Same problem happening to Kenya. The same person who pocket our country, we came to put him as our leader (his son this time) and the way he is borrowing loans , all of the big Kenyan projects like Railway, Airport, Ports etc. Will be ceased if things wont be corrected.
It's sad Kenya might be heading that way, with the huge loans.

That's the reason why in economics a country's resources shouldn't be in the hands of government, it should be left to the private sector because private sector has a better track record of managing resources efficiently than Govt. Gulf countries rich in oil like Saudi, Qatar, UAE etc are likely to be the next Nauru if they don't reform their model of over-reliance on oil. Most of them know this, that's why you see them setting up sovereign wealth funds where they invest abroad for the highest possible returns to shield them from a crisis when dinosaur juice is no longer viable, whether that strategy works out or not is yet to be seen.
