I'm formerly homeless, and I know a great deal of currently or formerly homeless people. Greater than 99% of us find the word "homeless" quite appropriate. It's accurate and inoffensive. I do, however, get dismayed when people act like it's a dirty word that needs to be replaced by a synonym or euphemism.
comedians have this beautiful knack for getting into collective flow with others that always seems to both enhance *and exemplify* John's work this is my favourite appearance of his in some time, so much genuine dialogos from start to end! bravo gents, i would watch many more hours of you two together 🙏💕
I thought my TH-cam feeds got crossed - just watched Pete on Whisky Ginger and I’m a long time Vervaeke follower but never thought they would be together on a pod! This is awesome… comedy and meaning! Let’s Go!
Philosophers and comedians are fluent language pros, teaming up is so great and "you made it weird" as the most convincing and succint (?) way to tell about the world!
24:10 transformation. What Dr. Vervaeke says here about there being no final form to Life is spot on. I recommend my friend Sam’s recent talk with Father John Behr on his recent translation of a St. Gregory of Nyssa work “On the Human Image of God”.
Pete, I'm so glad you mentioned the experience your wife had with psychedelics, the same thing happened to me right at the start of covid. It took a couple years to find myself again but I'm doing much better now and I hope your wife is too! They can help or hurt depending on those 4 S's. Peace
Pete gos to heaven, but is stopped at the gate…. a table with a chicken and an egg is presented…. Pete says come on man I’m a comedian not a philosopher. God says, geeze that’s why I made the chicken rubber.
Isn't Neo-platonism, particularly in Plotinus basically an attempt to integrate Christian ideas into Platonism in order to compete with the rise of Christianity? (it is). So the Matrix making Neo a Christ figure is ironically fitting.
Hey, Pete! Thanks for visiting Raleigh. You're my friends and I's favorite stand up and we loved the show. Please come back and see us again! Maybe we will have worked out our mic issues by the next visit.
I was there too! Pete had a phenomenal set, and his opener was really good. Best comedy show I've been to in a long time. Come back to Raleigh soon Pete! 7:00 pm Sunday mafia

I find this talk interesting, as I am a semi-discipline of Ajahn Martin (a German monk living within Thai monasteries). Why? "You are all interested in coconut water, not meditation". Staged? I don't know. Best meditation there is.

This was a wicked and brilliant converastion! Humour and Wisdom in full swing!
This was a great massage for the brain. I wish podcasts could have footnotes though for all these esoteric concepts lol

What an amazing conversation. Thank you John and Pete❤
Awakening From The Meaning Crisis on TH-cam is a wild 50 hours of a young professor just begging you to learn.
😂
this series changed my life. a prolific sage.
I'm currently mad at Dr. Vervaeke right now, but I will listen for you, even though I dont know you at all and barely trust you.
I'm curious why exactly?
What an amazing conversation, make it 4 hours next time. 😀❤️🚀
id pay 30 a month for weekly episodes of this combo
2:00:13 legit. I said this exact phrase about three years ago to Jonathan Pageau.
Henosis by kenosis.
Pete, what the hell is this minute-long question at 8:28? 😅😂

Great guest. Pete is so exhausting though haha. So many woo woo meandering qualifications.
Oh wow
Fancy seeing you here

Vervaeke : Flemish -Belgian name pronounced Ver-vaa-ke ( not 'key' at the end , but a very short e )
He pronounced John’s last name the way he pronounces it himself.
@@danchiappe I know. He's ' Americanised ' , just like his name , of course. Just providing info about the original.
It's pronounced with the Key
@@Mart-Bro Not the original.
@@guntertorfs6486it seems like you are confused about how names work
Great podcast. Horrible guests. Too high of intellect amidst general despair. Thank you, Mr. Letterman.

These two guys have the same voice 😂
