Despite end of NHR rent is not going down. The issue is the burocracy and the fact that tenants who don't pay rent cannot be easily taken out. This scares landlords that prefare not to rent the property and try to sell. The country is too disorganized.

Question: Will independent product developers (i.e. inventors of physical products for use in homes, medical facilities, etc.) qualify through the research and development category?

Eligibility for the research and development category depends on the nature of your work and its alignment with recognised R&D activities. Independent product developers may qualify if their work is innovative and contributes to advancements in fields like healthcare, technology, or design. However, there are specific criteria to meet, such as professional qualifications, the innovative nature of the work, and possibly partnerships with qualifying entities. To better assess your situation and guide you through the application process, we recommend planning a call with one of our advisors. You can register at www.tytle.io to schedule a consultation!

To apply for Portugal's NHR 2.0, you'll need to be a new Portuguese tax resident and have some documents like proof of residence (e.g., rental contract or property deed). You'll also need to register as a tax resident with the local authorities. Once you're registered, you can submit your NHR application to the tax authorities within the required time frame. If you need any help, you can book a call with one of our trusted advisors at www.tytle.io
