I'm going to see if I can get a turnbuckle set for it, to give me a little adjustment, to stabilise the rear end a bit more, i like it to kick out, but would like to have a little more control, almost drift like. Hi there and thank you for watching and leaving me a nice comment. This is a resin body. The top coat is the Tamiya TS8 Italian Red. But first I primed with the Tamiya grey primer, to give the Italian Red a deeper shade. You could use a white primer, this would give a brighter red, as opposed to the deep red I have. Honestly, this was such fun, I was really surprised with the stability, I was worried about overturning it and scratching that bodywork 🫣🙏. But it was so nice to run, I was disappointed when the battery pack went flat 🤣😂😎. I’m still hobbling about a bit, after my operation, but it was so nice to run, even if it was just out the front area of my home. Hiya John. Oh yeah the Blitzer is a great fun chassis. You did mention about the tyres at the end and you are right that those tiny spikes will wear out pretty quickly on tarmac. I only tend to use those tyres on the grass to save wear. Anyway you were certainly enjoying yourself out there and you managed not to roll it and spoil the lovely shell. I wanted to go to a more grassy area, but I was still hobbling around at the time, so could only manage to get out the front, where I live, but I wanted to run something and this was the easiest one on the shelf 😂🤣😂I was worried about it rolling over, but I think with the standard 540 motor, I need not have worried, so for now, the shell is safe again 🤣😂😉😊. I’m getting more and more stronger now, so started to venture a bit more, to get some more running videos. I’ve even started to get used to my Akaso action camera too 👀🧐. Looks great John but those poor tires on the street being whipped around, ouch!! LOL Also, this is just me, but I wouldn't be driving over that grate just in case something lets go then it's lost... Again, that's just me. I was however, waiting to see you hop it off the walk (curb) just to get some air under the tires.. I bet its great to get outside dude!! Great video again man. It was Sod’s Law, I could get on camera hopping off the kerb, but off camera, no problem. I was trying to avoid that drainage system I promise 😂😊😉Best wishes to you and the family. 😊😉
Hey what classic Bug look to your Blitzer Beetle. The Red really pops. I just finished putting one together. At first I had issues with the steering. Like it would not stay straight, I always had to adjust the trim. Did you find that too? Cheers!
Hi there Mauzy, thank you for watching and popping by and leaving me a lovely comment. Yes, I too had to play with the steering setup quite a lot to get a satisfactory geometry. There is still some slack in the setup, including the front axles too. But I’ve managed to true everything as best as possible. I might have to have a play around with the servo saver, perhaps change to a small arm and get some more shims for the front axle stubs to take out some of the slack. Red always looks good on camera....why have I not done that. John, donyou find the back end slides round a little too easily? Mine did in loose dirt and then I installed the DT-02 turnbuckle set and it handled so good.
