I love the technique of using the neocolor crayons to bring out those birds…. Gorgeous!! Thanks so much for taking the time to share this with us!
Thanks so much! I am glad that I used the neocolors but now I’m wondering if I should try to seal them in some way …undecided😊💖
The coloring on the birds really does bring them out.
Yes, I’m glad I added that little detail at the end
That turned out really pretty! Thanks for showing us how to make a journal out of a book! Very cool!
Thank you for this tutorial!!!! Great information and i tried something new. I'm just a perfectionists. So i drive myself crazy. Yours is beautiful!💜
I loved your video. The colors you used to paint the book covers, the layering and distressing, and the napkin decoupage. The fabric spine and the signatures all came together beautifully. Thank you❤
Thank you - I’m so glad you liked it! I honestly had a very vague thought in my mind for this journal and I’m so pleased with the way it turned out😊💖
I have never seen one of your videos before and am so glad TH-cam put you on my list of recommended views. I very much like your style of presentation and teaching and although when you started, especially with the painting of the covers, I had my doubts, but the finished product is one I would be proud to own. Even your choice of spinal cloth I queried until you added the crocheted lace. Just beautiful. I now know better than to doubt anything you do and will in future, wait to be surprised with your gorgeous final product. Thank you for sharing your talent and creativity.
Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. When I start a project I usually don’t have a clear idea of how it will turn out - just kind of a vague idea. But I love working on a project until I like it! 😊💚
I would have given up and tossed it after the first layer of paint didn’t work out. I love your tenacity and stick-with-it-ness which produced such a lovely piece. Thanks!❤❤
Thanks! One of the things I love about mixed media is that I believe things can always be fixed. I never give up or throw things away! I just keep going until I like it😊💖
Beautiful!! Loving the colors you created for the cover. I love using napkins and this one is just perfect! Another great video! ❤
Very well done...and pretty...........................😻

Such a beautiful journal cover!😍Love everything about it and adding color to the birds was the perfect touch.
Thank you!💖
I love the added color in the birds it’s so funny you fix the “problem” as I’m watching I’m wondering what you will do and then you do it!!! With the color I love it!
Thanks Johanne! I just take it one step at a time😊💚
Wow. I like this

Thank you! Good luck with your journal - I hope it’s the first of many😊💖
@@madebymartha Thank you!
Three hour pamphlet stitch is my favorite 🥰💯. The lace you used is a table runner. 😉. Beautiful work ❤️💯
Thank you!😊💚
I just tried the napkin technique, it worked like a charm! Thank you for sharing that. I think you’re book turned out great.
@@heatherm2125 I’m glad you like that technique! It’s great - this was the first time I had tried it when I recorded this video and I can’t believe it worked so well the very first time😊💚
Great tutorial💕 love the colouring of the birds at the end, really bought them out well 😊
Thanks - I’m glad you enjoyed it. I was worried that I would ruin the birds with the coloring in, but it worked out!💚
Such a pretty journal!💗
I absolutely loved this process so much! I just watched the foam stamp video too and am feeling inspired to make something this weekend thanks to you 🥰
I’m so happy that I was able to inspire you! Happy creating this weekend😊💖
Very good video. Love the technique for gluing down napkins. That’s great. I actually have those same napkins. Thank you.
@@babawawa1953 glad you liked it and thanks for watching!
Very very nice! I ❤ the video efficiency. And great inspiration. Thank you. 🙏🏻
Thanks for watching and I’m so glad that you got some inspiration from it😊💚
Beautiful! Love this project. Thanks for the great video!
Thank you so much!
Beautiful cover Martha. I must try this out Great share 💕
Thanks so much Ann😊💚
Absolutely beautiful 💜
Thank you!
Very pretty. First time here.
Thanks💚
So beautifully done! The tip to put on napkins is brilliant. The cover turned out so well! About how many pages do you put in each signature? The little bit of color you added to the birds (neocolors) just is perfect. 🩵 Do you have any other videos where you use them? (I’m intrigued 😉)
Happy making! ~ Lori
Thank you - I’m so glad you like it. The number of pages in a signature varies a bit but in general I use 10 papers folded in half for each signature. I don’t have any more videos using the neocolors. To be honest, I don’t use them very often, but I am trying to use supplies more this year 😊💖
Absolutely beautiful cover 😍
Thank you 😊💚
This looks great ❤
It's pretty
Fabulous 🤍🤍🤍
@@cherylmacedo5521 thank you!
C'est un plaisir de vous regarder faire!
Faites vous des livres pour les garder. ? Merci
New subscriber. You popped up on my feed. I really enjoyed watching your process and I will be trying the napkin technique. Very interesting. ❤ Your cover is beautiful. Joan
So happy that you enjoyed the video and the process! Thanks for watching!
New to your channel love the covers❤
Qué pena que no se ha visto cómo colocar las hojas interiores. Ha quedado precioso.
A lovely journal. The crochet lace doily is such a pretty touch. The video speed is fine for me and I just stop it, if I need to. I like the voice-over strategy for videos, and your voice is especially nice to listen to. If the cover gets wets, will the neocolor watercolor reactivate? Just curious.
Thank you so much! I don’t like really long videos myself so I try to make my videos as quick as possible but still understandable. I did not cover the neocolors so they would reactivate with water.
If I use a fussy cut tree and make the background red cause theres red in the tree. What colors would look blended on top? I'm going to modpodge the tree on then put wax paper and my heat tube on top on top of the wax paper to get wrinkles out.
luv an Peace
Charito💜
I’m not sure I understand your process. I’ve never attached wax paper to my projects before so I’m not sure I can give you advice on that.
Beautiful! Do those crayons need to be sealed after they dry?
Thanks! The neocolors do need to be sealed if you think they would come into contact with anything wet. A spray wood work the best on something like that.
What type of fabric do you use for the spine? Thank you.
The outside fabric is part of a shower curtain I bought, but never used. I’m not sure what it’s made of.
Luv the process and how it came out!
What is the name of the dropcloth you ordered on Amazon? Thank you!
Thanks! Here’s the link to the dropcloth I purchased www.amazon.com/gp/product/B010O5HZVW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Thank you so much for taking the time to give me the link! 💜
Hi 👋 just ✍️ 🤝 🇩🇰 💃
About the napkin..the best idea ever 😃 but I am 🤔🤔 did you cover/protect it with any kind? Matt cover or glossy cover? (Gesso, laque...)
Thanks! I did use matte medium underneath and on top of the napkin to protect it. I did not seal the neocolors though. They would reactivate if they came into contact with anything wet.
👍😀🤝🫶👋
@@madebymartha I only put wax paper on top of modpodging paper , like making writing boards and you a heatgun to get the wrinkles out.
But i found it difficult to do the blending of paints and sand sanding. I guess i need more practice....💜
