The way i gauge how long ive been watching magnus vids is how he used to sheepishly say, "i should warm up but i dont" transitioned to "i warm up a little bit", into "if i dont warm up for 30 mins i'm going to injure myself"
Honestly though that shits so real lmao; just getting older in realtime alongside him ;-; When I first started watching him I wasnt warming up much, now I'm nearly 30 and my body is like begging me to warmup

Often people can make either really easy or really hard clients but making that in between is often hard for them. Also another thing about setting as the roots that you set have to be safe. This gets more involved when setting lead climbs

Man, the hold falling off was comedy gold! Just wished they hadn't showed it before. It was hilarious still, but would've been even better if it was completely unexpected.
I know this was for show, but it's also one reason I am hesitant on some holds. There is multiple different type of screws, for multiple different type of applications, and only 2 correct ways to install them: With a torque wrench or torque stick. And I have never seen anyone route get set with either; to be fair, I havent seen that many gyms.
@@MR-MR-ud5oo I pulled out a hold that dozens of people had done no problem. It was a small crimpy one at the start of a climb and I think my lack of technique meant I put all my body weight into it. Gave me a great excuse for failing the climb!

Setting up the climbing is such a cool idea. You could make it a whole series where you would compete against other climbers over who would do the more difficult route. Let's say you'd both have the same start and finish and have to set up the route in between, with both of you having the same blocks to use. First, you would have to climb your route, then your opponent would have to do the same, and scoring would be based on the difference in approaches. I would watch it like crazy.
Magnus is one of the best things that has happened to the climbing industry (at least from my personal experience most people who are climbing beginners that i know know magnus and no other climber 😁)
The ball catching reminds me of when Magnus was on that random game show and crushed every challenge but had much difficulty throwing the ball at the targets
This is a really cool video, I've never seen or even considered that people actually have to build the routes in these gyms but its a pretty neat process. Being able to build routes for specific classes truly shows an in-depth understanding of the sport. I use to rock climb with my dad a a really young age and I've always thought I was better at it than the average person because of this, though its probably more attributed to my lightweight and long limbs.
The reactiontime thing is interesting. I think we gamers do have a good reaction time but its all training, so we may got good reactiontime in our fingers and in klicking but a physical action like moving an arm requires like ludwig said a diffrent thought. Great collab and hyped to see more!
