I swear when I watched this in 2006 I could read the drummer's Black Flag T shirt.

I like how the melody is in 12/8 time, but the drums are in straight-ahead 4/4 rock beat (if it were Stravinsky they'd call it 'polyrhythm').
    Jeez I miss this band...

i truly believe indie kids have more passion than any other labeled teenager. with music like this going through our heads, our imagination becomes limitless, and our ability to just break out with pure power becomes as simple as taking a piss. it is somewhat incredible.

Pure genius without a doubt. Hope youve seen the video on this , never has there been a more original sync or synergy between sound and vision.

      Arithmetic!
And same here. Saw them open for Modest Mouse in NYC in 04. Saw them again with a tag team of my misfit friends in New Haven CT in March of the next year. They closed with Dinner Bells and I still probably have hearing loss. Good times.
During the show, Dan handed his red stripe to my friend who was 15. He chugged it and kept the bottle as a souvenir for quite sometime lol. He’s in a fairly successful band now. Must have been the Red Stipe.

nobody thinks they are better. i certainly dont. but look at the guitarist in this video. the power he's just throwing out there is incredible. you cant get that with anything else. being an "indie kid" is nothing more than a label but if you acquire that label, you probably have a great deal of passion to exert.

Everybody shut up. First of all, never compare slayer to these men. Secondly, these guys are doing what they love.. and I love it too. Who cares if they become super famous or sign to a big label? Listen to the music.

you'd think so, if you get a picture of the headstock you'd see that there is an epiphone sticker over a jay turser logo. it's actually a jay turser jt-134QMT; with a few modifications.

Making music that has texture and evokes a feeling is what makes it art - I question highly if Slayer or any other noise metal band can evoke anything other than rage. If that's what you want then listen to it - I'm not a 15 year old boy however; so, I would like more to my music than that :-)

That is an absurd statement. I do agree that these guys have an amazingly inspiring amount of energy and passion. You've got that right, but first of all, labels do nothing but set limits, so to acquire a label is like fitting a stereotype. Second: I completely disagree that Indie music the only music exerting this much passion. I think it's less about the genre and more about the artist because there are so many indie bands that suck. Same with any genre.

Wow someone named Slayerfan27 saying this hurts his ears? Ironic. Sorry the song isn't about dragons and reigning in fire death and blood. When you grow up and out of your low-brow metal maybe you'll appreciate interesting/good music and writing.

To a certain extent, but nothing is more powerful than being known by your own name. You could be called the weirdest Hip Hop/Punk/Reggae/Folk type of artist, but it's still just a crude/limiting way of describing who YOU are.

I love Wolf Parade, but this is godawful. The singer can't keep up with the way-too-fast tempo, he fucks up the words, he can't hold the notes, everything is mixed awfully, you can barely hear anything...for shame.
