Beautiful work and piece. Can't wait to begin working with soldering. I learned a lot, thank you, thank you, thank you ❤.
You are so welcome! And Thank You! I appreciate your interest & support! 🙏😊🩵
This is lovely and i learned so much! I have seen these cute little bits on soldered jewelry but this is the first time ive seen it demonstrated. Im so excited to try this. And thank you for such a complete and thorough tutorial. Very generous :)
Thank you kindly! I’m thrilled to hear you found my tutorial helpful! Good Luck with your future project! 🙏😊🩵
This was outstanding. I truly believe that this is something I can do. Love love ❤️
Thank you kindly! Yes, you can Do It! I appreciate your interest & support! 🙏😊🩵
Wow, I love it. I have been making dish pendants, sometimes using wrap wire on them. I had a job many years ago where I soldered. I'm going to try this on different stones. I am a new follower.
@@classicalgarden thank you kindly! I also started out wire wrapping and gradually moved into soft soldering. You’ll also see from my videos that I’ve begun learning silversmithing too! The one thing I would highly suggest is purchasing a high-quality soldering iron and I have a beginners video that will be helpful to understand what I went through and why having a high quality soldering iron is the way to go! Thank you so much for your interest and support! 🙏😊🩵
Thank you for this video so informative as a someone that really wants to work with this to make jewelry. Your work is beautiful by the way😍🤩
Ah thank you very much! I’m thrilled to hear that you found the video helpful! Best of luck with your journey! I’m happy to answer any questions that might come up! I appreciate your interest & support! 🙏😊🩵
My favorite piece so far. It looks like a romantic heart for Valentines Day. I am going to try to incorporate your method to my next piece. I'll show you on Instagram what i come up with. 🙂 Very informative video. Thanks for sharing such great tips.❤
Ah THANKS! Yes, you’re right it does resemble a heart 🩵
I can’t wait to see what you create! Thx for your continued support! 🙏😊🩵
You are so welcome! Your membership on the buy me a coffee sounds great!Thank you so much for the step by step on this piece. Fun just to see how you accomplished it and follow along.😊 It's such a pretty piece! The stone is beautiful, but amazing how those few charms, and a little decorative solder n wirework, really changed the feel of it. Beautiful work, Karen! 👍✨💖✨
Ah thx so much! I so appreciate the feedback on the process! I’m thrilled you enjoyed it! I use to worry about the tutorials being so long but it is what it is! I try to show as much as I feel will be helpful! 🙏😊🩵
@@karensintuitivejewelry Thank you. I don't mind long videos,... I just like learning. Watching the process is inspiring to me.😊👍💖
I can see why you describe your work as intuitive. As a rule, I incline towards more formal and stylised pieces, but I found myself captivated by the freshness and charm of your rustic heart. It really is quite lovely.
Ahh thank You! That’s so very kind of you to say! I really appreciate your interest & support! 🙏😊🩵
Karen thank u so much for the step by step video! I enjoyed it very much. I tried this awhile back and did a piece. Patted myself on the back and then promptly put it up and then forgot how to do it!😂 Your video has helped me remember the steps again but I’m going to hang onto it till I can get back in the shop and give it another go! I love your work! It’s very pretty and whimsical! And I love your no no sense way of teaching while demonstrating. Thanks again!
Thank you so very much for you wonderful comments! Feedback really helps me know what’s helping and/or ways to make it better! Whenever you get back to your project I’d love to see your creation(s) if you’d like to share with me! You can contact me through IM or even IG if you’re on either of those platforms! I really appreciate your interest & support! 🙏😊🩵
Very nice and informative tutorial.

Karen that is so stunning. I love it.. 💜🙏🏼🩷😃
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! 🙏😊🩵
It’s beautiful Karen! Great job!!!
Thank you kindly! I appreciate your support! 🙏😊🩵
Hemimorphite huh? Haven't heard that either!! It tricked me into thinking Larimar, both beautiful stones. I really like seeing the brief overview of some wires and solder, tools you use, because as you know, when starting out, every time you feel you're done purchasing you find 5 more things you "must have"... when you explained switching to tinned copper for example, that makes sense and I have thought the same, like sometimes I want a more uniform look to the metals, and I'm still working out ways to solder different metals. I love those little charms, I thought you'd done a sterling silver piece when I saw it in the thumbnail.
24:25 😢 I have a lumpy bumpy mess of a stained glass piece I got WAY to ambitious on😂 I'm scared to try to fix it, but that tip will help me attempt. I was scared when you had to re-do the bail. Came out perfectly though.
Thanks for showing the process/ thought process on a real beauty of a piece. I also recently learned I can zoom in on videos with my fingers!!!! Convenient when looking at instructional videos.
With the chain thing, I completely agree. I also feel people are so particular about chains. And since jewelry is already so personal, it just adds confusion and isn't worth the extra cost and effort.
Right? 😂 it’s crazy & blows my mind how many stones are still out there that I’ve never heard of! Amazing 🌎 we live on! Yup on accumulating more & more Stuff! It’s fun but honestly a lot of purchases over the years were not needed! And really didn’t help the way I hoped! I’m learning these days to return stuff if it’s not a good fit! I’m sure Amazon knows me on a first name basis 😂
The tinned wire tho? Awesome!!! I’m definitely a more streamlined artist & prefer “a clean look” which is difficult either soft soldering & why I LOVE hard soldering! Soft soldering is Fun & way way way easier but I hard to really adjust expectations! 🤣
Ohhh that makes me happy that it looks clean like a SS piece YAY! I seem to always try to mimic hard soldering in my designs 😜
I even did a “Faux Prong Setting” with the soft solder which I really liked! And another one that I thought resembled hard soldering was the “twisted wire frame”! Not a lot of soft solder artists are using those techniques!
Hmmm I’ll have to try to remember to try zooming in on a video! That’s very cool!
Thx again for becoming a member on BMC! I’m adding more perks for ya like a say in some designs so feel free to chime in! I appreciate you! 🙏😊🩵
I learned a lot , thanks ☺️.
I'm so glad! Thank you for your interest & support! 🙏😊🩵
Well, Karen I’m laughing looking at your concoction on how you set that little bugger up 😂😂😂 you pulled out a wooden clothes hanger lol 😆 but if that gets the job done, kudos to you … but I have to tell you this is gorgeous, you did a fabulous job ❤❤❤ big hugs 🤗, Michelle
Yup anything that works, right? Thank you very much! 🙏😊🩵
Hi Karen. So glad I found your yt! Subscribed and will be following you. I wondered about linking to Amazon myself. Ill be looking at your store since I struggle with trusting sources of stones after finding manmade ones listed as genuine. Your ideas about the basic business howtos are awesome. Once I get past some of the more intensive medical stuff I will try to gt a membership. Ive been in cancer treatment for 3 years and have to have surgery to repair the primary surgery and some kidney stone removal to save my remaining kidney. Im hoping that I can eventually make some money selling my works to supplement my SS. Right now I try to make every penny count as I gather the materials needed to get started. I appreciate that you share your gift with us.
Thank you so much for your interest and your support! To be honest, I’m still trying to figure out the Amazon store so if you have difficulty, it’s probably on my end not yours! 😂 I admit I’m not great with all this technology and it becomes a lot to learn all of the stuff that goes into being a TH-cam creator, but I’m having lots of fun and really enjoy interacting with my followers! I’m thrilled to hear that you are finding my videos, informative and helpful. I did also just send you a reply regarding where I purchase all of my gemstones with the link to their Facebook page and a brief explanation of how they run their business. I hope it makes sense. You can always reach out to me through instant messenger on Facebook too as I’d like to stay in touch with all of you guys and even see what creations you make!
I am so very sorry to hear of all of your health challenges and wish you the best with your upcoming treatments … sending healing prayers and healthy vibes! One of my closest friends was recently diagnosed with lung cancer, and in the last five months, it has gone from stage one to stage four. In fact, he just started palliative chemotherapy on Monday and they’ve only given him six months to survive. He designated me as his health surrogate so I’m preparing to have to support him over the next several weeks, months or however long he has left! He was actually my very first boyfriend and we were both 14 years old when we first met and have remained friends for about 55 years!
I look forward to when you start creating and I’m always happy to answer questions! Again, thanks for your support. 🙏😊💖
Absolutely stunning ❤

Ah thx so very much! I appreciate your interest & support! 🙏😊🩵
Precioso!❤
Thank you! I appreciate your support! 🙏😊🩵
Beautiful piece, love your teaching method, I wish you would have shown how u clean ur tip and re-tin it. Hopefully in your next video. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you kindly! I appreciate your interest & support! You’ll get tired of me reminding people to “clean your tip again” 😂😂😂 Tinning you’re tip is done at the end of any soldering session before shutting your iron off & is simply cleaning your tip first in a brass wire, damp sponge or even tip cleaner & picking up some clean solder to coat your tip before shutting power off! Keeping your tip clean throughout your project is the key to a lasting functional tip! I’ve had the same tip for about 1 1/2 years currently! 🙏😊🩵

Thank so much, I’m a first time viewer and it looks like fun. Your piece is so beautiful I learnt so much. I learnt to make glass beads and doing bead work and wire designs, who knows maybe I will eventually learn this craft too, I already own a soddering tool or how ever you spell it. Thank you again 🙏🏼💖
Excellent! Thank You! I appreciate your comments & support! You definitely should give it a try! I just made a new tutorial for Beginners if you’re interested! 🙏😊🩵

Excellent! I’m thrilled that you found my channel! I appreciate your interest & support! 🙏😊🩵
Ty so much! I just found you & am learning for now! I will be starting with I think it’s technically hard soldering but I’m intrigued by this soft soldering too! I have some supplies already on the way for the other kind of soldering & so when I switch over to try this type I feel like I already know which tools to start with! You’re amazing!!! Your jewelry is so gorgeous!!!
Thank you so very much for your interest & support! I also do hard soldering either a torch too! I’m still very new to it & have several tutorials on this craft too if you’d like to check those out as well! 🙏😊💖

Love this Karen.I feel your pain when soldering a bail on a piece. Beautiful piece🌷🌸
Thx very much! I’ve been practicing so it’s getting a little easier now but MAN 🤣
Have you tried the green floral foam? I’ve heard it works well but make sure to get the Wet/Dry foam to keep it damp! I’m definitely going to try it! Marking the spot with a sharpie has helped too! Thx so much for your support! 🙏😊🩵
@@karensintuitivejewelry no, Do you mean to hold a piece in place while soldering a bail?
If so I am buying some TODAY😅
@@karensintuitivejewelry great, thanks for sharing the tips, love the foam idea,I will be heading to Hobby Lobby for sure🌻😊🌻
@@thecreativeitalian7611yes for holding the piece in place. I’ve seen artists lay the piece flat pressing it down into the foam a little & then doing the same with the bail/jump ring! Looks very helpful!
I love your work

Wow really great vid, i personally enjoy what you call call mumble because you are actually walking me through every little step.. for someone like myself who has never seen any jewelry saudering in my life needs all the tips and help i can get.
I thought I saw a few shakes which gives me hope i might be able to try doing this, i have neuropathy in my hands and feet which cause shakes, according to my doctor .
I must go check out your other vids. 😊
Glad you enjoyed & that you don’t mind by ramblings! 🤣🤪😂 I try to share the good, the bad & the ugly because most things are never as easy as they look! I wish you much success as you start this journey even with your challenges! If I can do it…You can too! I appreciate your interest & support! 🙏😊🩵
Karen you do pretty work. The tip of your soldering iron is intended for use on electronics. You need a tip that is heavier duty with a beveled tip. This will give you smoother results,. You also need to investigate how to keep your tip cleaned and tinned. This will help you get better results.
Thx very much! My preferred tip is this medium chisel tip which is one step down from the full size chisel which allows me to pick up smaller amounts of solder for finer detail work! I am religious about keeping my tips cleaned & preach this in all my tutorials…it’s the MOST important step for the life of your tips! This tip is well over a year old & in great operating condition!
I appreciate your interest & support! 😊
Very nice Jewelery Karen.I appreciate all the color you bring to your pieces! My girlfriend does also and I hope I can win some on your next drawing!!
Thank you kindly! I appreciate your interest and support. I’ll probably be doing the next giveaway in three months so keep a lookout. 🙏😊💖
It's SO pretty!

So talented!! Would love to learn this but honestly it scares me. Love watching you, you r so good at this n a good teacher!!!
✌🏼🩵
Ah thx! That’s sweet of you to say! I was scared too & why it took me so long to finally give it a try! I quickly realized that with proper care & precautions this craft isn’t scary at all! NOW working with a big torch is still scary to me but I’m gaining confidence with that too! Start slow! Be brave! I’ll be making a Beginners pendant very soon so check it out! Thx so much for your interest & support! 🙏😊🩵
Thank you I did learn. This is beautiful!

I loooove your woooork
Thank you kindly! 🙏😊💖
Beautiful piece. Loved the results. Can you tell me are the solder designs ok to wear against the skin with regard to allergies. Loved the whole process and especially love gemstones. I work a lot with them x
Thank you kindly! Yes, the soft solder is the highest ranking “jewelry grade, lead-free soft solder” on the market called Silvergleem! However, as a disclaimer for those who may have allergies to other metals…sensitivity is possible! I have never had a problem myself not have any of my customers reported issues! I do seal my pieces with the best jewelry sealant on the market as well for added protection & that product is ProtectaClear! Thank you so much for your interest & support! 🙏😊🩵
I love this..absolutely beautiful. Where did you get the tiny charms? What kind of metal are they made of?
Thank you kindly! I’ve collected charms & other findings over the years from so many different sources but I believe I purchased these mini flowers at a specialty boutique that had some random jewelry supplies! When searching include the word “mini”. Etsy usually has a good selection! I appreciate your interest & support! 🙏😊🩵
I'm enjoying the video bit you keep saying how important it is to keep your tip clean? How are you keeping it clean?
I use the standard brass wire & clean the tip every single time it’s been placed in it’s holder before I pick up new solder! It will most definitely prolong the life of your tip!
Thx for your interest & support!

Wonderful and very instructive video. I love your project. What size is the tip on your soldering iron and what brand. Thank you
Thank you kindly! I use the Hakko 601-FX & the tip is a medium chisel! I appreciate your interest & support! 🙏😊🩵
@karensintuitivejewelry Why do you start with copper when you want it to look like silver? Why not start with either silver, or if that is to expensive,or to hard to work with, why not use a white metal? Love your work by the way.
You HAVE to use the copper foil tape with this technique when soldering anything other than certain metals. Soft solder will only adhere to those certain metals and that is what the “copper“ foil tape mimics, allowing the solder to actually adhere to the pieces that have the copper foil tape on them. I’m wondering if you might be confusing the Tiffany Method soft soldering technique with actual silversmithing or metalsmithing techniques? These are two completely different types of mediums! I appreciate your interest and support! 🙏😊
hon i clean my needlenose pliers with coke and sos pads and they shine new!!
H I Karen thank you for your great tutorials. I was just wondering about the flux brush....are the bristles natural or synthetic material? :)
Thank you kindly! I appreciate your interest & support! The brushes are the disposable kind you can get at the hardware store so I’m sure they’re synthetic! I just cut the bristles down to about 1/2 the original length for better application & less waste of product! 🙏😊🩵
@@karensintuitivejewelry ahhhh thats a great idea. Ok I will have a look around. :)
I have a regular stain glass solder iron. Will it work or do I need to buy one like yours. I found one on ebay like this. Hakko FX600-05/P Adjustable Temperature Control Solder Iron 120VAC/74W
Any soldering iron will work for the initial layer of solder, but to build layers, which is what we do in the Tiffany method you will need a soldering iron that can sustain high temperatures for longer periods of time. I made a video about my personal experience of trying a total of 7 different soldering irons to test this theory. I’ll put the link below. In my personal opinion it’s best to get either the Hakko FX601-02 or a Weller 100 watt. I appreciate your interest and support of my channel!

What brand of tape do you recommend? I have purchased one off Amazon and I have tried from hobby lobby and both left a lot of gummy residue and didn't stick much at all once I applied heat 😭
My favorite is this 3/8” tape from Amazon

❤❤
Is the solder wire lead-free?
Yes. Silvergleem Lead-free jewelry grade soft solder
I love all the extra beaded silver balls you added… But I just started watching your channel. So maybe you have a tutorial just about adding decorative silver beaded balls… it could even just be a tutorial using your wire and your copper without any stones just to show the process. That’s just an idea. I haven’t worked with soft solder that much. or actually, I should say it’s been a while since I’ve worked with soft solder, but even then I didn’t realize how decorative you could actually get with your pieces… I used China that I bought at resale shops, and I broke the China but I made them into small hearts. But they were very boring looking. Ugh 😩 Michelle
Thx so much! I think I have showed how to do decorative balls in a couple videos but maybe I’ll do a short tutorial just on that! Thx for the suggestion! I also make broken china pieces & made a tutorial a while back if you’re interested!🙏😊🩵
@@karensintuitivejewelry I will definitely go check out your china video
Que clase de. estaño usas. Se ve muy plateado
I used Silvergleem lead-free soft solder on this piece! This is the only brand that contains a VERY small amount of silver. All the other brands don’t contain any silver content!
Gracias Karen
Why do you need liquid flux?
I prefer the liquid flux over the paste/gel flux because there’s zero greasiness & minimal fumes or smoke!
