Truly the most beautiful way I've seen this trick presented. It is a perfect example on how to use a trick to tell a great story and not use a weak story to show a trick.
Maybe P&T know how you did it, but I sure don't. The story telling was great, but the illusion with the cards is what I came to see and it was mind-blowing. Thank you!
I love love loved this. Telling the story through the cards, just beautiful and for me, completely flawless. And when you took your glasses off and said "we win" I just loved it and clapped, just great
I dont know I have just come across this video, but you did a remarkable job. This is the beauty of a true magician. Wonderful job with this act, Thank you very much for sharing you work.
That was by far the finest presentation of that effect I've ever seen. Your kind of compelling narrative storytelling is too often missing from modern magic, with even one of the best-known magicians on the planet dispensing with it almost entirely. But you stay true to the art. Needless to say I know how it's done, but don't you dare change a single second of that routine! It's just beautiful, start to finish. 👏
I think I have seen hundreds of clips and Penn does praise people at times, but not like that. You can feel Teller is about to cry there at the end. Truly magnificent performance and words from Penn and Teller.
I have a feeling Penn and Teller invited him just so he gains a bit more popularity, because of the popularity of the show. Maybe they did not expect him to fool them, but they wanted to make him more known and popular. For this, Penn and Teller have my deepest gratitude, not just as magicians, but as human beings. I really enjoy their show, as it introduces not just new, but also established people, who might be just a bit out of the public eye. Respect!
I believe that's exactly what Penn said after Javi Benitez performance. The show is not about fooling "the smartest guys", it's about bringing the best magicians from around the world so we can experience their art.
But, as Penn says, they have to play the game. So some incredibly talented magicians with stunning acts that could or do fill theatres won't get a trophy. But they get to perform for arguably the largest audience in the world and get a priceless endorsement from Penn and Teller.
I don’t know if P&T select the acts. It seems that they are often surprised by who appears. And that the producers regularly pick different types of people - friends of P&T, upcoming youth, unknowns, international, women, etc (and some fit more than one category). It’s all good!
When those two tell you you're amongst the best ... :open mouth: Of all the forms of magic, I have ever loved close up card tricks the best; the knowing that it is the skill of the magician against the acuity of your perceptions just makes the whole thing all the purer.
Such a performance, I was thoroughly entertained with the story. 😊 Penn might have said that he's not going to talk in code but a few quick words afterwards confirmed that the trick was known.
I love to know how tricks are done. And I understand the last move. But I sincerely don't want to know any moves before, because I did not see anything, it was handled that well. And of course embedding in the story took it to another level. Just wonderful :)
I am pretty sure of he was placing in one foolinf element, but they were dumb to notice it. He didn't want to insist, the friendship is more important. It was disappointing that they didn't expect him to put a twist in it.
@@psamelson totally agreed next I will be on America's Got Talent wish me luck. By the way I'm going back on there if you have any ideas I'm wide open!

The only move I saw was the last one, and that's after watching it a few times. I do know how you got three sevens on the table. Don't know about the first king or where all four of them went. I'd like to never know.
@@dallassukerkin6878 I want to know tricks to be able to do them by myself. I've "decoded" almost everything in seasons 1 and 2, now I am getting lost XD Here for example I know it's a variant of the wild cards, but I can't explain how he can turn every card in the end. I would know how to do it without turning them all. Great trick.
Teller is so moved to see his long time friend on the show that he is left SPEECHLESS! 🤣 But seriously though, it did look as though Teller & Penn as well were moved by this act.
Irehan needs to explain this cuz I'm perplexed. I hate it when I don't have even a smidgen of an idea. I don't mind being wrong, but I loathe it when I get brain freeze and feel like a nincompoop. 😂
Seriously ? It's just an old trick called Wild card like Penn said. Look for tutorials on youtube. It's done with gaffe cards with king on one side and 7 on the other. Look at 3:22 - when he turns the cards the king that was in the middle shows the other side - the 7. The same thing at 3:42. However he uses a combination of effects not just that. Penn mentions wrinkles so he probably uses flap cards. At 3:03 you can see that king he will turn has another card behind it. Camera cuts on this show are atrocious.
Lol... even with a virtual audience, they still use the same laugh box. I love it when magicians come on just for the sake of showing what they got. They know they aren't going to get the win, but being able to to the performance in that setting is more than enough for them.
Comes out saying, "I'm not trying to convince you that what I'm doing is magic." And then proceeds to totally convince me that this is actual magic. I have never seen this before. People are mentioning seeing it before. Is this a more common trick that I've missed somehow? The effect is amazing. Penn mentions that it's not a stock trick, and I'm sure someone as great as Mr. Samelson has probably just shown us several tricks to get the full effect, but I really want to know what the base trick is.
I believe this a simple gimmick utilized very smoothly with minimal sleight of hand and masked with excellent showmanship. knowing what the gimmick is won't automatically make you fully aware of what he did for the entire effect, but it does help with some of the rough edges
Truly the most beautiful way I've seen this trick presented. It is a perfect example on how to use a trick to tell a great story and not use a weak story to show a trick.

It looks so effortless. It's just a sublime way to make a story match the trick. You could do this with one hand and one eye closed. It's so smooth.
I loved the narration and the presentation of the act. Great performance, I was captivated by the story!
I’ve done card and close up for years and there’s at least two moves that I’m totally stumped on. Super slick.

This is the Most beautiful told story, without fancy props! JUST LOVED IT!
Peter just had to comment and say I love this presentation. I was hoping you would end with “You’re Next! You’re Next!”
To see a legend like Penn praise a fellow practitioner so abundantly speaks well for both Penn and the performer.
One of my favorite movies told by one of my favorite magicians! Bravo. Beautifully done Peter.
The story telling and theatrics here is probably the best ever on the show. Phenomenal and Soo well done.

I think this is my favourite one. When he said "WE win" i really got the chills. THIS is the magic I love
Yes! I didn’t hear any reaction from the audience at this, which surprised me, but hopefully it was just because they were all “shook”.
There was no live audience when this was filmed!
