  • This is Eisenstein's classic scene from his last silent film, "General Line", about an early Russian Dairy Cooperative. This is the scene in which the cooperative uses a cream separator for the first time to make butter. I have been commissioned by Grapevine Video to compose a score for this film, and I have chosen a minimalist style. In this scene, I use mallets predominately in a fugue to demonstrate the machinations of the device, increasing in excitement and intensity until the end.

I should not have watched this so late at night. My mind kept asking me was this dairy porn or am I just feeling creamy?

I really liked your piece. It went so well with the film it belongs in it. I guess back then, they played something live during the showing?

yeah, either a piano, organ, or orchestra of various sizes. Sometimes written to fit the scene, often just songs that vaguely matched mood. And thank you so much for the compliment!

Onedetails is missing: all separators were made in Denmark. Russian received the shipment but never respected the contact and paid a fraction of cost, only.

OMG this whole thing looks like a bukakke scene and No one can convince me that wasn’t the director’s intent from the very beginning

All that he made was way more advanced than what any of his contemoraries even dared to produce. The ten first minutes of "Ivan the Terrible" could well be Putins main inspiration for his invation of Ukraine. When will we ever know?
