- This is a comparison between East Lothian in Scotland and Thailand, the house the beaches and the scenery.
Apologies for the shaky last part of the video, I was trying out the new Blackmagic camera app and I didn't realise that there was no stabilization on it.

Watching from East Lothian Mate...
Where about in Thailand is yer Gaf..?
HI, Thanks for watching, yes built just over a year ago, it's north east Thailand, near a city called Nakhon Phanom.
Absolutely fantastic mate, loved your video on the comparison between the two and there really is none really.. lol
I’ll be following you for sure and see how you go.
My build starts early next month in Buriram and we are looking forward to it. Happy trails bud.
Thanks for watching, yea no comparison really hehe. Should be starting in October.
Good luck with your build, try not getting too stressed hehe.
Hi there, watching from Midlothian and really enjoyed the video! It was interesting to see the comparison between your property in East Lothian (including that not-so-great beach!) and the one in the Mekong region. You definitely get a lot more for your money over there, but after looking into it, Mekong does feel quite remote, almost like you're in the middle of nowhere. I also checked property prices in Bangkok, and wow, what a difference-Bangkok is a whole lot more expensive! So while you’re right about the value in some parts of Thailand, it's not the same story everywhere. Keep up the great work!
Hi thanks for watching, yea can be remote, Bangkok and Pattaya can be expensive to buy property but I wouldnt want to live their, they are far to crowded, good for a weekend visit. The main differences are the cost of living, if you buy a condo you pay a maintenance fee, ussualy about 3 or 4 hundred a year but that's for the pool, the gym, the car parking, security and communal lighting, so a better deal than council tax in the UK, the weather is a big contributing factor, I know this summer in the UK has been awful too. It's not for everyone but it's a great place to retire.
@@LIFEbytheMEKONG yea the weather and warmth will make a big difference on the aches and pains as we get older 😂 I’ve been looking at buying a property in East Lothian, house prices are getting way out of control now
Good to see ya back paul
Thanks, its good to be back.
Hi Paul,
Now, Come on, Scotland isn't that bad.😀 Yeah, we have so much here in Thailand. Why would we really want to stay in that dark, dreary place? Love your videos, especially the ones on the recipes that give us that little bit of home, and really looking forward to your builds on the property, I am sure you will get a lot of feedback from experienced of people who have already taken on such projects. Can you help? My missus does a lot of travel here in Thailand and overseas; those little tours they do from Thailand? I want to put it into the video and post it, but I am unsure what program to use and what resources to prop up the content. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi thanks for watching, I'm not sure what you mean about tours they do etc, if you tell me more I may be able 19:03 to help you, Scotland is pretty bad mate the prices, taxes etc, you pay more and get less, BT was a nightmare, easy to setup, almost impossible to cancel, I spent probably 4 hours in total trying to cancel my contract, even now after canceling they still take money out my account, sorted now but taken 3 months, when you get a little upset with them on the phone they hang up on you, they make you out to be the bad one after stealing from your account, council tax factor fees because council don't look after area, bins 3 weekly extra charges now to empty garden waste bins it's getting beyond a joke, anyway it's done now hehe.
Ah I think you are on about video editing, if so, and you have a mac m series or a good PC the best is davinci resolve, it's free and lots of tutorials on here, Mr Alex tech is good.there is a realy good American who was a special effect guy in Hillywood, he is friends with Mr Alex tech.
@@LIFEbytheMEKONG playing about with resolve, thats easy to work on, I can manage using that one, now to design some intros etc.
Brilliant vid,
Hi, thanks, and thanks for watching.
Thailand and the property look amazing. But do they have haggis, tatty scones and Still Game?
Hi, thanks for watching, tattie scones I make still game on netflix, and haggis yes but grants in a tin.
How long are you around for mate?
I'm back in Thailand now bud. I'll try and catch up next time we are in the UK.
So what's your honest opinion, do you prefer Thailand or Scotland?
Hi thanks for watching and comment, oh without a doubt Thailand, I know hate is a strong word but I am really growing to hate the UK and everything it stands for, people in the UK are just constantly paying tax upon tax upon tax and getting less and less for it.
Yeah that weathers a joke, Im from NI but in Spain now. Much better all round but want to visit SEA soon.
Be carefull, you might not leave hehe
Night and day difference!! A "no brainer" choice to live in Thailand!!
Absolutely
Pattaya beach water "crystal clear"...😂
It was during covid, not so much now but that's why I mentioned all the islands and if you go to koh Larne it is crystal clear. Sorry if I didn't make that clear.
@@LIFEbytheMEKONG Not even the island of Koh Larn has crystal clear water. Koh Lipe island have, but it is in a different sea.
