡)
First I feel it in my bosom, then, the spirit confirms it to me, and then. I see the fruits of my prayers - even if those were not the fruits for which I was praying.
Because He always answers me. I've tried it before and experienced it for myself. I used to not believe in God... but when I started to, it was like everything made sense and my eyes were opened. Suddenly, I could see His hand in my life.
I KNOW he hears my prayers when I start a gratitude list. It begins to open my spiritual eyes to see how SPOILED with blessings I am, EVEN WHEN I'm going through the LAMEST situations (trials). He WANTS me to succeed, and He WILL help me do it as I put forth my personal ability💕
Every time I wake up in the morning I know he hears my prayers and when I make it back home safely after a long busy day I definitely know he’s been listening to every prayer 🙏
