A special time in music. Cheers to these times!
Listen to the words! "Give me your eyes, I need sunshine, Your blood, your bones, your voice, and your ghost"
This is one of the rare occasions that I don't even care that the video is 240p
Makes it even better haha
I swear when I watched this in 2006 I could read the drummer's Black Flag T shirt.
I like how the melody is in 12/8 time, but the drums are in straight-ahead 4/4 rock beat (if it were Stravinsky they'd call it 'polyrhythm').
Jeez I miss this band...
Great rhythm analysis
Yup!!! Was here! Amazing!
Here in 2023
great crazy how much energy goes in to there music
always enjoy listening to this song. . .its good to hear something different
Absolute genius. Wolf parade rock.
i truly believe indie kids have more passion than any other labeled teenager. with music like this going through our heads, our imagination becomes limitless, and our ability to just break out with pure power becomes as simple as taking a piss. it is somewhat incredible.
Pure genius without a doubt. Hope youve seen the video on this , never has there been a more original sync or synergy between sound and vision.
i disagree with everyone... this performance kicks ass!!! and his voice is awesome
Still here
You ever just survive a song?
I keep coming back however many years later. Math and such.
Arithmetic!
And same here. Saw them open for Modest Mouse in NYC in 04. Saw them again with a tag team of my misfit friends in New Haven CT in March of the next year. They closed with Dinner Bells and I still probably have hearing loss. Good times.
During the show, Dan handed his red stripe to my friend who was 15. He chugged it and kept the bottle as a souvenir for quite sometime lol. He’s in a fairly successful band now. Must have been the Red Stipe.
I love all kinds of music, from metal to this and to kanye west. Music is music
this is utter awesomeness.
nobody thinks they are better. i certainly dont. but look at the guitarist in this video. the power he's just throwing out there is incredible. you cant get that with anything else. being an "indie kid" is nothing more than a label but if you acquire that label, you probably have a great deal of passion to exert.
One of the oldest videos on youtube and still only 160k views as of june '24. Gotta love indie rock!
Everybody shut up. First of all, never compare slayer to these men. Secondly, these guys are doing what they love.. and I love it too. Who cares if they become super famous or sign to a big label? Listen to the music.
The best.
seeing as this performance (and my comment) is over two years old, i don't doubt you. they've probably had a lot of time to improve.
you are wrong. i saw them live. they were amazing.
cheer sss from Perú
awsome
you'd think so, if you get a picture of the headstock you'd see that there is an epiphone sticker over a jay turser logo. it's actually a jay turser jt-134QMT; with a few modifications.
not so much for me but both are excellent bands. respect 4 canadas music act
ohhh man i can handle good music, believe me
Making music that has texture and evokes a feeling is what makes it art - I question highly if Slayer or any other noise metal band can evoke anything other than rage. If that's what you want then listen to it - I'm not a 15 year old boy however; so, I would like more to my music than that :-)
it sound bad in the beginning but its really catchy. gonna have a eye for em
this is awsome shit
Yah hadji!!,
I have to say, these guys rock and so does Zorgdos. Go you, man, about time someone stood up to stupid people that are being stupid(well of course) and don't know good talent/music.
oh by the way, this is directed to battery21
Wow, Ifuckin'loveit! c:
Ooh, an anarcho cat tattoo, awesome!
PS - i enjoy this band
C'mon, guys. A Job Well Done! digestion plot What's your opinion about it 11
im commenting
good job
sick band, lol guitarist looks trippy
That is an absurd statement. I do agree that these guys have an amazingly inspiring amount of energy and passion. You've got that right, but first of all, labels do nothing but set limits, so to acquire a label is like fitting a stereotype. Second: I completely disagree that Indie music the only music exerting this much passion. I think it's less about the genre and more about the artist because there are so many indie bands that suck. Same with any genre.
@ekelsey4 Yeah he proved that at Bonnaroo when Pearl Jam put him in his place
my dream is to the hipster shuffle to cool music
whoops, make that four.
Wow someone named Slayerfan27 saying this hurts his ears? Ironic. Sorry the song isn't about dragons and reigning in fire death and blood. When you grow up and out of your low-brow metal maybe you'll appreciate interesting/good music and writing.
you are funny, but slayer isnt the only band iam listening to, there are thopusands of people listening to slayer, because they are great, if this band will make it this far, i will say sorry
@0:44 sec that nigga gon crazy!
44
I give up lol
@bababu7
To a certain extent, but nothing is more powerful than being known by your own name. You could be called the weirdest Hip Hop/Punk/Reggae/Folk type of artist, but it's still just a crude/limiting way of describing who YOU are.
Haha
LiamMalakian you favourited an Oasis video. You have zero credibility.
Vocals sound better on the album when they're doubled and buried a bit.
@TheLunchBawx Kanye isn't music, HE'S THE GENIUS OF OUR GENERATION
skinny white boys making whopping noises... but, in a good way.
but i hope you agree with me, slayer made better music
As much as I love this song, I just don't think this performance sounds good.
I did'nt like it. They have a soul they are different but they haven't a real music.
I love Wolf Parade, but this is godawful. The singer can't keep up with the way-too-fast tempo, he fucks up the words, he can't hold the notes, everything is mixed awfully, you can barely hear anything...for shame.
this is one of my favorite songs in the world, but this perfomance sucks. now i know never to see wolf parade live.
sorry I absolutely love Wolf Parade and I'm prepared for the inevitable slating but this performance looks like all the band have Down Syndrome. Cringe worthy.
