    I've only ever done a couple of PAB wall shops, and first was during the restrictions. Because you couldn't fil your own cup, they were doing you an extra scoop per cup you bought. The people filling my cup were awesome, told me I should save the biggest parts for my extra scoop and gave me about 8 8x8 plates for each extra scoop!!!! That was a bargain!! I went to London this week and now they let you do your own, so no extra scoop. As I bought small parts each time, the extra scoop was a real bargain. But it wasn't going to last forever :) Anyways, at least I can spend ages picking my own stuff now.

  • @-Sangral-
    @-Sangral- 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    With the extra bricks they give you (One big shovel full extra directly into the paper bag, sometimes even slightly more if they're in a good mood), it's absolutely worth it and better than ever before actually. I bought some cups for myself in the last few months and at least for me, in my Country, they even give you slightly more than you could ever stack for yourself in one of these cups. At worst, it's exactly the possible amount of what you could stack into, minus all the time you would need for it, so it's a huge win. I wish this would be the new standard and I hope it will take a long time till they open it up again for self stacking, cause my experience so far was incredibly positive.
    Also, watched half the video so far but I noticed, you also have to pay shipping each time with Bricklink so that comes on top of it.

    In US by me we pick our own and just use tongs/scoop and sanitizer before after. I’m a massive PAB fan, just wish my store had a bit more diversity especially with smaller parts. Large parts are more difficult to mass using PAB. Usually sneak those in middle surrounding with smaller parts

    Went on my first trip to a LEGO store yesterday and was the one in Leicester Square in London, which I hear is the biggest. It was amazing and so helpful, managed to get the last couple of figures from series 21, plus did Pick a Brick and the minifigure one too. Not sure how picking a minifigure differed before Covid, but the Pick a Brick wall was great as a first time experience, although a bit overwhelming! Takes a while though with having to say what you want, but filled the cup well and she was determined to get in as much as possible 😊 plus the extra bag of bricks was nice!

    Great video! Very interesting, actually. Nice to know about the values of the different sites. How long did it take you to do the video?! One last thing, could you possibly pick up some “Make your Own Minifigures” when you go to the store, and work out values with them too?

    I pretty much do this for my PAB cups by creating a parts list on rebrickable.com (PRO PLAN) for each PAB cup. This allows me to create an inventory of all of my parts (not in sets). Also shows the approx current worth of the parts in the list/all parts and so much more. The PAB cup in store is about $15.99 US +tax. The assessed value of the PAB has never been less than that (even when brick specialists do "SAB" scoop-a-brick.

    • @BricknIt
      @BricknIt  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah the PAB cups are such good value when you find parts you want, definitely makes me want to visit the Lego store more often to see what they have in stock! Can't wait until we can visit again in the UK!

  • @brickyty1980

    I don't know why they don't supply disposable gloves so you can pick them yourself? Even if they charged 5p per pair, part of the fun is picking it yourself. PAB is great for some parts, depends what's on the wall at the time as it's only the parts Lego don't want and trying to make a few pennies back. But is worth it if you do a big haul. Great video once again, keep up the great work.

    • @BricknIt
      @BricknIt  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks buddy! I think it's easier for them to control what happens if they pick for you. Hopefully it'll go back to being able to pick yourselves in the future. In the Manchester store they said they'd used the time during Covid to give the wall a clear out of some of the smaller parts they had hanging around and had ordered in a big selection!

    • @BricknIt
      @BricknIt  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah the online PAB is taking ages at the moment as it's harder for them to pick the parts with all the precautions. It took a good few weeks for my parts to arrive when I did it. Hopefully yours will arrive soon.

    The PAB wall is way too random. Really unless it has pieces you want or need ‘right now’ it’s too hard to get great value out of it. Not that LEGO PAB online is any better at full retail, at least you can get the pieces you want, seems like you got a few good deals though. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    • @BricknIt
      @BricknIt  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah we stuck to pieces we could see that we would use. To be honest I was impressed, all of our cups worked out significantly cheaper that we could have got the parts on Bricklink or PAB online so I was pleased. I'll supplement these with specific bricks from Bricklink but this will get me a long way for cheaper!

  • @maxclark8150
    @maxclark8150 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Hi Chris, I’ve found the same kind of value applies with LEGO Store PAB cups in the UK and (slightly more expensive) in Europe (see haul videos on my channel) prior to COVID. So I don’t think we’re losing out on too much value by the LEGO employee filling the cups - just missing out on the fun.
    They look like some useful parts - especially the tiles - which store did you go to?

      Brick’n It yeah that is one of my reasons for this statement, Most of the times the bricks and pieces that are available aren’t the best pieces for mocs or building so that is also why I think it isn’t worth it, anyway thanks for the advice and I wish you a good evening.
