    Thanks mam for the simplest explanation of the differences between the blends and composites.
    Mam can the biopolymer-plastic mixture be categorised as blends or composite???

    • @PolymerWorld
      @PolymerWorld  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. Biopolymer-plastic mixture is also categorized as blend and composite e.g., natural fiber reinforced synthetic polymer composite and natural-synthetic polymer blends.

    It's still not clear to me that what's exact differences between miscible blend and compitable blend?
    As I studied, miscible is uniforme and hemogen single phase with one Tg, while compatible blend is uniforme and single phase but with tow Tg. Is that right? In the compitible belnd we cannot see phase seperation in the SEM and mechanical properties also son't change.
    Plesae correct me if i took it worng.

    • @PolymerWorld
      @PolymerWorld  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We have to be very clear about the term - miscible blends are made of polymers which are compatible at molecular scale were are immiscible blend can be made compatible by addition of a compatibilizer. And the blend containing a compatibilizer is called compatibilized blend. A compatibilized blend gives better mechanical properties then non-compatibilized immiscible blend. Compatibilized blends are also called polymer alloy.

    Why PE and PP blend is not compatible?? Please answer

    • @PolymerWorld
      @PolymerWorld  ปีที่แล้ว

      PE and PP form immiscible blends due to entropy. Entropy measures randomness of polymer chains. To mix well with each other entropy of the mix should be higher than the individual polymers. But due to branch structure of PP and linear structure of PE these polymers do not come close to each other rather like to stay with similar polymer chains therefore do not mix well.

    • @muhammadkashan1441
      @muhammadkashan1441 ปีที่แล้ว

      Might be the difference of Tg ?

    So polymer blend single or phase

    • @jo.108
      @jo.108 ปีที่แล้ว

      * or two phase

    • @PolymerWorld
      @PolymerWorld  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Polymer blend is mixture of two or more than two polymers. If the two polymers form miscible blend they form single phase. If blend is immiscible then two phases form.
