I'm listening to this after becoming complete committed to the series THE CHOSEN and I weep with understanding and love of Jesus. Blessed be Lord our God, King of the universe.

Thank you Dr Cavins. This is treasure. Thank you. Like what you shared on the Rabi, the Call, the response and commitment, and lastly being a fan or a follower of Jesus. God Bless You.

This talk gives excellent information on discipleship under a rabbi that illuminates the calls of the apostles in the gospels. I always suspected there was more to the story than just Jesus walking up to men busy at their work and saying "come, follow me" and the men immediately abandoning their livelihoods and following Him.

Oh wow. I'm only 12 minutes in but that point Jeff makes about learning about the faith (whilst good) is often mistaken for actually living the faith is spot on - I needed to hear that!
Reminds me of St Padre Pio's quote "In books we seek God, in prayer we find Him"

Did Jesus was also following a certain rabbi?

Yes, this is a good Catholic talk. But in the time of Jesus, religion was taken very, very seriously and a honor to be selected to be a disciple. Our culture today treats religion as a hobby. In the fifties for example, mum was home busy giving her personal touch, spending her time making delicious meals for her family, today we have fast food stores instead. Therefore the intimacy and love taken out of the equation in today culture. The diciples lived with a real person day and night. Today we have fads, it's called bible semesters, bible study groups, Evangelical TV that touch the surface but not deep enough for the soul. Jesus must of had an extraordinary personality, a highly charged charisma, no one and no one leaves their nets (family business, mother, father, brother or sister ) to follow a dreamer Rabbi? There more to this than meets the eye.
