Recommend everybody listen to the music podcast Fortune Kit. Dan’s one of the hosts and it’s crazy how casually he just spews out knowledge of all sorts of topics.

These seem like the most interesting guys on the planet to talk to, they also know what they're talking about both genre wise and actual music wise, which can't be said for everyone in these videos.

One of my favorite episodes of this show, by far. Their knowledge and advocacy of what influenced them is excellent, and I quite enjoy the seeming leitmotif of seminal Canadian bands that Canada chooses to ignore. In that same spirit, I feel that Americans often overlook this incredibly sharp and tuneful band. They carry within them all the great germs of the music they admire: urgency, angularity, ambitious songs in a tight pop format, emotion in the face of machinery.

This is one of the best episodes I've seen. I've literally never listened to these guys but they clearly have a deep love and knowledge of music (and also impeccable taste). And you can tell its genuine, they're not just trying to name drop obscure bands. They're passionate about it

It's really nice to hear the influences of Dan's choices on his work with Wolf Parade and Handsome Furs, especially with John Foxx and Skinny Puppy. It's also great to see both of them rep the under-appreciated musical acts of Canada.

Brooklyn hip-hop group Non Phixion, particularly ILL Bill, were such big fans of Voivod that he went high and low searching for them to see if they can design their logo as homage. That's why their logo looks so similarly to what Voivod were doing.

Wow, Električni Orgazam! Their second album. That's a surprise. He's on point about the punk/post punk/new wave scene there at that time. They just reissued some of the most iconic albums on their 40th anniversary. One of them is the first album of Električni Orgazam, their best album.

Actually never listened to Wolf Parade, ended up here because of Dan Boeckner 's excellent political podcast The Bottlemen. Very impressed by the musical knowledge and perspective. hailz to Voivod and Matt Christman.
