I post this in case it helps someone. Had the same problem (MISFIRE P030x). I changed my throttle body, then tried my plugs, then tried my ignition coils, all of it costing me around $300 in parts only to find out that it was my Crankshaft Position Sensor at the transmission. A $20 part! This rough idle, misfire code can be a tricky one! Try the cheap stuff first my friends.
Thanks for the tip. Still having random misfires and rough running still after new plugs, injectors, map sensor. Not as bad, but still there. Funny, after I changed the map it ran a lot better, but it wasn't the root issue and when I had the codes ran again immediately after changing the map, the only code that came up was the map, but it went away after a few starts. It's like the computer didn't know it was bad to begin with...smh. I will keep the crank sensor in mind, gonna try the coil tests first.
2007 dodge caliber is having the same issue. i don replaced it all including the C.P.S but it wont learn to the cars computer so its still having the misfire. its gonna cost about 200 to fix that and no guerentee its the main issue. Think i should try it? if it dont work this dodge is going to the junk yard probably where it belongs.
Have the same problem but with cylinder 4. Professional mechanic told me it was a bad ignition coil. I told him " I replaced all those 6 months ago and the spark plugs". Long story short- yes it was an injector
Ive tried everything u have mentioned in this video PLUS the valve gasket, air filter and MAF sensor...did not consider the fuel injectors....will give it a try now. Thanks for sharing.
My brother have a 2010 Dodge avenger SXT and he got one of the spark plugs dams change and he also replace 4 spark plugs too and he still have the same code misfire on cylinder one thanks for the video
What I would do (I'm no mechanic) 1. Swap out the coils and see whether the problem moves to the other cylinder. 2. Fuel injector diagnostics. 3. Compression test
It's actually very easy to pull these on the dodge engines like these. I just did mine on a Dodge Caliber and it took me about 30 minutes and I used a screwdriver and a 13mm deep socket
I had the same problem so I did that in my cylinder 2 and Not only was the misfiring a problem which stopped but also my car was kicking every so often I thought it was a transmission that solve that problem as well.
I wish the Avenger 3.5 RT was as simple to get too. Its an hour minimum just to get the intake plenum off so you can get to the fuel rail, coils and such on the back side.
How did you get the fuel out of the injectors I have the same problem on cylinder 6 but the fuel pump is soddered on the fuse box it says to disconnect the battery but there still will have pressure in the fuel lines right?
I have a blinking CEL on mine (08 2.4) indicating misfire and apparently catastrophic failure on Cyl 1 with code p0301 changed spark plugs, coils, injector connectors, crankshaft sensor and the car runs normal but the light is on! I'll just give it a shot with the injector....
@@bobbyu8991 I did my own troubleshooting through every part of the ignitinion and fuel system. At the end I just took it to a guy for a reflash of the ECU.
@@MPAutomotiveCrafts Hello, running into same issue. DTC P0301 but can't feel a misfire at all. Engine flashes like a misfire but none is present. New Coils and plugs, good compression. Only code present is a P0301. Thanks for the input

It's hard to say- especially after you've already gone to the dealer. Maybe you have an electrical issue or something...but it's above my pay grade for sure...I'm just a guy with a few tools and a lot of time on my hands.

I'm no mechanic but I'd do a compression test. Check all cylinders and compare them for vast differences (especially cyl. 1). You could usually borrow the kit from a parts store.
@Shelly Love Flashing light is a serious issue. P0339 may still be the problem (could be an electrical issue and not the sensor). I'd have a stealership diagnose it. *Don't rule out a compression test.
Can you please tell me your cars symptoms b4 you fixed it? Mine are engine light blinks. Sometimes on some times off. Jerks on 1st and stays stuck on 1st until it warms up approx 15 20. I mutes of idling then Turns off. The other day I was on the freeway and it seems when I give gas that it turns on the light and blinks. I cleaned the right coil pack thinking it was 1 but according to your video it's 4 on the right that I did. I will clean it tomorrow and then if it doesn't work I'll do what you did. But please if u recall and share the symptoms I'd appreciate it. Thanks for the video!
From what I remember, the car was just running and sounding terrible like it was about to fall apart. A blinking eng. light is often serious. What is the code?
@@imightfixit well I was getting up to 11 codes repeats. Took out the coil pack and cleaned 1 and 4 and got 2 codes p0300x2 and I just checked again its also p0700 p0731. Warm up stops the slip still but not the gas problem. It seems to come on when I press the gas and stutter when I try to hit hay speeds. Even turns off .
Have you replaced the coil on #3? You could pull the coil and plug and check for spark www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06X9RC3PF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. Have you verified power to that injector? If so- I'd likely do a compression test to rule out a problem with that cylinder.
I think I’m getting a back fire into the air cleaner because on my 4c 2014 Dodge Avenger SE it hesitates while accelerating and sometimes the cabin will fill with Odor of gasoline. It could be a bad injector or something wrong in the throttle body. Any recommendations? The gas smell isn’t always there only when I do a really hard acceleration.I have zero dash codes.

A 12mm or a 13mm to take off the fuel rail
13 mm on the 08.

What is the correct ohms on the injectors
I'm not certain. I only checked the resistance on each injector to check for any discrepancies among them.

Any ideas I have 2008 avenger sxt and I have replaced all could injector and plugs also replaced sensors and no air leaks still have misfire in #3
Have you replaced the coil on #3? You could pull the coil and plug and check for spark www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06X9RC3PF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. Have you verified power to that injector? If so- I'd likely do a compression test to rule out a problem with that cylinder.
Does the vehicle need to be running when you check resistance
Now was this p0300 random or was it specific? To the cylinder?
The po300 code will read the number of the cylinder-3001-3002-3003-3004 that is misfiring....
Did you hear a little ticking before you found the problem
No I did not, no ticking.
What is the injector ohm reading supposed to be? Cant find it online. Thanks!
I'm not certain. I was told to check for fluctuations between them. You're looking for fairly uniform readings.

This could mean a loose gasket on fuel pump, it’s located underneath the backseat behind driver side
