This isn't political. She literally never expresses a political opinion. It's a style analysis, both positive and negative, of a public figure. She criticizes the style of politicians on both sides of the aisle. I know it's a tense day for some, but not everything is political, and people really need to calm down and chill :)
Yeah. But the timing....and the positive descriptors. To each her own. I wouldn't have posted this today, to remove any questions of it being a promotional ad. Anyway, no stress. Just opinions.
I noticed how you referred to the female politicians by their last names, just like how we refer to male politicians. That makes a big difference for equality for women in this space. I appreciate you incorporating that detail when discussing their style!
As someone who enjoys studying the branding of politicians especially post Obama, this is very interesting to me, I actually find this relaxing compared to watching the countdown clock on CNN
This was interesting, as I've considered a number of times what thought process goes into ideal fashions for a female candidate. It isn't something I've had to consider much in my personal life (probably in part because I am quite tall), but I know many women work hard to find that perfect balance between strength and softness in roles of leadership. I don't particularly care for Kamala, but I have definitely stopped and admired that deep green pantsuit a time or two. I believe there's a light blue I've really liked as well :) In addition to your recommendation of altering jacket length, I would also suggest finding jackets with a lower button placement or leaving jackets unbuttoned in general. Currently (or at least recently), the buttoned look seems to hit too high and I always want to fix it, lol Never had very particular thoughts about Hillary's style, but I actually thought she had a fair few amazing looks in 2016. I distinctly remember a white pantsuit, as well as a soft yellow one, both of which made me take a moment and just appreciate her human appearance. In that context, I don't care what a person's politics are -- a good look is a good look ✨
Great analysis! I love how you kept it focused on style. We can all ponder the far- reaching consequences that style can have, especially concerning women in leadership roles.
Very helpful, thank you for this video!!! Soft and petite women have such bad choices (available from fashion designers) when it comes to business wear.
I was really hoping for a Harris analysis so thank you! Interesting analysts of how to honor your coloring and body type while looking authoratative. Is she Flamboyant Natural?
I agree. Kamala is my doppelgänger. Same skin color, same natural hair texture, same yin/yang balance. I’ve been told many times I look like her. I would NEVER dress like this, especially when trying to achieve command. I would only dress like this if I DIDN’T want to be noticed. It is extremely dowdy. The straightened hair is not enhancing her facial features, but dragging them down into an unbalanced long face. I much prefer the looks of many of the First Ladies over the women candidates. Even Monica Lewinsky as a lowly intern was better dressed. I’m not saying Kamala needs to go in like she’s at the nightclub, but more color and shape in professional suits would help her image.
@@TheHeiress1 Seriously, I’m not American, I won’t vote for any of them anyway, but Trump looks like someone who makes sure every day to be the ugliest person in the room. It’s not Merriam’s fault.
Yes, where are the pictures of KH cackling and constantly rubbing her nose like she did in that book tour interview? Mr. T was a very handsome man when he was younger as are all of his sons. Looks however are only surface level and don't show capacity or intellect. You can dress the part but if you haven't done the work, you have nothing to offer. As far as the other reply to your comment all I can say is, it's better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.
@@CC22117 I mean… Trump isn’t that intelligent. And the women voting for him even less. Imagine agreeing with policies that cause women deaths… Imagine supporting people that think denying women abortions they need to survive when their health is threatened by a pregnancy.
Midway through this video, I remember thinking "oh no, someone is going to make this political even though it has nothing to do with politics". Super sad when everything has to become political for someone. She is literally just talking about how to look professional. She criticized the style of a male Republican and a male who ran as a Democrat, and she's both praising and critiquing the style of multiple female Democrats. It's not even like she's just praising Kamala's style (even though that would still not be a political opinion, haha).
Not american but very interested in a Kamala Harris fashion analysis. Her pantsuit game and styling is gorgeous, and you need to walk a fine like between elegance and authority as a woman in politics, where they expect you to look attractive in a very specific way while the men can just throw on a random suit. So definitely a very interesting topic.
I'm interested to hear your evaluation but very bad taste for you to to drop this on election day. You must have known that move would be controversial. I watch channels like yours to get a break from politics.
I understand your feelings but it's pertinent today because Harris is a candidate in the election. I watch these videos for style analysis, and that's what she is giving us in this video.
@@Anita-silverQuite frankly, I did not feel any anxiety in the voting booth, yesterday. I have my preferences, sure, but I'm pretty indifferent at the same time (indifferent may not be the correct term). It's whatever.
Lol you can love Trump and still think his style sucks. He used to dress well as a young man, but he doesn't know how to tailor his clothes for his current larger physique.

Holy crap if you hadn't told me her height I would have never guess she's that short! She does give a taller aura
The pic of the men politicians 😂😂😂😂
Yes it made me lol also 😂

Yah same, relaxing but adjacent to the core of today.
This was great and i dont think any of it was in bad taste. :)
I enjoyed this.

You have a relaxing voice. Hopefully that isn’t creepy to say 🤣

So well done!
Great post, as always. I loved your take on AOC.Can you do a post on how to soften all black outfits?
in india, a crisp silk or cotton saree really commands respect..of corse appropriate styling is everything...
Authoritative???!
Is this a political ad? 😊
Excellent info as per usual 👍
The "authoritative" colors didn't work, turns out.
thank you- i really appreciate your analysis on Kamala. this is especially helpful for professional women.

Thank you for your comment! I'd put her into Beveled-Soft (closest Kibbe is SN).
I think she dresses awkward. She never embraces feminine attire. Very beautiful woman though

Quiet everyone, the expert is speaking.
Former SanFrancisco mayor Willie Brown will tell you, Kamala knows how to put her head down and get to work. 🍆💦😛
Unsubscribed. Trump 2024 ❤ Kamala has boring style. Not inspiring at all.
Weird. To me this is an incredibly useful analysis. It’s not political.
Merriam did not state her political stance, this video is just focused on styling.
