I love "gold" like this, straight from the lips of the ones who created a racing dynasty. Right from memory, the Petty's impressions of what it was like to be "boots on the ground" in late 40's- 50's NASCAR. "It was lots different." "We had to RACE." "Nobody had any money." Great work Petty Bros.

I sure like hearing Chief commenting in the background and pix of Mama Trish. The world just isn't the same without them. >>> Brian

"Another family member you stood by" Let me tell everybody that The National Guard probably couldn't have removed Mrs. Petty from Lee's side during his time of need! Times were tougher back then & so were the people of those hard times, simply put they were cut from a different cloth than the generations that followed them 💪
God bless The Petty Family & RIP to all who have passed on 🙏✝️

Hello Petty family, I have always been told that Richard Petty was my cousin , I wish I knew for sure lol
My name is Sharon Petty Strain .
My dad said he knew Lee Petty more than Richard , my dad was John Henry Petty and he was born in Shelby NC in 1920. He was a minister and musician. I grew up always thinking im kin to Richard Petty but i just don't know . We could be whole different set of Petty's .
My dad did mention something about the Bell family....?
My grandfather's name was Albert Petty .
I was looking at my dad's picture and pictures of Lee Petty and it was scary on how much they favored each other . Anyhow im hoping all is going well with the Petty family and prayers and blessings always
A fan , that may be related lol❤
