I am from Brazil and I realy want to say congrats, your video was the only one I found comparing the Mk270 and Mk 295. And I need to say, your video was clearly and complete! Congrats Once again !!!!
That is crazy! The amount of reduction in noise absolutely phenomenal. And for that kind of price...wow! 2-3 years on one set of batteries is amazing! It does look easy to clean in case of a “Cider spill emergency”. Always paranoid that I will kill an expensive RGB keyboard that way. I am sure I will be buying several of these in the near future! Thanks for the informative review, Mike!
Loving Logitech products! I had the older brother combo (MK270). Had to replace it because the bar broke (bad service, my fault). Now I have MK540, I was very used to mid size mouse. Thank you very much, Mike!
I still use my trusty old Logitech K400+ as a wireless keyboard/trackpad and I bloody love it. I always wanted to get the MK keyboard and mouse deal but could never justify it but I think Im gonna treat myself to one of these, always handy for when Im in the office but working away from my desk in a meeting room or something. Looks like a bargain at 30 notes (with FREE batteries lol) and with it being Logitech its gonna last forever. Thanks for taking the time in doing your detailed review on this, greatly appreciated Mike and Kath :-)
I have been using the same MK320 (now discontinued) since 2012. After watching some of your videos on these keyboards, I am going to actually purchase one of these 295s to test it out. Thank you for your straight forward and to the point review and comparison style!
Excellent review. Nice covering of the features and benefits. The contrast you rendered between Logitech's MK295 vs MK270 make this the best review I have found.
I've been using the MK270 for a very long time now (a couple years) and it's still an absolutely excellent keyboard and mouse set - to the point where I'm very apprehensive about moving on. However, my needs have since changed and I now need a keyboard and mouse with features that suit my needs, however I'm considering purchasing the upgraded 295 simply for its silent touch function, and for the familiar feel. All in all, absolutely excellent set for casual and gaming use, highly recommend.
the mk295 is much quieter, and a little more mushy for it. But i have been consistantly using it in our live streams since i bought it and has been flawless even though i have dropped the mouse and keyboard numerous times
12:36 in video this opening is actually to store your usb for keyboard. If you look at an angle on the back it shows a sketched image of usb. Actually slides into the back of the keyboard.
just bought it, nice unit for sure, however, realized from your video, and thanks by the way, the empty space behind the keyboard is not to reduce the noise , is to insert the USB . thanks again for the video..
Perfect. Lately my MK270 was really annoying the hell out of me and I didn't want to spend 200+ for a MX combo. One thing you forgot - but maybe it's specific to the 270 - was to test for flex during typing (270 tends to sag down the middle even when I don't use the legs) but from what I could see from the underside they added pads where it should help so fingers crossed.
MK270 in fact was the best keyboard Logitech released (that one with Logitech label, not Logilink (?) thing that is awful currently due to very pool plastics). I wish I could buy MK270 again, it was almost as perfect as Logitech Navigator keyboard :) Or better, I would buy Navigator again :)
great review. fun story - i decided to buy this keyboard after watching ur review. when it arrived i couldn't find the usb thingi, so i thought i was screwed, until i watched ur review again. thanks dude :)
I personally like the clickiness the MK270 and M185 has vs the newer one. Came across this video when looking up what the difference in since I need a new combo. I'll be buying the 270 again vs this new one. I like the noise and ability to hear what im doing.
Mike, you and PC Builder are my two favorite computer channels. He said he was going to check your channel out. You two both seem like really nice guys you two should be friends. :)
Have seen your Review now. I'm owning this set too. And all I've to say is that is does it's job verry good. Normaly you didn't need to have hardware that is that expensive. For me the price isn't a guaratnor for quality over all. And for the most users I didn't think that a lot would recognize a difference between the cheap and the expensiver one in normal use conditions. So when all you want is useing your computer it's all you need I think because it does the job with a quiet good comfort. The hight isn't that much and it feels like a good compromise between normal hight keyboards and a laptop one. Really like the feeling of the typing of the MK295 Keyboard. The Rubber is stiff and you get a good response of what is goeing on. Even with the good quality of Logitech you should get a good product over all with a good lifetime. Thanks for your good review.

Then the K270 (keyboard without mouse) still comes with unifying. I would be cool if they came out with a K295 or MK295 version with unifiying. Thanks for the review!
I have just purchased the K400+ to use with my spare PC I have just built. I just wanted something small and didn't want the bother of needing a Mouse aswell. Haven't used it much but it seems quite solid! I use a K740 as my main Keyboard and the MX Master Mouse. Both really nice! My MX Laser which I got for Christmas years ago eventually started playing up - it was at least 15 years old!!! The one thing I did like was the Docking/Charging Station which the new ones don't have.....
@@mikesunboxing the only thing is that membrane keyboards took a while for me to get used to because you can't really tell all that well when you are typing because the keys dont really have much of a feeling to them and it was a bit weird at first and I was making a lot of typos. Are they compatible with cherry mx aftermarket keycaps or are they something proprietary. A quick glance at the silent touch white paper tells me it’s the latter.
I'm used to the ergnomic upright style mouse. I wish there was an option to choose that style of wireless mouse with this keyboard. Great review! Thanks for this.

Thanks for the video, I had doubts regarding this model, I am looking for a silent wireless keyboard that allows me to play from time to time and work, apparently this one is good. Will you have any other option other than USB, Bluetooth connection, batteries or long-lasting battery?
A big fan of membrane keyboards, currently rocking a Corsair K55 and I love it. What's the point of making your PC as silent as possible when your mechanical keyboard can be heard on Mars?
Thanks for the video. I want to buy one of these, but are worried about the keys fading. My current MS keyboard's keys are almost all faded due to use. Do you know if Logi suffer from the same issues. I did notice the MK295's keys (white numbers and letters) are lighter than the old MK270.
What I don't understand about these two keyboard-mouse combos is that there seems to be two slightly different versions of each model. One variant has a large inverted L ENTER key while the other variant has a small rectangular one. This applies to both the MK270 and MK295. This is important to me as I much prefer a large Enter key which used to be practically universal on old keyboards. Some online shops even display the two variants (large and small Enter keys) in the same listing.
I have recently bought this keyboard and noticed that the space key is not as silent as the rest of the keys, especially when pressed on the sides. You still hear a normal click sound, same as you do with other, "non-silent" keyboards. Do you experience the same issue with the space key on your keyboard?
@@mikesunboxing just bought it, so no, nothing stuck :). In any case, let me know once you get a chance to test this (i.e. pressing the space bar on the sides and not dead center)
Does it feel lite on the typing, or my wrist is going to hurt? I am looking for something that I can type comfortably during the whole and for productivity. and the experience I have with some keyboards is really hurting my wrist
Hey man! Thanks for the video! Was actually looking for a really silent keyboard as my wife always gets mad when Im clicking on my old one.. I only game at night so it should be an awesome buy! Any other silent keyboards you can recommend? I only saw that one in store close by but would love to get some more options if possible! No need it to be a mechanical but would love some low prpfile laptop like ones :)
Hello, thanks for the video. I have a question: So, this keyboard can't be used without the usb reciver? I would need a wireless keyboard because my laptop has disabled usb ports, so i'd like to know if i can use it without the usb reciver.
BOOORING wireless input devices! Gonna give this video a 10 out of 10 though because this TH-camr is a ruggedly handsome stud whom I find charismatic and charming. 💓
@@outlawfett3530 Don't need alcohol to say nice things about my friends. Would probably need to be hammered pretty good to say good things about GhostAdder though. 😄
First, I thought that nano receiver is missing. Even at the store stuff was confused. Secondly, all this quiet features are nice, but for gaming... here's the problem: the keys have very high actuation force, and they tend to go back unless you press the key hard. Gives me a headache in gaming. -WASD. I'm holding W to move forward, and cutoff distance is ridiculously small. There is literally 0.1mm on/off key travel, so my fingers get tired of hard pressing the keys. For comparison, good ol' K120 Wired, you can gently rest the finger on W key and walk in FPS genre without movement interuptions in games. For typing is fine. Gaming.... I dont know. Maybe WASD will get softer during prolonged use. Right now if I had the money, I would look for something less silent, but not as stiff if you catch my drift
had to use or lose my dell rewards points and this just about uses all of what i had. i can always use a backup keyboard or since its wireless use it in bed. thanks for the comparison.
I loved the keyboard, but I wish it came with Unifying receiver. I would like to use it and keep my M720 mouse. My old K270 has Unifying receiver, but I bought only the keyboard separately. Maybe that was the reason. Thanks for the video, great review/comparison. :)
i just got this for work so i haven’t tested it out at the office yet. instead i tested it with my personal m1 macbook pro and obviously that doesn’t have a type-a slot so i had to use a dongle and the keys are SO crazy unresponsive. obviously coming from the scissor switches, i’m used to exerting only minimal pressure for the keys to register. however, for the mk295, i almost have to drop the entire weight of my fingers down on the keys just for it to register. otherwise, i type literally broken words because half the keys just do not register at all when i press it. is it because it’s not directly connected to the mac? or does it really just take a lot of pressure to get these keys to register?? these weren’t that expensive but i’s hate to spend $20 for nothing as the store doesn’t have a return/exchange policy for preference.
@@mikesunboxing oh wow really? mine is anything but that. i almost have to smack the keys every time i type and it’s really infuriating lol. but if it’s not supposed to be like that i might have it checked out. thanks for the response!
The worst thing they do now is to bundle a mouse and keyboard with a single receiver... Most folks already have a mouse, or want a better mouse, so that's just landfill right there as a compulsory purchase... Why don't they give a tiny discount if you want to skip the mouse??? Also a big step back is the loss of the unifying function (these new keyboards won't register or work with your older mk270r dongle.).
I recently purchased this, and either it didn’t come with a usb receiver or i lost it immediately. I’m still trying to find a compatible replacement but the search has been a mess. Does anyone know anything that might help?
Hello, today I got this keyboard and mouse, I thought that the receiver did not come because I did not see it anywhere and was not tucked inside the mouse, it turns out that I was going to return the seller pissed off, but it was the usb receiver embedded in a small hole in the box, logitech puts it that way on purpose, a very bad location, sorry to tell you that if you threw the box you know where your usb is now XD
Another great review mike. I'm typing this on my 270 which i bought about a year ago on the back of one of your reviews. I think if i was in the market for another combo keyboard and mouse i'd definately give this a go. At the moment i will stick with the old faithful the 270. The new one looks very good at the price.
Great review, I can't make the move to mechanical boards, rubber domes are just too nice. I've just picked one up and my only gripe is the actuation force is a bit high compared to a microsoft equivalent keyboard. Maybe it will wear in! Cheers
I liked the (M)K270, used 3 of them, but they tended to degrade quickly (membrane, character stickers). I'm afraid the k295 will be the same. I switched to mechanical, though the characters did disappear quickly from my CM CK350, too :( .
@@mikesunboxing I've been using a K260 (keyboard + mouse wireless combo) for about ten (!) years, typing on it as we speak. It still functions pretty much perfectly, which is insane for a $25 combo.
@@adamwalter2573 Logitech, all of them. The membrane problem is a bit more difficult to spot, because it is a gradual degradation. When you buy a new unit (after 2 years or 10+ years, it's up to you), the difference will be obvious: you'll be able to type more quickly and with less effort on the new unit as the new membrane is much quicker to return the key to the original position and has a different feeling to it. It may be a general issue on membrane keyboards but I've been a Logitech fan and I have not really tried others. I'm kind of surprised you did not have the sticker issue, however, because it is always very obvious in my case: the letters n, m, k tend to disappear first. (Which is no longer the case, BTW, because I've put the Logitechs on the shelf, returned the Cooler Master and bought a relatively cheap Redragon mechanical with double-shot injection caps).
Nice review 😉 i have been using logitech mouse and keyboards for years. I hope they Will introduce usbc receiver (nowadays really needed with all newer devices, many users switch to bluetooth mouse from an other Brand only because of tablets, laptops with usbc only. I am looking forward to delivery of my first m220 mouse. I use approx 5pcs of m185 (works briliant, but all of them had to be tune up with tape over battery compartment 🙂 realy low holding force, many times lost in a laptop bag)

Some online shops even display the two variants (large and small Enter keys) in the same listing.
the variants are for localisations in the UK we have the larger l shaped enter key
is it supported with macbook pro 2019 ?
I believe so
I have recently bought this keyboard and noticed that the space key is not as silent as the rest of the keys, especially when pressed on the sides. You still hear a normal click sound, same as you do with other, "non-silent" keyboards.
Do you experience the same issue with the space key on your keyboard?
not yet but i will keep an eye (and ear) out for it. not got anything stuck in there?
@@mikesunboxing just bought it, so no, nothing stuck :). In any case, let me know once you get a chance to test this (i.e. pressing the space bar on the sides and not dead center)
Does the lettering on the keys fade on this? It did on the mk270.
it probably will for some people depending on the acid and oils in the skin, but mine still looks like brand new all this time later
Does it feel lite on the typing, or my wrist is going to hurt? I am looking for something that I can type comfortably during the whole and for productivity. and the experience I have with some keyboards is really hurting my wrist
its quite a light touch needed, or maybe look at the sendo keyboard we reviewed that is almost like a laptop keyboard, very light presses needed
@@mikesunboxing thank you, I will take a look at it …
Hey man! Thanks for the video! Was actually looking for a really silent keyboard as my wife always gets mad when Im clicking on my old one.. I only game at night so it should be an awesome buy! Any other silent keyboards you can recommend? I only saw that one in store close by but would love to get some more options if possible! No need it to be a mechanical but would love some low prpfile laptop like ones :)
there was a low profile wireless one we did recently that was pretty quite, made by seenda
is this unifying ready?
no it isn't sorry
Does it work on a Mac OS?
yes it does
can you use the mouse when the keyboard is turned off?
Yes you can
Hello, thanks for the video.
I have a question: So, this keyboard can't be used without the usb reciver? I would need a wireless keyboard because my laptop has disabled usb ports, so i'd like to know if i can use it without the usb reciver.
no it relies on the USB receiver to work
I wanna know about its Latency or does it have delay because of Wireless.
no obvious delay or lag with fresh batteries
@@mikesunboxing any Wired silent keyboards out there?
@@yffar8749 Microsoft 600 is about the closest, I think th-cam.com/video/L4nyDo3JT6s/w-d-xo.html
BOOORING wireless input devices! Gonna give this video a 10 out of 10 though because this TH-camr is a ruggedly handsome stud whom I find charismatic and charming. 💓
please take your meds quick!
James, you drunk?
@@outlawfett3530 Don't need alcohol to say nice things about my friends. Would probably need to be hammered pretty good to say good things about GhostAdder though. 😄
@@jamesmiscellaneous hehe, still not sure bout “ruggedly handsome”
Right now if I had the money, I would look for something less silent, but not as stiff if you catch my drift
had to use or lose my dell rewards points and this just about uses all of what i had. i can always use a backup keyboard or since its wireless use it in bed. thanks for the comparison.
thanks for watching
I lost my receiver. This isnt working with unify. Any ideas??
sadly if that is gone that is it game over
Can i change the key caps?
No sorry I don’t think so
Can you easily clean it? 😅
yes and being water resistant means you can really go to town on it
wonder how latency is of mouse
difficult for me to say really and feels much like any of my wired mice (sorry to the companies that have sent us expensive mice)
tnx man
Hola. ¿En cuál de los teclados es más fácil de apretar las teclas? ¿Cuántos gramos de presión son? Gracias
Not sure, sorry
On 295
I loved the keyboard, but I wish it came with Unifying receiver. I would like to use it and keep my M720 mouse. My old K270 has Unifying receiver, but I bought only the keyboard separately. Maybe that was the reason. Thanks for the video, great review/comparison. :)
thanks for watching and i agree the unifying receiver would have been awesome
what about keys travel. i loved my k270 and i hate the ultraflat modern keyboard with no travel. how is this k295?
there is a bit of travel, not as much as a mechanical keyboard and more than a chiclet style, somewhere in between
Help me out, where is the intro music's coming from? It's driving me mad man, I know it's from a different channel but I can't find it now :(
it is called otis mcmusic and is used by a few channels tech guruji content cop etc
i just got this for work so i haven’t tested it out at the office yet. instead i tested it with my personal m1 macbook pro and obviously that doesn’t have a type-a slot so i had to use a dongle and the keys are SO crazy unresponsive. obviously coming from the scissor switches, i’m used to exerting only minimal pressure for the keys to register. however, for the mk295, i almost have to drop the entire weight of my fingers down on the keys just for it to register. otherwise, i type literally broken words because half the keys just do not register at all when i press it. is it because it’s not directly connected to the mac? or does it really just take a lot of pressure to get these keys to register?? these weren’t that expensive but i’s hate to spend $20 for nothing as the store doesn’t have a return/exchange policy for preference.
it should be pretty light to the touch, mine was and still is
@@mikesunboxing oh wow really? mine is anything but that. i almost have to smack the keys every time i type and it’s really infuriating lol. but if it’s not supposed to be like that i might have it checked out. thanks for the response!
Microsoft keyboard or Logitech is the best?
What is your opinion about mk710?
I want a keyboard not for gaming, what is the best for me?
thank you.
mk270 or mk295 are probably the way to go for wireless, or for wired the microsoft 500
@@mikesunboxing thank you very much.
is there 65% size with silent keyboard? MK295 is quite big to me..
mk220 is a bit smaller but not much, the k200+ is smaller
Would it still work if...llets say i forgot to bring my keyboard to work. Only the mouse would work right?
yes as long as the dongle is present
Este teclado se vende solo?
not that i know of sorry
I usually like my stuff hard-wired, but Logitech usually makes good stuff. :)
Agreed!
how to unpair the keyboard from the receiver
you can't they are factory locked
Best cheap htpc solution. The only con - no backlight... What is the best htpc keyboard? I don't mind to have the mouse separate from the keyboard.
tough to call really, there are a lot to choose from at widely different prices. k400 plus has been a firm favourite of mine
The worst thing they do now is to bundle a mouse and keyboard with a single receiver... Most folks already have a mouse, or want a better mouse, so that's just landfill right there as a compulsory purchase... Why don't they give a tiny discount if you want to skip the mouse??? Also a big step back is the loss of the unifying function (these new keyboards won't register or work with your older mk270r dongle.).
true, very true
Does logitech mk 270 compatible with macbook air m1 via an adaptor?
I honest don’t know for sure but I would think so
I am disappointed you skipped the central click on the mouse, which is essential for me.
sorry about that, not sure how i managed that, i am rubbish at my job
Ok..you just make me notice that my mouse is actually making scratching noise when I move it.. Now I'll hear just that I imagine...🤔😀
i didn't have a clue my mouse was dragging so much until i compared them!
back when i did only care about playing the game. Logitech really helped alot. i stil use a Logitech mouse M510 :_:
logitech are one of the few companies that have been with us from the beginning or the PC journey
I recently purchased this, and either it didn’t come with a usb receiver or i lost it immediately. I’m still trying to find a compatible replacement but the search has been a mess.
Does anyone know anything that might help?
i don't think a replacement is possible sorry
Hello, today I got this keyboard and mouse, I thought that the receiver did not come because I did not see it anywhere and was not tucked inside the mouse, it turns out that I was going to return the seller pissed off, but it was the usb receiver embedded in a small hole in the box, logitech puts it that way on purpose, a very bad location, sorry to tell you that if you threw the box you know where your usb is now XD
@@SightlyJester Thanks for the info 🙂
Another great review mike. I'm typing this on my 270 which i bought about a year ago on the back of one of your reviews. I think if i was in the market for another combo keyboard and mouse i'd definately give this a go. At the moment i will stick with the old faithful the 270. The new one looks very good at the price.
when i reviewed this i was very aware of the fact i still have the mk270 knocking around here and still has tons of like in it
stick to 270, 295 is not ergonomic and leads to mistyping too often (too shallow keys).
Great review, I can't make the move to mechanical boards, rubber domes are just too nice. I've just picked one up and my only gripe is the actuation force is a bit high compared to a microsoft equivalent keyboard. Maybe it will wear in! Cheers
yeah they often do bed in after a while
the mouse broke withing 9 months, but the keyboard is still going
sorry to hear that
I liked the (M)K270, used 3 of them, but they tended to degrade quickly (membrane, character stickers). I'm afraid the k295 will be the same. I switched to mechanical, though the characters did disappear quickly from my CM CK350, too :( .
i think the newer ones use a different process (no surprises there) so the older ones are much better made and longer lasting
@@mikesunboxing I've been using a K260 (keyboard + mouse wireless combo) for about ten (!) years, typing on it as we speak. It still functions pretty much perfectly, which is insane for a $25 combo.
@@JeGoreMoeder That is a long time! Glad it's still going :-)
Was your mk270 labelled Logitech or Logilink ? They seem to be completely different products (quality).
I need a keyboard like this but with wired connectivity and a USB pass-through port. That's all I need for it.
there are a lot of keyboards on the market with USB passthrough, the riotoro ghostwriter prism for example
That would be cool!
usb C is not necessary and a major con on any new device for me, I seek out only devices with no usb c.
But video is very nice thank you
So nice of you
Really get to show off them sausage fingers in this video! If I could like it twice I would! 😄
