2010 is when I first discovered MPM Soundtracks.. 9 years later I remember playing this in a Bangkok hotel room back in October.. it was a work trip for a few months.. and kinda depressing .. the room was dark with some light creeping into the room through the window .. faint noises of late night traffic.. yet with this tune playing.. kinda reminds me that it’s going to be okay and things will get better..
Was here and left a comment 9 years ago. Writing a new one as I'm still praying stupidly for two things 1) the original video upload for this tune to reapear (boat circling in the marina) 2) MPM to comeback... Even if i know it will never happen. This guy's music is pure heart.

I remember when I use to smoke and drive on Saturday afternoons, down the suburbs of Los Angeles listening to this. Everything around me would move at half speed, and the sunlight would sparkle. That's when I reach Nirvana and become the embodiment of eternal peace. Truly a gem to remember
Glad I was born in the 80's where Nintendo, Master System, Air Wolf, Knight Rider, Nightmare on Elm St, Freestyle, Synth, Gameboy, Beverly Hills Cops, RoboCop and soo much more were awesome.
Envoûtant , voyageur , nostalgique : c 'est ce qui me vient à l'esprit quand je réécoute encore et encore cette merveille . Un grand merci MPM , ton style particulier et unique restera forgé dans ma mémoire .
I used to look up so much music back in the myspace days (since even by then in the mid 2000's I knew I had to look up indie artists who made the kind of music I loved, but wasn't popular anymore) and yet somehow MPM and the synthwave scene completely went over my head. Didn't discover it until 2011 and by then MPM was already just about done making music. I heard there were a lot of songs on his page that are now lost.
@@Vaporvice84 this was the best tbh. College was really good as well. Uncle TNUC made great videos for a lot of those artists back then, his MySpace was great!
@@fsns I I LOVE TNUC. Discovered his blog about a year and a half ago and had to deep dive everything he's done. Love his posts and spirit of keeping the 80's alive. His "2 Crude Dudes" playlist gets MANY revisits when I have a long highway drive ahead of me.
I actually call it all "New-retrowave" music. Synthwave is a subgenre. Synthwave is Mitch Murder and Miami Nights 1984. Dreamwave is MPM, Timecop 1983, and Sunglasses kid. Betamaxx lies somewhere in between.
Wow !!! I was looking for this track for ages...It's also my favourite.... I coudnt stop watching that vid showing the go-fast boat making circles in Miami's Riviera with these warm and atmospheric synth sounds.... Classic !!!! Thanks a lot !
What Tyler said is accurate information. There's a mystery around MPM Soundtracks because everyone wants to know who he is, but we're all in the dark about him. He quit for sometime due to people stealing his music and putting it out on the internet when he wasn't finished with the final product of the songs, which I'm not sure how much truth to this story is because like I said no one knows him...He whose name we do not speak of.
:DDDDD just what always reminds me of the beauty of the 80's great synthpop music and a white TESTAROSSA CABRIO :)thanx for bringing back the good childhood memories.
I think he was born in 1982. He was going to release an album with that year in the title. And for a very brief time he changed his name from "MPM" to "9812 soundtracks" (1982 with the numbers moved around).
Someone seriously needs to take a bunch of clips of Sonny driving his car and set it to this song. With the last shot being him driving off in the final episode, of course.
I'm trying to get some background on this guy,was he an artist from the 1980's or did he just decide recently to make 80's style electronic music?. either way he's amazing i just want to know!
Then, just type Johnny Nintendo Are you sure you can't play it injapan? remember to add 3w before the link, the music is free and it's copylefted so it should play in japan as well. If any of this works, I'll ask the uploader to send you a link from his page. Kiotsukete ne.
There was no one like MPM and there never will be. This is the real synthwave, that will forever be cherished by the few that know of its presence.
Mike R so true..
one of the greatest retrosynth tracks of all time. pure nostalgia

soul-crushing nostalgia. I remember riding bikes with the brodies back in '86, not a care in the world. The sun shined different back then. Peace ✌🏽
This is some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard.

I'm not really sure why but the chords on this make me cry. They're so beautiful

chill mix ,I miss the 80s
Back to being young, back to being summer....
Where can I find the definitive history of this guy?
It's simply criminal that he's not composing anymore.
TH-cam channel called "The freewave" did a deep-dive video on MPM's history, about 5-6 years ago I think.
@@Vaporvice84 Many Thanks 🙏🏻
I’ve listened to this religiously since the myspace days 💕

@@Vaporvice84 I should check that out 😎
reminds me of my childhood in the late 80's. Especially when I first got my NES for Christmas.
Is this what 'sad' synthwave sounds like? A ballad for machines when the rain is falling.

whenever stressed I put on my fan ,spark a blunt close my eyes and just drifted off to a place and time in my life where I had no responsibility
I looked up this video after 4 years to read this epic comment to this epic sound again.

MPM une étoile parmis les étoiles :)
Thanks, it's a really great song.. definitely one of my favorites of this genre.
This is definitely one of those deep thoughts songs and its amazing. Also it has an essence of romance and makes you think of a sun set happy ending.

82 was a great year!
Some songs just need to be listened to at night in a city when you are sad. Or happy.
Yesterday with the single mirror is the one.
1984
I just want to cruise on the parkway while playing this chill track
This was my comment 7 years ago. I'm still listening to this song.
I was dreaming of exactly the same thing.
and just like that, the 80's were reborn.
Sounds smooth man! Thanks 4 sharing.
