- Explore the evolution of the pick a brick system from Lego store. Where we will be comparing the old pick a brick cup compared to the new pick a brick box? Could this be the downfall to the iconic cup We have always loved? #legos #funny #lol #legostarwars #foryou #legocontent #pickabrick #legocollectors #legocollection #gotbricks #lego #starwars #legoaddict #foryoupage #pickabrick #legocollector
so the studs prove that the box is the same volume as the cup, but obviously more efficient to stack blocks in a box than a cylinder. cool!
That’s what I conclude to!
I can totally imagine using the new boxes for storage as well, they are much more space efficient! Also cutting the lid off and having them as trays in a drawer. As long as it doesn't have too many crack and flaps on the inside where small pieces can get stuck.
I was considering something like this!
I once used lego cup for emergency, when I had to go number 1 in car. I was stuck in traffic jam for hours and if I didnt have lego cup I would have soiled myself or car probably.
🤣🤣🤣 the trick to this situation is to open one of your doors and pee on the ground using the door and vehicle as cover
I think the benefits outweigh the negatives just because I already have to many of the plastic cups.
I agree I’m fairly happy with the new boxes
Very helpful analysis. Thanks for taking the time to do this!
No problem thanks for watching!
It's really ironic how Lego is removing all plastic when the brand is all plastic
Yeah, but the cups are disposable plastic while the bricks are fairly reusable and durable. Plus the lighter weight uses less fuel to transport.
Fair enough haha but guess it helps where it can 😅
Love the vids!!
So far, I have no use for cups that are round and not very easy to reach in for parts. The boxes don't survive for long in my household, but having quite a bit more in it is worthwhile and it is much easier to stack them.
I typically dump my parts out into a larger box to find parts or work with them easier
@@blackwell_bricks That works, I prefer a large surface, usually a table. The foor has a downside of being generally more dirty and doesn't allow you to shove all the leftover bricks into containers when you're done, but I've certainly done a lot of building on the floor when I was young, probably more than any other place.
I really disliked the old cups because they were so inefficient and I couldn't find a use for them after so had to throw them away (I would never think of having it on me when at the Lego store, and since it's a long ride away, I can't just quickly go get it). I finally got a new box and felt I could both more easily fill it and have fun with optimizing the space (stuff kept shifting in the cups), and could just throw them away in paper without any guilt afterwards (the cups were truly a waste in that manner). (Also, here I don't think they let you overflow the cups, while they are now actively telling you they have tape for the boxes, so there's easily more overflow possible for my situation) Also, when you're getting multiple, these boxes also stack more easily into your backpack or something.
For me, this is just a win on all fronts.
That’s how I feel as well now that I have enough for my storage solution of the cups!
"lid has to 'click' " discussion came up so much in our store, no stickers or jimmywrenching it on, now it's lid has to remain shut with no external help keeping it down on the cardboard ones. it differs store to store but some poeple get so mad, seen people scream at the staff over a couple bricks. be kind to the staff theyll always do their best to help. great video man, glad to see the community helping fellow builders.
Really like this comment! But I agree I’ve learned even in situations like that people are simply just doing their job but obviously with Lego your dealing with kids along with occasionally immature people but just using the golden rule and knowing how to speak to people goes a long ways 😄 and thank you for the kind words!
Subbed, commented and liked. You get the YT trifectalistic interaction. See you at 100k subs!
Thanks for the support and encouragement! Consider yourself a OG on the TH-cam community!
I have a ton of plastic cups so I’m happy with the boxes. Plus you obviously get more.
Yup ! Haha
Great quality video man, soon you'll hit 1 thousand followers, keep it up
3/4 of the way there!!!!
Great video, keep up the work my dude
Thank you! Hopefully a lot more to come once the studio is able to moved into!
why do you only put the singular word you're saying on the screen at a time. it is one of the most obnoxious things to try and watch and not helpful in the slightest for anyone who actually needs subtitles.
stop it, get some help.
You don’t have to be here👍
