  • I randomly found this and it was SUCH a SURPRISE. JYP with rock sound... wow. The vocals were so intimate and lovely. I think I will find out more about them. Very good.

It's funny you say it's a rock sound when they are a rock band! There are six members but one was unable to film for the MV due to health reasons. He's all better now though! We are called Villains, and thank you for supporting our Heroes!! The one you mentioned using his head voice is Jungsu, one of the main vocalists, and his voice is angelic!! Such a unique sound and I love his voice ❤️❤️

Xdinary Heroes is a boy band under JYPEntertainment so this is why their sound is more rock oriented.

The original version of this song was poem made by their leader/drummer gunil (the one with a camera) he wrote it whilst studying in Boston berklee uni and it was a poem about a love that couldn’t be whilst looking at the sea at dawn that’s why it’s in English. He with the help of members made it into a song :))

Xdinary Heroes are more known because of their rockish/punk sound, but its undeniable that their voices and instrumentation is always superb. I would totally recommend 'knock down' live clip or their cover of 'impossible' by nothing but thieves. They really shine

They are an actual band like Day6 from JYP. In this video one of the members is missing becuase he had a hurt hand when they filmed this video and was recovering. Their are 6 members, and each of them play instruments. They also have amazing vocals, and some amazing covers. I recommend their song Strawberry Cake (or really any of their songs) and their covers as well. My favorite covers that they have done so far are their Hellivator and Impossible song covers!

XH has a rock/punk rhythm and is balladed together with Dear H. It impressed their fans a lot because it is very emotional. If you want to hear his true sound I recommend Strawberry Cake, Happy Death Day and freaking bad his latest comeback

This is a B-side that YoungK from Day 6 helped write based on a experience the Drummer/ leader had at college they have 2 ballads this one and Dear H both on the 3 Rd mini album Deadlock which has not long released usually do pop punk rock music

They are GREAT live you should check out their live preformances and their covers they have the best covers in K-pop in my opinion they always add something of their own like their punk rock style or they add korean lines to their non K-pop covers. I would recommend their Freakin’ bad MV, Strawberry cake MV, their tomboy cover, their hellevator cover (my favorite cuz I’m a stay), drown cover and impossible cover (the covers are also all live) and every live preformance of them is good.

They're such a talented band! And an actual band, little brothers to Day6 though their sound (with the exception of this and another ballad on their latest album) is much more rock and punk focused with a good dose of that Stray Kids controlled chaos and lots of ear candy moments throughout their songs. YoungK from Day6 actually helped the XH drummer Gunil (oldest, leader, moved to the states in middle school and actually went to Berklee College of Music for drumming, in the video the one w/ the camera by the trains) with the lyrics for this song, it's based on a poem Gunil wrote in college about a broken heart.
The vocals you commented on are mainly Jooyeon (bassist and maknae, the one on the motorcycle in the video) and Jungsu (keyboardist, on the basketball court). They're both insane powerhouses, though I personally gravitate towards Jooyeon's more rock-leaning tone and vibrato. The other keyboardist O.de (phone booth screamer) and guitarist Gaon (falling asleep at desk with a random plant?) are the rappers and also have lovely singing voices, I'm particularly fond of Gaon's lower register and warmth. Gunil also sings, though bc it's hard to sing and drum at the same time we don't get to hear his voice very often. They actually have a 6th member, Jun Han, who is a guitarist and the only one who doesn't really sing except for some harmonies and effects like whispers, though if there's a guitar solo in any song it's him. Sadly he got a really bad stomach bug right at the start of this latest comeback so he couldn't make it to the filming for this mv. Thankfully he's feeling better and rejoined their schedule last week. They've got another ballad on this album called Dear H that Jun Han wrote, the mv for that is due to be released on 5/15 so hopefully he was able to make it into that one.
This is from their 3rd album Deadlock which just released a couple weeks ago. Title track is Freakin Bad, totally different vibe but it's a super fun boppy pop rock song that I guarantee will be stuck in your head for days and has distinct 80s hair metal influences. My favorite besides Good Enough is probably Man In The Box, the industrial grungy sort of feel is just very nostalgic to me.
Their debut track Happy Death Day is a single that's totally different from anything else out there in kpop and such a gutsy sound to start with. Their first album Hello World (title track Test Me) is a total no-skip. The b side Strawberry Cake has vocals that will totally blow you away and I'd recommend checking out a live version. 2nd album Overload gets a little more experimental, the title track Hair Cut is kind of divisive but I personally love it so much and it's another no-skip for me.
Fandom name is Villains, which I think is such a badass fandom name even though I don't really get into fan culture that deep lol. They also have quite a few covers both on their channel and that they've done on variety shows you should check out if you want some non-album content. Their cover of Gidle's Tomboy goes so hard and is legit the best kpop cover I've ever heard. They've been on Immortal Songs twice, sadly didn't take home a trophy either time (bc imo that show favors soloists a bit too much, but I"m also biased lol) but both of their performances were soooo good.

random video to comment but i just binged a few of your videos (mainly seventeen) and subscribed! your insight is very much appreciated, i’m glad you’re sharing your reactions with us.
if i were to make a recommendation when it comes to k-bands, i’d say Onewe is one of the best out there, they have an amazing sound and vocalists and they write and produce every single thing they put out, i’m not sure if you enjoy more of a rock sound or vocal ballads but they got both!! super emotional and beautiful lyrics and also heavier songs. i’m a huge fan and if you ever get the time it’d be awesome to see what you think

This song is actually based on a poem that the drummer Gunil wrote while he was in college! I believe that young k from day6 also helped with this song

I was so suprprisedly glad you found them, i've been a big fan of their music, and it was great to see how many more kbands are growing in the korean music industry. If you want to hear more groups with amazing voices and sounds you should check out Onewe, N.flying and day6 (this last kband is from jyp too)

They just dropped a live version of their song dear h which is also incredibly beautiful and shows a softer side of them like good enough does. The entirety of their new album deadlock is fantastic but I think good enough and dear h have to be my absolute favorites

They're actually a pop-rock band, Idol band. It's JYPE's second band, and 'Good Enough' is the most different song in XHEROES' discography. It's a rock ballad, and they usually work with energetic songs, with youth vibes, always bringing different themes. It's already my favourite, regardless the fact that my favourite member doesn't has any lines for this one (Gunil, the baterist, he's one of the composers of the song); and Junhan (guitarist) as well. They only did harmonizations, but they did great as well! 💞

If you like them, please react to Day6. They are the first JYP band group. They write their own songs play instruments. “Congratulations” is their debut song in 2015 and their one of the most popular songs are “you were beautiful” and “Time of our life.” They also have some solo stuffs. For now, 2 of the members are in the army and 2 of them recently discharged from the army. I just love them u should definitely check out them
